Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at the Horticultural Farm of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka during the period from October 2012 to March 2013 to study the effect of different doses of poultry manure and mulching on the growth and yield of tomato. The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Complete Block Design replications and consisted of two factors, Factor A: = Control, P 1 = 5 t/ha, P 2 = 7.5 t/ ha and P = 10 t/ha and Factor B: 0 = Control, M 1 3 = Black Polythene and M = Rice Straw respectively. Application of different doses of poultry manure and mulches influence independently and also in combination on the growth and yield of tomato. The highest marketable fruit yield 2 2 which was significantly different from other treatments, and the lowest yield . The highest marketable fruit yield 1 0 , while the lowest yield . In case of combined effect, the highest 2 M 1 0 and the lowest 0 M 0 . The highest BCR 2 M 1 and the lowest So, 7.5 t//ha poultry manure with black polythene was the best for growth and yield of tomato.
