As the sources of conventional energy are consuming day by day, resorting to alternative sources of energy like solar and wind energy has become our main concern. Now a days using solar panel to preserve the solar power as electricity is one of the most popular way. Solar-powered home appliance systems are already available in rural as well as urban areas. Solar charge controller and the load of the battery is the core of the main solar system. Charge controller plays an important role as the battery’s overall life depends mainly on it. In this point of view, this project presents designing a Solar Charge Controller for the Solar Battery and combines it with an Android device by which one can easily control the function of connecting and disconnecting the battery and load during battery over charging or discharging as well as the capacity to control intensity of the home appliances according to the load of the battery. Mosfets are used as switch to ON & OFF the battery and load. To control the intensity an optocoupler and a mosfet are used. Here Optocoupler is used for better isolation. Instead of using readily available microcontroller board, here Arduino microcontroller (2560) has been used to make the system cost-effective. The source code for the Arduino microcontroller is written in Arduino software. Furthermore, a blutooth device (HC-05) is used to connect with the android device. The system has been simulated and practically implemented. Performance study of the system shows that it works properly within the range 10 meter distance for a 12 V battery providing 2A electricity.
