Abstract

The experiment was conducted with twenty one genotypes of tossa jute from different geographic origin at the Jute Agriculture Experimental Station, Jagir, Manikgonj, Bangladesh Jute Research Institute The highest inter-genotypic distance and the lowest distance 12 and G . The highest intra-cluster distance was found in cluster II 6 Considering the cluster, inter-genotypic distance and other agronomic performance, the genotypes G9, G15, G21 from cluster I; G6, G12, G18, G20, from cluster III; G7, G11 from cluster V were considered to be better parents for future use in hybridization programme.
