Abstract

Experiments were conducted at laboratory and in the field of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka during January, 2012 to December, 2013 to evaluate the efficacy of some selected chemicals against bacterial leaf blight pathogen of cotton. Three chemicals viz., Copper Oxychloride, Mancozeb and Streptomycin sulphate either alone or in combination were used to control bacterial blight of cotton. Xanthomonas campestris pv. malvacearum was isolated from the blight infected. The bacterium was gram negative, rod shaped and showed positive results in KOH solubility, starch hydrolysis, catalase, citrate utilization, motility indole ureas agar 6
