Abstract
Mental health is an important component which includes overall well-being, encompassing emotional, psychological, and social variables that impact individuals' thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in day-to-day life. Various surveys show that a good number of adult populations in Bangladesh is suffering from various kinds of mental health conditions. But the most concerning thing is that people with mental disorders are mostly left untreated, and this led to various kinds of physical health-related problems. In Bangladesh, the mental health of the elderly is an urgent need, particularly in regard to the country’s rapidly aging population and the high incidence of mental health disorders within this age range. Depression in Bangladesh’s geriatric population is a serious yet sometimes underestimated problem. A diversified strategy is required for combating depression in Bangladesh’s elderly population. Now it is necessary to increase the availability of mental health interventions in primary healthcare.
