Abstract

An expernient was conducted at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultt rat University. Dhaka- 1207 tAt, rim! the Rabi season ( )ctober to February) of 2005-2006 to study the effect at' different levels of nitrogen a nd phosphorus oil the yield, yield contributing characters and seed qua! iv iii newly developed rapesced (Brass/cc: ('cunpextris) line SAIJ-C-177 . The experiment comprised of four levels of nitrogen viz. 0. 60. 120 and ISO kg N ha" and four levels of phosphoi'us viz. 0. 60. 90 and 120 kg P 205 ha''. The experiment was laid out in a randomized complete block design (factorial) with three replications. Nitrogen showed significant effect oil yield, yield components and oil yield of 'ape.'.ecd except the number of plant ni', number of branches planf t and oil coittent. Application of n trogeti @ 120 kg ha'' produced the highest plant height. si I iquac plant'. siliqua length, seeds siliqua". 1000-seed weight, seed yield, stover yield, biological yield. harvest index and oil yield. Phosphorus had siQniticant effect on yield, yield attributes and oil yield of rapeseed exCepi number of plant m' and branches plant'. Application of phosphorus Q 90 kg P1O l,zt" gave the highest plant height. siliquac plant", siliqua length, seeds siliqua 4 , 1000-seed wçift seed yield. slover yield, biological yield, harvest index, oil content antI oil yield. ComN ned effect of nitrogen along with phosphorus showed sign i iicant effect on all 111e p:tralneter of rapeseecl except number ul' plant in and branches plan( _The comb nat ion ol 120 k!: N ha ' and Ut) kg PO produced Ii ighest plant height, si I iquzte pla mit'. siliqtta lenuth. seeds siliqua". 1000-seed weight, seed yield. stover yield, biological yield, harvest index, oil content and oil yield. From the above flndings it is noted that application of 120 kg N & 90 kg P,O/ha coukl he 01)tilntirn dose for increasing seed & oil yield of rapesecd cv. SAU Sarisha- I.
