Abstract

An experiment was conducted at the Horticulture Farm, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University and Dhaka, Bangladesh during the period from October 2016 to February 2017. BARI broccoli-1 was selected for experimental crop. The experiment consisted of two factors. Factor A: four levels of Zinc i.e. Z : control, 1 : 10 ppm, Z 2 :20 ppm, Z : 30 ppm and Factor B:three levels of Salicylic acid i.e S 0 ii 3 : control 1 :0.3 mM, S : 0.6 mM. This experiment was laid out in a Randomized Complete Blocked Design with three replications. Zinc and Salicylic acid influenced significantly on most of the parameters. For Zinc treatments Z 2 2 performed best in case of plant height, number of leaves, leaf length, leaf breadth and also in diameter of curd . On the other hand, for salicylic acid treatment S 1 0 performed best in case of plant height, number of leaves, leaf length, leaf breadth and also in diameter of curd . In combined effect, the highest yield 2 S 1 0 and the lowest 0 S . So, 20 ppm zinc with 0.3 mM salicylic acid combinedly performed the best for the growth and curd formation of broccoli.
