Item Predicting Amino acid interaction network using artificial Bee colony(BRAC University, 2015) Enan, Mirja Shahriar; Abdullah Al Noman; Showkat, DilrubaProteins are biological macromolecules participating in the large majority of processes which govern organisms. Amino Acids are the building block of protein and its primary structure is a linear chain of amino acids, which lacks functionality. Amino acids interact with each other to produce a three-dimensional structure, known as protein folding. In our proposed approach, we are considering protein as a graph of amino acid interaction network whose vertices are the amino acids and edges are the interaction between them. We proposed a single objective evolutionary algorithm and a recently introduced swarm-based optimization algorithm, named Artificial Bee Colony algorithm to predict the interaction between amino acids and thus solving the protein structure prediction (PSP) problem.
