Item Performance Evaluation of Prime Bank Limited(East West University, 4/30/2009) Ahmed, TafhimThe premise of this report will impart the performance and financial position of prime bank Limited. Banking sector in Bangladesh is prospering day by day. As a financial intermediary between the surplus unit and the deficit unit, banks hold an integral and crucial position. Also the activities of banks are not only confined to eliminate the gap between surplus units and deficit units, unit also in several other activities such as in export and import sector. In this era of technology the banking sector is further spurred by computer system and by other supporting machinery such as automatic teller machine. Now a days the services of banks in all now stands at 49 in Bangladesh. Out of the 49 banks, four are nationalized commercial bank (NCBs), 28 local private commercial banks. !2 foreign banks and the rest five are development financial institutions (DFLs) . The prime bank limited is one of the well-established and prominent private banks in bangladesh.Item Performance Evaluation of Prime Bank Limited(East West University, 8/20/2009) Ara, ZinnatPrime Bank Ltd. started operation from April 17, 1995 with a commitment to play some social role in addition to normal banking. Its slogan is "Prime Bank Ltd. - a bank with a difference." From the very beginning, the bank has adopted the policy of diversifying its business. To achieve this objective, the bank started Consumer Credit Scheme, Lease Financing, Hire Purchase, loans in general Secured Overdrafts etc. Under the dynamic leadership of the Chief Executive Officer, the bank earned profit within December 1995 and raised its reserve. The bank started operation its business through four branches. The savings rate in Bangladesh is qne of the lowest in the world. In order to improve the savings rate, Financial Institutions responsible for mobilization of savings should offer attractive Savings schemes so that the marginal propensity to save increases. The savings do not, of course, depend only on the quantum of income but largely depend on the habit of savings ofthe people. Interest rate of Savings Deposit is 5.50%. The bank's deposits grew by 28 percent in 2005. Customer deposits of the bank grew by 33 percent. The growth was supported by branch network and high standard service provided to customers. The No cost and Low cost deposits comprised of 33 percent of the deposits. However, fixed deposits remained the main component of deposits contributing about 52 percent of the total deposits. The flavor of Insurance coverage of the fixed depositors has also increased the quantum. Average Interest cost of deposit increased 7.07 percent as against 6.62 percent of previous year.Item An Appraisal of Foreign Exchange Activities & Financial Performance of Prime Bank Limited(East West University, 8/23/2009) Abbas, Ankeeta BinteThe basis of this report will convey the foreign exchange activities and the performance and financial position of Prime Bank Limited. In Bangladesh, the flourish of banking Sector is running well. The activities of the bank is not only restricted to eliminate the gap between surplus units and deficit units, but also in several other activities such as in Export and Import sector. IT sector has enriched the service of the bank and thus it is able to give more satisfaction to its valuable -customers. The Prime Bank Limited is one of the well--established and prominent private banks in Bangladesh. The bank has been graded as a top class bank in the country through internationally accepted CAMEL rating. It focuses on a wide range of banking and financial services which include Commercial Banking, Retail & SME Asset Management, Islamic banking, Investment Banking, Merchant Banking and Card Business. It is a market leader in corporate consumer banking and retail lending to SMEs in Bangladesh. The report includes the activities of Foreign Exchange Department and on performance appraisal of Prime Bank limited. The comparative analysis, some financial statement analysis along with some relevant ratio calculations and their interpretations are presented in this report. However from the analysis and the report I have able to identified some problems as well bank's positive feature. The process of foreign trade and performance appraisal of Prime Bank Limited is the key part of my report.
