Saniat RahmanElectricity from tidal power is a form of pollution free renewable energy which has a lot of potential. This potential has not been realized high capital costs and environmental concerns. This paper discusses how the two problems could be resolved utilizing small-scale technologies, innovative financing, and involving local communities to ensure that all key impacts are manageable. Bangladesh has a long coastal area with 2~8 m tidal head/height rise and fall, most of which is protected against flooding by embankment and sluice gates. Therefore, the potential for tidal power in the country is significant because the barrages necessary for creating controlled flow through turbines (to tap tidal power) are also needed for flood control. It is feasible to generate electricity using the Bay of Bengal. Our research study shows that all twelve months of the whole year are feasible for power production but 8 months of the year (from the late March to October) are most suitable for power productionItem Action Recognition Based Real-time Bangla Sign Language Detection and Sentence Formation(IEEE, 2023-07-01) Akash, Shartaz Khan; Chakraborty, Debobrata; Kaushik, Mehedi Mahmud; Babu, Barsan Saha; Zishan, Md. Saniat RahmanSign language is a system of communication that uses visual motions and signs to communicate with persons who are deaf or mute due to a hearing or speech impairment. A real-time Bangla Sign Language (BdSL) detection system was proposed in this paper, which can generate Bangla sentences from a sequence of images or a video feed which can help those who are not familiar with sign language. Blazepose algorithm was used to identify the sign language body posture sequence. After detecting the body posture the data was gathered as a numpy file. A Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) network was used to train the numpy files since this network can generate predictions based on sequential data. After 85 epochs of training, the model's training accuracy was 93.85%, and its validation accuracy was 87.14%, which indicates that the model's ability to recognize BdSL sentences in real-time is adequate.Item An arduino based accident prevention and identification system for vehicles(IEEE, 2018-02-12) Mahamud, Md Sadad; Monsur, Maliha; Zishan, Md. Saniat RahmanIn this paper an accident prevention system is being introduced with accident identification for vehicles that will give a higher probability to reduce the accidents taking place every day on roads and at the same time if accident occurs, the system will locate its place and will automatically inform those people who will be able to take immediate actions. Here, an Arduino based system has been developed by using Global Positioning System (GPS) and Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) technology. An accelerometer will also be used that will measure the velocity and the amount of the vehicle's tilting when it will struck over something. When the velocity of the car will be more than the defined maximum velocity for the road or it tilts, a warning will be given automatically. Also, whenever an accident will take place, the GPS will locate the geographical coordinates for that particular place, and using the GSM it will send an SMS. The system is of low-cost and is user friendly.Item Analysis of Genetic Algorithm-Optimized PID Controllers for a Two-Area Automatic Generation Control System(IEEE, 2024-02) Tabassum, Nafisa; Jahan, Effat; Goswami, Niloy; Zishan, Md. Saniat RahmanThis paper aims to analyze an interconnected two-area Automatic Generation Control (AGC) power system through the application of optimization techniques based on Genetic Algorithm (GA). The principal objective is to enhance the overall system performance by optimizing the gain values of the three PID controllers using advanced optimization techniques like GA. This paper explores the overall performance by analyzing settling times in areas one and two and the deviation in tie line power. The system error is effectively minimized through the optimization of GA with the objective function of Integral Time Absolute Error (ITAE). Comparative analyses are conducted, comparing settling times in each area, tie line power deviation, and ITAE values with earlier simulated studies for a more comprehensive understanding to evaluate the novelty. The system is analyzed under two distinct loading conditions, analyzing each scenario individually in a case-by-case analysis. The article highlights the significance of the two-area AGC system and emphasizes the role of optimization techniques in elevating its performance, elucidating the substantial impact that optimization methods can bringItem Awareness on E-Health among undergraduate students in Bangladesh(Indian Journal of Public Health Research and Development, 2019-03) Hossain, Chowdhury A; Mohamed, Mohamad A; Zishan, Md.
