Item Chemical Profiling, Pharmacological Insights and In Silico Studies of Methanol Seed Extract of Sterculia foetida(https://www.mdpi.com/journal/plants, 2021-06-03) Alam, Najmul; Banu, Naureen; Aziz, Arfin Ibn; Barua, Niloy; Ruman, Umme; Jahan, Israt; Jahan, Farhana; Denath, Susmita; Paul, Arkajyoti; Uddin, Nazim; Sayeed, Mohammed Aktar; Emran, Talha Bin; Gandara, Jesus SimalSterculia foetida, also known as jangli badam in Bangladesh, is a traditionally used plant that has pharmacological activities. A qualitative phytochemical analysis was performed to assess the metabolites in a methanolic extract of S. foetida seeds (MESF), and the cytotoxic, thrombolytic, anti-arthritics, analgesic, and antipyretic activities were examined using in vitro, in vivo, and in silico experiments. Quantitative studies were performed through gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy (GC-MS) analysis. The brine shrimp lethality bioassays and clot lysis were performed to investigate the cytotoxic and thrombolytic activities, respectively. The anti-arthritics activity was assessed using the albumin denaturation assay. Analgesic activity was determined using the acetic acidinduced writhing test and the formalin-induced paw-licking test. A molecular docking study was performed, and an online tool was used to perform ADME/T (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion/toxicity) and PASS (Prediction of Activity Spectra for Substances). GC-MS analysis identified 29 compounds in MESF, consisting primarily of phenols, terpenoids, esters, and other organic compounds. MESF showed moderate cytotoxic activity against brine shrimp and significant thrombolytic and anti-arthritics activities compared with the relative standards. The extract also showed a dose-dependent and significant analgesic and antipyretic activities. Docking studies showed that 1-azuleneethanol, acetate returned the best scores for the tested enzymes. These findings suggested that MESF represents a potent source of thrombolytic, anti-arthritic, analgesic, antipyretic agents with moderate cytotoxic effects.Item Edu Manager(Daffodil International University, 2020-10-07) Uddin, NazimOur project title is “Edu Manager: A learning management system”. It is an online based web application for learning management. Any user can create an automated learning management system account for their institute by registering and it will under the subdomain. Admin can be able to create separate user roles to control each branch of the organization. Also, this system has many user panels. Admin Panel, Web Management Panel, User Register Panel, Exam Controller Panel, Accountant Controller Panel, Librarian Panel, Teacher Panel, Student Panel, Guardian Panel. Educational institutions that are not connected to the online learning system, to be connected to the online platform. This will help in improving the quality of education of educational institutions and students. It includes virtual classrooms and online conversation systems. This will reduce the distance between students and teachers.Item Machine learning system for accurate and reliable detection for plant diseases(BRAC University, 2025-06) Uddin, Nazim; Alam, Tanbirul; Yareed, Fahim; Towsif, Ahmad Farruk; Anwar, Md TawhidCrop pests and diseases present substantial threats to global farming, affecting both yield and food security. To overcome these problems, a capable machine learning (ML) system that is specifically designed to detect crop diseases with high precision and dependability is essential. By implementing machine-learning algorithms with deep-learning models, our system can analyze crop images and deliver accurate detection results. In pre-processing, the model uses advanced image processing techniques to collect required features from plant images, such as color, texture, and shape characteristics. The obtained features are then used to train an efficient machine-learning model on a vast dataset of different diseased plant images. The system is intended to precisely identify the overall condition of plants by analyzing the patterns that have been acquired from the image data. Additionally, it will offer clear explanations for its predictions. The system’s efficiency was verified through an in-depth testing process, and the results overwhelmingly show its high precision in comparison with traditional methods. This system will be very effective for farmers and agricultural professionals to make better decisions and successfully manage plant health.Item Report on Epyllion group operation department(BRAC University, 2025-11) Uddin, Nazim; Barua, ProloyThe Epyllion Group stands as a key contributor to Bangladesh’s export economy, managing a large network of factories specializing in the manufacturing and export of a wide range of apparel. Its operational model is highly efficient, covering all local procedures including product development, production management, quality control, and shipment execution, resulting in an annual turnover of hundreds of millions of dollars. This report (Chapter 1) provides an overview of the Group's working procedures, significant business turnover, and extensive product diversity. My internship experience at the Epyllion Group provided extensive hands-on knowledge and practical exposure. This report describes my tasks accomplished with five key departments— including Production, Merchandising, Compliance, Logistics, and Operations (Chapter 2)— drawing direct correlations with relevant academic coursework in the apparel industry. Chapter 3 offers a critical assessment of the internship work, highlighting the practical application of theoretical knowledge. The experience was instrumental in fostering professional growth, self improvement, and equipping the intern with valuable insights into the global apparel supply chain and business management practices. Chapter 4 summarizes the findings and provides the final conclusion.Item Value of Libraries to Research, Education and Society: Bangladesh Perspective(Center for Pedagogy (CP) Established under the Sub-project Titled “Pedagogical Development at Undergraduate and Master’s Level” (CP3357) Independent Univeristy, Bangladesh (IUB), 16-04-22) Uddin, Nazim; Rahman, Shafiur; Sultana, Farzana; MoniruzzamanThe purpose of this paper is an attempt to describe the value of libraries to research, education and society in Bangladesh, and its objective is to explore the importance of establishing libraries in Bangladesh. Libraries continue to play a crucial role in the development of society providing contents, good knowledge, information on local communities, interests of common people, reading materials, research papers, space, better environment, technological facilities, scholarly communications, institutional repositories and connecting researchers & academics. This paper follows a mixed research approach and collects data from different organizations and receives comments from renowned personalities about value of libraries in Bangladesh. This study investigates how libraries are important to higher educational institutions, research organizations and societies in Bangladesh. It discusses how libraries help researchers, scholars, and societies in order to make a better shape of their working condition in their respective areas. It also focuses on the improved life style of general people in collecting, preserving, and disseminating information by libraries for the greater interest of common people and society in Bangladesh. This study finally shows how communities are benefited from library services.
