    Development of E-Waste Reverse Supply Chain and a Web-Based Electronic Waste Management System

    E-waste is any refuse created by discarded electronic devices and components as well as substances involved in their manufacture or use. The disposal of electronics is a growing problem because electronic equipment frequently contains hazardous substances. At present, the amount of e-waste is growing rapidly in Bangladesh and to mitigate its negative influences on the environment and society, it is necessary for Bangladesh to establish appropriate strategies in order to manage e-waste and it should be conducted in a safe and standardized way. Previously Bangladesh government has adopted some policies and legislation but it was not implemented properly. The objectives of this paper are to propose a web-based e waste management model for Bangladesh and to propose a web-based e-waste management system model in the form of a user-friendly application for managing e-waste. Java programming language was used to develop the application. This web-based management system will help the government to apply the developed e waste management policy more accurately. The web- based model will create a strong network among consumers, government and e waste recycling companies or e waste collectors. Thus, will be much easier for the government to manage e- waste systematically. This study includes developed a reverse logistic meta model for e-waste management of Bangladesh and proposed a web-based e-waste management system model in the form of a user-friendly application for managing e-waste, limitation of the study, recommendation and future work.
