Item Application of Artificial Intelligence as a Knowledge Creation Instrument In Tax Procedures(Elsevier, 2024-04-25) Koivula, Karri; Shamsuzzoha, AHM; Shamsuzzaman, MohammadThis study set out to find whether deep learning algorithms neural networks and self-organizing maps could be utilized in a value-adding way in the Finnish Tax Administration in the handling of income tax related claims by limited liability companies. According to research positive outcomes in artificial intelligence (AI) utilization have been attained outside Finland. The research was carried out according to the action design research method in which the focus of the research is concurrently building a suitable artifact for the organization and learning (design principles) from the creation and intervention itself. Research began with problem formulation followed by building, intervention, and evaluation. As a result, the project team consisting of three members created two functional artifacts: one based on neural networks, and another based on self-organizing maps. Creation of the artifacts was done in cycles as alpha, beta and gamma where alpha and beta were a neural network and gamma a self-organizing map. Alpha reached a macro average of 0.75–0.78 in classification and beta 0.77–0.79. Gamma gave a different point of view on the problem and was able to clearly identify the class's non-estimated customers in a topographical map. The artifacts were limited to function only as knowledge creation instruments due to legal and ethical limitations present in the context. Results suggest that it is recommendable to approach problems with more than one artifact. The preliminary results of this research were validated by applying the concept in a case organization, followed by an analysis of the results in an end-user setting.Item Defining Green Innovation, Its Impact, and Cycle – a Literature Analysis(Elsevier, 2023-11-15) Chavira, Pablo Cisneros; Shamsuzzoha, AHM; Kuusniemi, Heidi; Jovanovski, BojanOrganizations all over the globe are starting to address environmental-related matters with special emphasis. Several authors believe that for organizations to improve their corporate performance and remain competitive they must minimize pollution and use resources more efficiently. To achieve the previous, green innovations (GIs) ought to be implemented. A lot of knowledge about GIs and everything they entail has been generated over the years. Nevertheless, it is all scattered. There is no consensus among authors and three main concepts (green innovation, sustainable innovation, and eco-friendly innovation) are used interchangeably. Moreover, the advantages of GIs are dispersed within the vast world of information and oftentimes can only be found within articles or books concerning certain specific domains. Likewise, current means for implementing GIs seem to be a completely different topic and unrelated to GIs, as it is hard to find data concerning these in relevant articles. This article is a mere literature review aiming to summarize a topic of a great magnitude such as green innovations and to show what they are, what moves organizations towards them, how can they be achieved, what is being done both in the EU and Finland in that regard, and to and propose a framework to better understand green innovations.Item Development of Value Proposition To Promote Green Innovation for Sustainable Organizational Development(Elsevier, 2023-08-14) Shamsuzzoha, AHM; Suihkonen, Anna-Miia; Wahlberg, Camilla; Jovanovski, Bojan; Piya, SujanFrom literature survey, it is noticed that there is substantial gap to a methodology that supports to identify and develop a generic value proposition framework as necessary to promote green innovation. To fulfill such gap, this study identifies and proposes a methodology to develop a value proposition framework that concerns the essential value creation activities as necessary to promote green innovation in any region or a country. The methodology of this study is based on an exploratory literature review and experts’ opinions from two intertwined workshops, where the participants were highly knowledgeable in green innovation and green mindset/culture. The created value proposition framework is analyzed and validated based on different organizational categories such as small and medium enterprises (SMEs), larger corporations, expert organizations, higher education institutions (HEIs), and vocational education and training (VET) institutions. The study findings will help organizations to contribute to new knowledge creation within industry practitioners and fellow researchers to develop a value proposition framework to foster green innovation. This article is concluded concerning managerial perspectives along with study limitations and future research.Item Service Productisation Through Standardisation and Modularisation(Taylor & Francis Group, 2023-03-01) Shamsuzzoha, AHM; Blomqvist, Hannele; Takala, JosuThis research study examines service productisation through the standardisation and modularisation of service. This concept is studied and applied to a professional service company which is running a productisation project for improving its services. This productisation project continues further through defining, describing, and developing a service platform and standardisation of its overall services. The main objective of this study was to promote sales through the identification and definition of products and their accompanying services. Moreover, the study explores and applies service development models, namely the model of integrating markets, modular service platform, identification of modules using design structure matrix (DSM), and model for service automation. Furthermore, the study also aims to find solutions for the standardisation and modularisation of services through these models and investigates the associated benefits and issues related to overall services.
