    A Reliable Open-Switch Fault Diagnosis Strategy for Grid-tied Photovoltaic Inverter Topology

    In order to increase the availability and reliability of photovoltaic (PV) systems, fault diagnosis and condition monitoring of inverters are of crucial means to meet the goals. Numerous methods are implemented for fault diagnosis of PV inverters, providing robust features and handling massive amount of data. However, existing methods rely on simplistic frameworks that are incapable of inspecting a wide range of intrinsic and explicit features, as well as being time-consuming. In this paper, a novel method based on a multilayer deep belief network (DBN) is suggested for fault diagnosis, which allows the framework to discover the probabilistic reconstruction across its inputs. This approach equips a robust hierarchical generative model for exploiting features associated with faults, interprets functions that are highly variable, and needs lesser prior information. Moreover, the method instantaneously categorizes the fault conditions, which eventually strengthens the adaptability of applying it on a variety of diagnostic problems in an inverter domain. The proposed method is evaluated using multiple input signals at different sampling frequencies. To evaluate the efficacy of DBN, a test model based on a three-phase 2-level grid-tied PV inverter was used. The results show that the method is capable of achieving precise diagnosis operations.

    A Report on Cattle Farmers Tendency Towards Artificial Insemination at Narayanganj Sadar Upazilla in Narayanganj District

    The study was conducted at Narayanganj Sadar Upazilla in Narayanganj District to analyses the tendency of the cattle farmers towards receive Artificial Insemination (A.I) technology in relation with their literacy, farming system, previous experience about cattle farming, problems facing by them to receive the A.I. technology and future of A.I. in Narayanganj Sadar Upazilla, Narayanganj. Data was collected from a questionnaire from 145 farmers during the period of 28th June, 2010 to 25th August, 2010. Results show that only 105 farmers received A.I. technology. Farmers were facing problem like distance of A.I. centre from home, high calf mortality, dystocia, availability of local bulls, low conception rate that make the unwilling to receive the A.I. technology. About 25.9% non-adopting farmers were interested for received A.I. technology, if facilities will provide to them. The future of A.I. technology largely depend establishment of more A.I. points and adequate supply of frozen semen

    EFFECT OF SALINITY ON THE OXYGEN CONSUMPTION OF TILAPIA FINGERLINGS

    Fingerlings of tilapia were used to compare the oxygen consumption rates at 0, 10, 20 and 30 ppt salinity. Oxygen consumption of tilapia at 0, 10, 20 and 30 ppt salinity was found 2.14, 0.71, 1.43 and 1.42 ml/liter/h respectively. Oxygen consumption rate thereafter decreased with increasing salinity, although the lowest consumption occurred at 10 ppt. Lower consumption at high salinities might be a result of reduced activity, which in itself was salinitymodulated. The fish in this study were in or near a resting state, and that differences in oxygen consumption rates probably were related to the energetic cost of ionic and osmotic regulation. Again, mechanism in the fill tissue might involve significant energy-consuming processes in different water salinities compared to fresh water.
