Kaniz; Saiful IslamThis report completed money laundering and its prevention policy of commercial banks in Bangladesh. Most of the money laundering occurred through financial institutions like banks, That’s why Sonali Bank Ltd. (as a largest commercial bank in Bangladesh) is selected to gather information about money laundering and its prevention policy to prepare this report. This report is completed by a descriptive analysis based on primary and secondary data. As money laundering is a sophisticated and dynamic crime, the criminals continuously take innovative processes to use the financial system to launder money. This study focuses on the techniques which are used to launder money in Bangladesh are bank capture, cash smuggling, offshore accounts (shell banks), underground banking, gambling, investing in legitimate business, round-tripping and structuring. In developing countries like Bangladesh, it is more difficult to combat money laundering than developed countries because of inadequate regulatory environment and vulnerable financial system. Bangladesh Bank issues guidelines to facilitate the implementation of prevention of money laundering act. According to the guideline, all financial institutions have to develop anti-money laundering policy to ensure safety and soundness of their institutions. To reduce the money laundering in Bangladesh, all financial institutions should develop a strong technical anti money laundering policy and should follow the guidelines of central bank in case of daily transactions, record keeping and account opening.Item AN INTERSHIP REPORT ON PRODUCTION AND MARKETING PROCEDURE OF ORGANIC TEA KAZI & KAZI TEA ESTATE LTD, RAWSHANPUR-TETULIA, PANCHAGARH.(HAJEE MOHAMMOD DANESH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY UNIVERSITY, DINAJPUR, 2016-10-23) Islam, Md. Most projects signify wireless sensor networks that collect data from different sensors deployed at various nodes and send it through the wireless protocol. The collected data provides information about plenty of environmental factors. Observing the environmental factors can not be the complete solution to boost the yield of crops. Hence, automation must be implemented in agriculture to overcome these problems. So, purposely showing the solution to all such issues, it is necessary to develop an integrated system that will take care of all factors affecting productivity at every stage. But complete automation in agriculture is not achieved due to many issues. Though it is implemented at the research level, it is not given to the farmers to benefit from the resources. Hence, this paper deals with developing smart agriculture using IoT and is given to the farmers.Item Computer imaging of meteorological parameters derived from NOAA satellite and ground station(Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 1988-04) Abu Raihan Azimul Hoque; Saiful IslamFor abstract please see full textItem Corporate Reporting Practices of Private Limited Companies in Bangladesh: A Case Study on Incepta Pharmaceuticals Limited.(HAJEE MOHAMMAD DANESH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY UNIVERSITY, DINAJPUR., 2014-06) Islam, Rabiul; Saiful IslamItem Effect of E-Banking on the Performance of Commercial Banks: A Case Study on Selected Banks of Bangladesh.(HAJEE MOHAMMAD DANESH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY UNIVERSITY, DINAJPUR., 2016-06) Islam, Rakibul; Saiful IslamIn this present world, we are always interacting with Information & Technologies and always trying to keep pace with using new & newer Information & Technologies (IT) and IT related devices. E-Banking is one of the parts to become a digital Bangladesh and also it is being tried to adapt this in various organizations. As apparently, it can be assumed that the adaptation of E-Banking can produce good results for the organizations. This paper is a result of survey on the impact of E-Banking on the performance of commercial banks, particularly some banks in Dinajpur area. Continuous technological development, particularly information technology revolution of the decades has forced the banks to introduce the E-Banking operations for their sustainable growth in expanded competitive environment. E-Banking has made financial transactions easier for the participants and has introduced wide range of financial products and services. The main focus of this research is to present the scenario, prospects & the impact of E-Banking on the performance of commercial banks. The study is descriptive in nature and data were gathered both through direct observation and reaching at the websites of different banks, conversation with bankers and interview by structured questionnaires through random sampling technique with current customers of different banks. To measure operating performance, I have analyzed questionnaire data from respondents those are primary in nature. It indicates that operating performance of the banks is much more satisfied due to E-Banking systems. Again, ROE, ROCE and ROA are also calculated to measure financial performance with specified formulas data from annual reports. The result of this measurement shows that E-Banking has a negative effect on the performance of the commercial banks. Primary data analysis has produced commendable effect on the performance of banks. But secondary data analyses have provided the result that is after adaptation of E-Banking, Banking performance has been declined. And for this, only EBanking system is not liable. As we are in primary stage of adaptation process and our people are not well accustomed with the system that occur increase in operating expenses or more investment that didn’t provide required return. Again political instability and also the effect of economic slowdown may cause for this result. If everything remains better, we hope this system may provide a good result in near future. The study also highlights some constraints and steps of overcoming those constraints of E-Banking in banking sector of Bangladesh.Item INTERNSHIP REPORT On Financial Performance Evaluation of Sonali Bank Limited.(HAJEE MOHAMMAD DANESH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY UNIVERSITY, DINAJPUR., 2016-07) Hossain, Md. Showqat; Saiful IslamThe report has been prepared based on primary and secondary data collected from the different SBL officials of Dinajpur Court Building Branch and the experience gathered by myself during my working term in this Bank. The key parts of the report are ratio analysis, methods of financial statement analysis, advantages and limitations, performance evaluation in theoretical aspects, groups of financial ratios analysis, performance evaluation in quantitative analysis, findings, recommendations and conclusion. The discussion in the report discloses some problems and I tried my best to recommend some ways according to me as well as the employees of different banks and creditors and depositors. The financial performance evaluation process of Sonali Bank Limited is quite commendable. Systematic and timely monitoring and appropriate documentation are tried to be maintained. Informal conversation with some customers reveals that they approve the performance evaluation and management process of Sonali Bank Ltd. Filing procedure is not maintained in a definite and clear manner. It is difficult to locate the documents in a chronological and sequential manner. In the light of the above findings, some recommendations are proposed such as an uninterrupted network system has to be ensured. It will save the officials from much hassle and will save time. The financial performance evaluation should be made quicker since competition is very hard in today’s business world. The limitations of the study includes as the performance evaluation in the respect of quantitative analysis of SBL are of confidential nature and thus it is difficult to collect the necessary relevant data and information within this short time. The bank officials though helpful in every respect do not have much time to explain the internal procedures.Item Loan Disbursement and Recovery System of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank, Majhipara Branch, Dinajpur (South)(HAJEE MOHAMMAD DANESH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY UNIVERSITY, DINAJPUR., 2016-10) Begum, Rupali; Saiful IslamThis study of Loan Disbursement and Recovery System of RAKUB, Majhipara Branch, Dinajpur is an attempt to indicate the importance of credit management in financial institutions such as commercial banks, micro finances and others. Thus, the rationale behind for undertaking this study is to deeply investigate the causes of credit management problems and to suggest the possible solutions that enable the bank to run its operation in a safest way as credit is known to be the main stay of all banks. The ability of banks to formulate and adhere to policies and procedures that promote credit quality and curtail non-performing loans is the means to survive in the stiff competition. Inability to create and build up quality loans and credit worthy customers leads to default risk and bankruptcy as well as hampers economic growth of a country. However, little work is done to search the ways and means that enable to quality loan creation and growth as well as to determine the relationship between the theories, concepts and credit policies both at country or regional level. For the purpose of the study both primary and secondary data are used. Primary data is collected using semi structured questionnaires. The secondary data is collected from annual reports, directives, and bulletins of the bank. Descriptive statistical tools are used in analyzing the data collected. Hence, the nature of the Study is descriptive. Finally, based on the findings possible recommendations are given. These include the issues impeding loan growth and rising loan clients complaint on the bank regarding the valuing of properties offered for collateral, lengthy of loan processing, amount of loan processed and approved, loan period, and discretionary limits affecting the performance of credit management.Item Marketing Strategies of Grameenphone Ltd. Bangladesh(HAJEE MOHAMMAD DANESH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY UNIVERSITY, DINAJPUR., 2016-10-24) Rahman, Md. Luthfor; Saiful IslamItem Modelling the hydraulic lift phenomenon during casing while drilling(Department of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Engineering (PMRE), 2015-12) Saiful Islam; Huque, Mohammad MojammelCasing while Drilling (CwD) is a process in which a well is drilled and cased simultaneously. This innovative technology has been successfully practiced for the past decade. However, narrow annuli often causes problems like packing or caving in the wellbore that may restrict the fluid flow and hole cleaning capacity. Hydraulic lift could be one of the beneficial factors that can be used to increase the efficiency of drilling as it can be used to monitor the wellbore condition. The purpose of this project work is to develop a theoretical model to calculate the overall hydraulic lift during CwD to evaluate the wellbore irregularities. As CwD process utilizes large diameter casing to drill, several forces act upwards on the casing. Usually Small annulus brings about higher frictional pressure drop compare to the conventional operation that causes high upward drag force on casing wall. Another force acts upwards at the bottom face of the casing while fluid exits through the nozzles. In this study fluid hydraulic principles have been used to generate the overall hydraulic lift model. This theoretical model has then been compared with field measurement from hookload. Deviation of the field measured value from the predicted hydraulic lift is an indicator of wellbore conditions. In this study trend of hydraulic lift predicted using theoretical model is compared with the field measured value of an well. Observation of this comparison is then analyzed with the field report to validate the model. Hydraulic lifts for three different depth interval and flow rates are measured. Findings of the comparisons are correlated with the summary of the field report for each section. Most significant finding is higher field measured hydraulic lift means higher friction due to packing or caving from the well bore that resembles the field observation also for a certain interval. The novelty of using hydraulic lift in CwD will enable the monitoring of wellbore condition to improve hole cleaning efficiency during operation.Item Realization of UHF elliptic function bandpass filter using stepped digital lines(Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, BUET, 1977-08) Saiful Islam; Mahdi, Dr. SoliamanulFor abstracts please see full textItem Service Marketing of RFL Export Department of PRAN-RFL Group(HAJEE MOHAMMAD DANESH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY UNIVERSITY, DINAJPUR., 2016-10) Islam, Md.
