    Marine Insurance Laws of Bangladesh; a Comparative Study

    Bangladeshi maritime insurance law evaluation. We'll explore industry operations, courts, and laws. After discussing maritime insurance and interpretive notions, this study examines Bangladesh's historical and legal setting and argues that it employs English law because it lacks a legal framework. Examining the 1906 maritime Insurance Act, 2010 Insurance Act, and 2000 Admiralty Court Act, this paper seeks to develop maritime insurance in Bangladesh. Triumphal cases like Eagle Star Insurance Company Limited vs. Rahmania Trading Co. suggest English maritime insurance laws may govern admiralty insurance. Bangladeshi maritime insurance is successful yet has inaccurate policies and insufficient coverage. Finally, the research illuminates marine insurance in Bangladesh. Guidance, precedents, Admiralty Court Act revisions, education, and laws are suggested. In this dissertation, the Insurance Act, 2010 and the Marine Insurance Act, 1906 are examined for pros, cons, gaps, and the necessity for proactive and contextual implementation to stay up with the ever-changing legal landscape.

    Phytochemical screening and antimicrobial activity of the methanolic extract of Polyalthia suberosa leaf

    Polyalthia suberosa is a medicinal plant known for its traditional use in treating inflammation, pain, and infections. Traditionally, it has been used in South and Southeast Asian medicine to treat fever, wounds, and gastrointestinal disorders, highlighting its therapeutic potential. The present study was conducted to find out the the phytochemical constituents and antimicrobial effect of the methanolic extract of leaves of P.suberosa (MPSL). The phytochemical screening was performed following the standard method. Antimicrobial activity was tested against 5 pathogenic bacteria (Bacillus cereus, Bacillus subtilis, Escheichia coli, Klebsiella peunomoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa) by the Disk diffusion method. Alkaloids, tannins, flavonoids, saponins, glycosides, phenolic compounds, steroids and resin were some of the chemical constituents identified during phytochemical screening. The plant showed moderate antimicrobial activity against tested microorganisms. Although the experimental extract showed antimicrobial activity against the tested pathogenic microbes. Therefore, the MPSL extract can be used as a new source for the development of novel antimicrobial drugs. However, further investigation is required to find out the responsible phytoconstituents for the aforementioned activity.
