Item A Hybrid Approach to Overcome Requirements Challenges in the Software Industry(Independent University, Bangladesh, 2023-05) Hasan, Md. Tarek; Bakar, Nabil Mohammad Abu; Nahar, Nujhat; Hasan, Mahady; Rokonuzzaman, M.This research paper presents a hybrid approach to overcome the challenges related to inadequate or insufficient client involvement and understanding during the software requirements phase. The aim of this study is to investigate the factors that contribute to this challenge and propose a solution that combines traditional and agile methodologies. To accomplish this, a survey was conducted to collect responses from industry professionals in the software development sector. The survey results showed that inadequate or insufficient client involvement and understanding is a common issue that leads to delays and misunderstandings in software development projects. To address this challenge, the proposed hybrid approach combines the traditional requirements engineering process with agile techniques such as user stories, prototypes, and continuous feedback loops. The hybrid approach aims to improve communication and collaboration between the client and the development team, ensuring that the software’s requirements are well-understood and documented. The results of this study indicate that the proposed hybrid approach is effective in overcoming the challenges related to inadequate or insufficient client involvement and understanding. The findings of this research have practical implications for software development organizations, highlighting the importance of adopting a hybrid approach to ensure successful software development projects.Item Develop a System to Analyze Logs of a Given System Using Machine Learning(Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), 2023) Hasan, Md. Tarek; Sadia, Farzana; Hasan, Mahady; Rokonuzzaman, M.Software error detection is a critical aspect of software development. However, due to the lack of time, budget, and workforce, testing applications can be challenging, and in some cases, bug reports may not make it to the final stage. Additionally, a lack of product domain knowledge can lead to misinterpretation of calculations, resulting in errors. To address these challenges, early bug prediction is necessary to develop error-free and efficient applications. In this study, the author proposed a system that uses machine learning to analyze system error logs and detect errors in real time. The proposed system leverages imbalanced data sets from live servers running applications developed using PHP and Codeigniter. The system uses classification algorithms to identify errors and suggests steps to overcome them, thus improving the software’s quality, reliability, and efficiency. Our approach addresses the challenges associated with large and complex software where it can be difficult to identify bugs in the early stages. By analyzing system logs, we demonstrate how machine learning classification algorithms can be used to detect errors and improve system performance. Our work contributes to a better understanding of how machine learning can be used in real-world applications and highlights the practical benefits of early bug prediction in software development.Item EFFECT OF SOWING DATES ON YIELD AND YIELD COMPONENTS OF RAPESEED VARIETIES(Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University Research System, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh, 2008-01) Hossen, M. A.; Sardar, M. S. A.; Bhuiyan, M. S.; Rokonuzzaman, M.The study was carried out in the Field of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University farm, Dhaka to evaluate the effect of sowing date and variety on yield and yield components of rapeseed (Brassica campestris and Brassica napus). From the results it was observed that among the four sowing dates studied October 20 sowing and among the three rapeseed varieties studied BARI Sarisha-S performed best in obtaining the highest values in all the studied components of the rapeseed varieties. The results further showed that BARI Sarisha-8 performed best by producing 52.4 % and 132.9 % higher yield than BARI Sarisha-9 and Improved Tori-7 respectively. In case of sowing date, grain yield was reduced gradually with the advancement of delay in sowing. October 20 sowing gave the highest grain yield (1422 kg ha") and that of lowest (437.2 kg ha") was observed in December 4 sowing. BARI Sarisha-S on October 20 sowing showed significantly the highest grain yield (1865 kg ha") and the lowest (130 kg ha') was found in Improved Tori-7 on December 4 sowing. The variety BARI Sarisha-8 and October 20 sowing performed best in respect of grain yield as well as other studied parameters.Item Enhancing Product Market Payoff in Small and Medium Internet-Based Firms: A Survey-Based Analysis of Innovation and Competition Factors(Independent University, Bangladesh, 2023-05) Bakar, Nabil Mohammad Abu; Hasan, Mahady; Rokonuzzaman, M.This paper aims to explore the relationship between innovation and competition and identify the conditions that affect the industry’s innovation and welfare. The authors analyze various factors, including the properties of product market payoffs, to determine whether competition increases or decreases industry innovation. The ultimate goal of this study is to provide policy recommendations that support innovation and competition.To achieve this objective, the authors conducted a survey to collect responses from industry professionals and identify the challenges that hinder innovation and competition. They examined several models and case studies,to understand how competition drives innovation. Despite the challenges, leading business consultants found that increased competition leads to higher productivity in various industries, including manufacturing and services.The study’s findings reveal that the recommended policy effectively overcomes the challenges related to innovation and competition sustainability. These findings have practical implications for regulatory organizations, highlighting the importance of adopting these policies to ensure innovation and competition for small and medium-sized internet-based firms.This paper presents a thorough examination of the correlation between innovation and competition, outlines the key elements that foster both innovation and competition, and suggests policy measures to bolster innovation and competition while improving product market outcomes.Item Enhancing the Performance of Lignocellulosic Textile Fabrics by Chemical Treatment and Filler Modification(Taylor and Francis Ltd., 2025-01-27) Khan, M.M.,; Rokonuzzaman, M.; Sayeed, A.; Islam, T.; Paul, D.; Moula, A.T.M.G.; Jahan, M.S.; Das, S.C.To improve the durability of lignocellulosic jute textiles, the raw woven fabric (plain weave) was treated with alkali and aloe vera solution. A coating of unsaturated polyester resin was employed to protect the jute textiles from outdoor environmental degradation. The initiator for the resin was methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP). To further improve the performance of the polyester-coated jute textiles, 10% Ca(OH)2 fillers were mixed with the resin. Hence, the developed jute textile samples were–J0 (raw jute textile), J1 (alkali and aloe vera treated and polyester resin-coated jute textile), and J2 [Ca(OH)2 filler-modified textiles of J1]. The physico-mechanical characteristics of all the jute textile samples were examined and evaluated via tensile, moisture, and water uptake performances. It was revealed that tensile breaking strength increased by 56% and 129% for J1 and J2 textiles, respectively, compared to the J0. The filler content samples (J2) also demonstrated an enhanced moisture resistance performance compared to J0. Further characterization was performed using FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared) spectroscopy, TGA (Thermogravimetric Analysis), and SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) analysis. The aging test demonstrated improved properties for the modified jute textile samples in acidic and salt solutions, but weight loss occurred in alkaline solutions.Item YIELD AND YIELD CONTRIBUTING CHARACTERS OF COTTO AS AFFECTED BY GENOTYPES AND SHADING WITH JACKFRUIT TREES IN MADHUPUR TRACT OF BANGLADESH(Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University Research System, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh, 2008-01) Mortuza, M. G. G.; Rokonuzzaman, M.; Rahman, M. T.; Khalequzzaman, M.; Aziz, M.A field experiment was carried out at the Central Cotton Research, Training and Seed Multiplication Farm at Sreepur, Gazipur during the period from August 2005 to March 2006 to evaluate the performance of five cotton genotypes in regard to yield contributing characters and yield of seed cotton at different distances from the base of jackfruit tree. The experiment was laid out in Complete Randomize Design (concentric rows of crop at different distances around single tree with five cotton genotypes) with four replications. Cotton genotypes i.e. CB-8, CB-9, CB-3, CB-IO and SR-05 were considered as factor A and distances of cotton genotype rows from jackfruit tree were (1m, 2m and 3m distance from tree base) considered as factor B. Cotton genotypes responded differently in terms of all studied parameters due to variation of distances from the tree base. Yield attributes of cotton genotypes i.e., number of boll per plant, boll length, boll diameter, boll weight and seed cotton yield were found better under open field condition. Among the genotypes, SR-05 produced significantly the highest seed cotton yield under open field condition which was followed by CB-IO, CB-3 and CB-9. Among the three distances, the farthest distance (3 m from tree base) gave higher yield. At this distance (3 m), CB10 genotype gave higher yield followed by CB-3 and SR-05 genotypes. At middle distance (2 m), CB10 genotype produced higher yield, which was identical to SR-OS. At the closest distance (I m from the tree base). CB-I 0 produced the highest seed cotton yield, which was identical to SR-OS. Interestingly, CB-8 produced the lowest yield at all distances from the tree base. The study revealed that the entire tested genotypes produced higher seed cotton yield under open field condition, while yield recorded at the partial shade provided by jack fruit was lower, but yield recorded at the farthest distance (3m) except CB-8 genotype was comparable or even higher with regard to national average.
