Item A Comparative Study for Measuring the Quality of Dhaka City Transportation System(IEEE, 2023-09-01) Rejuan, Md Arifur Rahman; Bandan, Sheikh Sadi; Rakib, Md. Abdur; Assaduzzaman, MdDhaka is the capital of Bangladesh and one of the most populous countries in the world. The population of Dhaka has grown at a huge rate in the last few decades and is expected to grow similarly in the coming decades. As a result, population density is increasing, meaning that a large population has to be accommodated in a small area. This is disrupting other activities of Dhaka city. Among the disrupted activities, the condition of the Dhaka Transportation System is absolutely pathetic. Because of this, traffic jams are constantly being created in Dhaka city and people spend their necessary time sitting in traffic jams for hours. Our research paper discusses the Dhaka Transport System. We have worked with 104 data sets and a research paper based on feedback from all of them. By discussing with them, several problems were found, such as: overpopulation, more vehicles, non-observance of the traffic system, not driving carefully, poor mechanical condition of vehicles etc. All these problems have been discussed in the research paper and solutions have been given to make the transportation system in Dhaka city work well in a systematic way.Item Cyber Bullying Detection Using Machine Learning Utilizing Social Media Data(Daffodil International University, 2021-03-30) Rakib, Md. Abdur; Rahman, Rashedur; Kobra, Khadiza- Tul-Harassment now a days become a headache for both men & women. Technological development makes our life easy, and harassment by using technological online platform become popular. This report centers to understand some aspect that related to the harassment by online which call cyberbullying. By the progressive of science of computer and application of machine learning, we attempt to find out a statistical possibility number of being cyberbullied by social media. By applying machine learning algorithms, we attempt to find out what is the main reasons of doing cyberbullying and which social media they get cyberbullied most. We gather around 1200 person’s data with various aspect. The information is taken from students, job holders.Item Export Trend of the Leather Industry of Bangladesh: Challenges to Sustainable Development(Faculty of Business Studies, BUFT, 2020-08-01) Rakib, Md. AbdurPurpose: The principal objectives of the study are to find out the contribution scenario of the leather sector towards the economic development of Bangladesh and to know the background of the leather industry, export performance, item wise contribution, country-wise export trend and contribution in GDP. Methodology: The present study is a descriptive one and based on mainly secondary information. The data was collected from various journals, research articles, thesis papers, newspapers, online news, survey reports, and annual reports and files. In this study, a descriptive technique was adopted in tabular form, column chart, line chart, pie chart, bar chart to analyze the results and represent collected data and information. Findings: The leather sector of Bangladesh is the second-largest export earners after the ready-made garments sector. This sector contributes enormously to the socio-economic development of Bangladesh. The research findings reveal that the export contribution of leather was 8.14% in FY 1990-91, but after that, the contribution of leather sector is decreasing, one of the main reasons is the export trade had been singlehandedly driven by the RMG sector, now its share is almost 2.52% ($1.01billion) of the export earnings. The study shows that the export earnings from leather footwear were 60% growth rate in FY 2018-19 due to riding the trend of increased leather footwear exports in the United States, whereas, the contribution of processed leather and leather products is 24% and 16% respectively. The study also reveals that the leather sector is contributing significantly to the GDP. Leather items are exported from Bangladesh to about 53 countries of the world. The leather sector is also a major employer of semi-skilled or unskilled workers, directly employs around 200,000 people and around 850,000 are connected to the sector indirectly. Limitations: I faced some difficulties for collecting data. Moreover, the study could not deliberate the reflection of statistical tools for analysis of the data. Practical Implications: The export earnings from the leather industry were in good shape before the inception of tannery relocation. But the tanneries are suffering from 2017 as the relocation hit the production of leather processing because some tanneries are not yet in operation. For improving the export performance, the study will be helpful for stakeholders, industry owners, and management, BTA, BFLLGFEA, LFMEAB and buyer’s association. Originality/Value: The study findings clearly showed and explained the comparative position of the export trend among processed leather, leather footwear and leather goods.Item Location, time and preference aware restaurant recommendation method(BRAC University, 2016-08) Habib, Md. Ahsan; Rakib, Md. Abdur; Hasan, Dr. Muhammad AbulLocation based social networks (LBSN) introduce a platform to understand users ‘preference via analyzing the ir check-in history. Such data are being used in the literature for wide variety of location aware recommendation systems. In this thesis, we propose an oval location, time and preference aware restaurant recommendation method by using checkers-in history, user’s current spatial location and current time. In the proposed method, each user’s check-in history is modeled individually to discover the preference etrend by using a logistic function. At the same time, each restaurant’s popularity is calculated using user-restaurant mutual reinforcement learning. The restaurant recommendation scores are computed by considering four key factors, namely, i) user’s preference score ii) the distance of avenue; iii) the time of a day; and iv) popularity of avenue. Each of these key factors is modeled carefully to estimate ear ealistic recommendations core for a restaurant in a given geospatial range. We tested our method using an available data set. The experimental results confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed method.Item Performance comparison of built-in-storage type solar water heaters(Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering (MPE),Islamic University of Technology(IUT), Board Bazar, Gazipur, Bangladesh, 2014-11-15) Haque, Md. Azazul; Sadri, Asif Mohaisin; Rahman, K.M. Mahbubur; Rakib, Md. Abdur; Ahmed, Syed Adeeb; Hossain, Md. Shahjalal; Bhuiyan, Md. Fahmid Matin; Haque, Iftehajul; Islam, Md. Rejwan-Ul-Three identical built-in storage type solar water heaters (BSWH) were tested under same conditions simultaneously in IUT campus, Bangladesh. All of the heaters having corrugated plates as absorbers, they differ as one has two reflectors and the other two has one reflector each. Tests were carried out during the months of May and June and again during August and September in the year of 2014. For each of the tanks, the temperature of the water, the ambient temperature and the solar insulation, ‘I’ were recorded at an hourly basis from 08:00 am to 05:00 pm on days with adequate solar radiation. The energy absorbed by the water, and so the efficiency of the absorber were also calculated on a daily basis from the data obtained. The BSWH using water and single reflector is recorded to heat 138 liters of water to a maximum temperature of 51.6 0 C, which is in the month of May. The BSWH using Nanoparticles with water and single reflector is recorded to heat 138 liters of water to a maximum temperature of 58.5 0 C, which is also in the month of May. The BSWH using water and double reflector is recorded to heat 138 liters of water to a maximum temperature of 55.10 C, which is also in the month of May. The efficiency, from the recorded and calculated data reveals that the efficiency of the BSWH using water and nanoparticles is higher than that of the BSWH with two reflector, and both of them have efficiency higher than the BSWH with water and single reflector.Item Problems of Autistic Children and Their Families: A Study in the Urban Areas of Bangladesh(University of Dhaka, 2014-03-09) Rakib, Md. AbdurAutism is now firmly established as a disorder of the developing mind and brain functions. Autism prima fascia a problem of enological maturation which becomes apparent in three years from birth and the very problem leads to inability of a child in normal and expected social interaction. Literature shows that it has a gender dimension that boys are more vulnerable to develop autism reveals in impediment of oral communication, observation and ‘abnormal’ behavior. Now autism is still full of mystery. Most people have accepted that autism is a lifelong condition and that it is inappropriate to expect a cure. People with autism often find social interaction difficult, have problems with verbal and non-verbal communication; demonstrate restrictive and repetitive behavior; have a limited set of interests and activities. ASDs include Asperger syndrome, Rett syndrome, childhood disintegrative disorder, and pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified. Experts estimate that three to six children out of every 1,000 will have autism. Males are four times more likely to have autism than females. Autism is a developmental disorder where language disorder is the most common characteristic in it, the sort of problems that children with ASD may have include as- not being able to express themselves well, not being able to understand gestures, facial expressions, or tone of voice, saying odd things, echolalia, pronoun reversal, sometimes using many words when one would do, using odd phrases and odd choices of words, making up their own words, not being able to understand difficult orders. Very few individuals who fail to achieve spoken language by this age later develop complex speech. For the majority of individuals with language impairments, the comprehension of language is generally at a higher level than their expressive abilities. Social relatedness includes marked impairment in non-verbal communication, peer relationships and social-emotional reciprocity. Restricted interests and activities includes encompassing preoccupations, adherence to non-functional routines or rituals, stereotypes and motor mannerisms. Communication/play includes either a delay or total lack of spoken language and lack of developmentally-appropriate make-believe or social play. A significantly greater number or PDD children displayed the problems: inaccessibility, strange behavior, and sleeping problems. The specific problems more or less in here in autism. Developmental deviance and retardation in the domains of cognition, language and socialization; rigid, stereotyped and inflexible style of functioning. The non-specific type of problems is additional to and not necessarily bound up with autism among these overactive behavior, temper tantrums, aggression, self-destructive behaviors, fears and phobias, sleeping problems and problems with toilettraining. In infancy non-specific symptoms are recognized, such as the lack of initiative, hyperactivity and sleeping and feeding problems. Children may develop normal speech until the age of two and then stop. Fifteen percent of children with autism develop seizures in the first few years of life and these spasms or seizures are thought, in some case, to cause autistic withdrawal. Some of autistic children are unable to make peer relation. They play only in themselves have very eccentric introvertness. They don’t understand the social norms. As they are unaware of basic social norms, they cannot maintain the interactional reciprocity in a given social context. For example to wear heavy weight dress during summer is odd for interaction but they are unaware of it. Children with autism would not or could not perform the tasks possibly due to severe mental retardation or the deficits in comprehension of language, impaired perception of rewards for cooperation, or severe impaired attention. Early onset of autism is widely accepted as before two and a half to three years of age. Learning difficulties are reported in 70% of children with autism (Taylor, 2006: 511). The majority of children with autism are mentally retarded and, therefore, a minority of children with autism functions in the normal to near-normal IQ range. Children with autism can have impaired hearing, but most do not. Some have impaired vision, but again, most do not. One of the earliest attempts to explain the cognitive problems of children with autism tend to touch, taste, and smell objects and people, often in a socially embarrassing way. Experimental evidence, however, soon showed that the excessive use of taste, touch and smell was not specifically associated with autism, but was associated with low mental age. This study asserts that the parents of autistic children undergo a high degree of stigmatization and public negligence in social interaction which makes them prone to stress regarding their children’s future.
