Item An analysis on negative comments of the facebook contents of Banglalink Digital Communications(BRAC University, 11/8/2014) Rahman, Tahmidur; Hossain, SaifBanglalink is the second largest telecom company in Bangladesh. PR and Communication is responsible for designing and developing all promotional materials for the marketing of any new product/package and any other activities. They coordinate and work directly with the advertising agency and other vendors. As a part of Banglalink‟s PR and Communication team I had access to Banglalink‟s social media pages. Social media especially Facebook now a days, is very effective medium for communication. Thus it is possible to identify what a customer wants from the company or what problems they are facing by analyzing the Facebook comments they make. This purpose of this report is to identify negative comments‟ patterns on Banglalink‟s Facebook page, the problems which are leading to negative comments and what should be done and how it should be dealt with. People only make negative comments because they are facing some problems. If these problems can dealt with in an effective way, the number of comments will be fewer improving the customer experience which may lead to better performance of Banglalink‟s Facebook page. For this report I analyzed and discussedwith to senior managers in Banglalink to get necessary information I need to conduct my study. Judging from the comments it seems although there are above negative comments, the topic the users are complaining about mostly are as follows: network, internet speed and internet pack price. Other than that there are so many queries made on different value added services that Banglalink offers which are replied by the Customer Care Department (CCD) through Banglalink‟s official Facebook page. CCD can play a major role here to customer experience by replying to positive comments as well, currently they only reply to negative comments and queries. This will encourage the fans to make more positive comments. Network needs to be improved and more network related offers like “Minute back on Call Drops” should be introduced. Customers should be properly notified why and the internet is not performing as expected and given incentives to improve customer experience. Banglalink could also introduce internet packs with lower speed and/or less validity which will allow them to charge lower prices for the internet and meet the customers‟ needs who are looking for more affordable internet.Item Finding suitable feature extraction method for condition monitoring of electrical equipment(BRAC University, 2021-06) Karobi, Synthia Hossain; Rahman, Tahmidur; Khoshnabish, Md Shoaib; Dey, Swarup Kumar; Huda, A. S. Nazmul; Mohsin, Abu S.M.The degradation of electrical equipment caused by excessive temperature rise leading to the failure of a total electrical system can be reduced by the thermal monitoring of the equipment. Manual analysis of thermal images is time-consuming, cost-effective and can cause injuries or health damages. Therefore, building an automated fault diagnosis system plus selecting the suitable features for developing that system is essential. As there are several feature extraction methods and applying all of them to identify suitable features is time-consuming and creates extra loads on the automated system, choosing one efficient method for feature extraction is necessary. This study actually shows the comparison among different texture feature extraction techniques and find the best one by using Machine Learning. After extracting different features using different methods from thermal images of electrical equipment, firstly, supervised learning was used along with Random Forest as a classifier and then training-testing data were used to train the machine and predict the segmented regions of the pictures. The study result shows that using Gray-Level Co-Occurrence Matrix as feature extracting method gave the most accuracy and less error in the performance analysis algorithm. Finally, the condition of the electrical equipment is also predicted whether it was faulty or normal in addition to which feature extracting method provides most accuracy.Item Marma Composite Ltd. apparel merchandising(BRAC University, 2021-06) Rahman, Tahmidur; Haque, Shamim Ehsanul; Uddin, SalahThis report is on Apparel Merchandising. The objective of this internship is learning practical things of industry and practice what we have learned in class room. As the classroom discussion cannot give a complete picture of the real business situation. It was an opportunity for the students to gather practical knowledge and know the real-life working conditions through this program. I wanted to work on this topic because Apparel Merchandising is very important in the RMG sector in Bangladesh. Merchandisers are handling the business. I have divided this report into four parts, first Company Profile, second brief description of my activities and learning in industry, third findings and suggestion, four conclusion and recommendation.Item Temple of knowledge(BRAC University, 2013-12) Rahman, TahmidurTemple of Knowledge is a platform for the citizens of this city to interact, to live, to share and to gain knowledge.To gain knowledge, not only through the conventional way that we are already familiar with but also through the ways in which people have enlightened through ages, through sharing. The project tends to juxtapose different factions, to achieve the right combination that fits the 21st century and helps the citizens to be enlightened. The project aims at igniting the thoughtfulness and curiosity of the mind; and an exploring mind asks questions. The project aims to create a shift within the mind of the people and resulting in a change in the society in the larger scale. The ultimate objective of the project is to constantly provide a positive energy into the urban social fabric, so as in not too distant future Dhaka becomes a much more livable, tasteful, and culturally and aesthetically oriented city.
