Item An optimized design of a connecting rod based on buckling and fatigue analysis(Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering(MPE), Islamic University of Technology(IUT), Board Bazar, Gazipur-1704, Bangladesh, 2023-05-30) Rahman, Sabbir; Haque, Md. Mustakim; Utsho, Md. Abu IshrakConnecting rod, a vital component of an automotive engine, undergoes stress and deformation producing useful rotary motion. The following work was done aiming to fulfil a research gap in the premises of connecting rod. Even though quite a few numbers of works have been done to analyse Ti6Al4V as connecting rod material, none of them displayed a separate design based on its buckling load. However, calculating the design parameters and designing accordingly for different materials offers a chance of improvement. In this study, we designed a separate model for Ti6Al4V while maintaining same factor of safety against buckling which resulted in 60% weight reduction than the 42CrMO4 model. The design was verified using static and fatigue analysis in Ansys. The mass was even reduced further by response surface optimization technique weighing 0.196 kg only instead of original weight of 0.839 kg. This lightweight model made the design more compact and the reduced materials decreased engine load which improved the efficiency of the engine. Finally, how the neck radius affects the stress developed on the connecting rod was analysed and total deformation revealed a significant pattern with the increasing fillet radius and consequently the stress reduced drastically until a optimal point was reached. Shortage of skilled rescue workforces, as well as the risks involved in search and rescue operations, are becoming foremost problems during an emergency situation. To solve these problems, we have designed and implemented an Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) robot. The robot is designed and implemented in such a way that includes the application of digital electronics, embedded programming, digital signal processing and digital sensors. This USAR robot uses the microcontroller PIC 16F690 to control its movement by using a radio frequency module and PIC 16F73 to collect the sensor’s data and transmit the data through Bluetooth module. These are low power and costeffective chips. The PIR sensor, Co2 gas sensor, and temperature sensor will collect the data of the disaster area and transmit the data to the service station. Even though, a camera is operated for visual purpose. In this paper not only we have designed and implemented USAR robot but also we tested and analyzed the result.Item Determining the critical success factors of ERP implementation in the RMG sector a case study(Department of Industrial & Production Engineering (IPE), BUET, 2021-09-27) Rahman, Sabbir; Sarwar, Dr. FerdousBangladesh is the second largest exporter in the Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector globally. Many RMG companies in Bangladesh are attempting to implement Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems but are not achieving the expected results. This challenge is not unique to Bangladesh, as ERP implementations have failed in 55% to 75% of European and American manufacturing companies. Critical Success Factors (CSFs) play a pivotal role in the various stages of ERP implementation, and the success of these implementations largely depends on these factors. This research identifies the top twelve critical factors for ERP implementation through a review of the literature and expert opinions. To rank these factors, the study employs the VIKOR method, a Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) tool known for handling complex decision-making processes. Furthermore, the research reveals that these factors are interrelated, and this interdependence is illustrated using a Causal Loop Diagram (CLD). The CLD highlights how changes in one factor can influence others, creating a dynamic and interconnected system of dependencies. For instance, effective communication can enhance user involvement, while strong project management can improve data accuracy and business process reengineering. Additionally, the study analyzes the appropriate strategy and team structure necessary for successful ERP implementation. A well-defined strategy involves setting clear objectives, ensuring top management support, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal team structure includes a balanced mix of technical experts, project managers, and end-users, all working collaboratively towards the common goal of successful ERP integration.Item DIU Course Registration Portal(Daffodil International University, 2018-12-23) Rahman, SabbirIn every start of the semester students need to come to the university physically to register their online courses. Teacher also needs to come to the university to assign courses. But this system will solve this issue. In this system students can easily takes their semester wise courses. And their section will be auto assign by the system based on the students taken that course. Teacher will approve those courses that are taken by the students easily by searching. Finally an admin can easily view the report on how many students takes particular courses in every semester.
