    A Survey on Shared Perceptions, Help Seeking Patterns and Awareness of Cyber Bullying Among Bangladeshi Citizens

    Cyber Bullying is one of the major social problems now-a-days which is called 'Digital Crime'. Prevention of this problem has become the need of the hour. The main goal of this study is to find out the condition of Cyber Bullying cases among different genders, what do they actually do when they face it and what are their thinking against this major crime. The data set is collected from different professionals such as students, teachers, housewives, doctors etc via google form. The data set was dividend into 897 rows with 11 columns. The libraries that were used to analyze the data set are Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn etc. The data set has both responses of victim and non-victim people. The summary of this study says that women face cyber bullying more than men and the major opinion of the victims is, there are no efficient laws against this issue. People used to ask for help from their family and friends rather than police or institutional authorities. The major approaches to combat this cyber crime are to provide personal counseling and assistance regarding cyber bullying as well as open training on how to use personal information wisely on the internet. © 2023 IEEE.

    An Undergraduate Internship on Software Engineering (Artificial Intelligence)

    This is report provides an overview of my enriching three-month internship at ADN DigiNet, where I was selected to participate in a specialized program aimed at developing prototypes and proof of concept projects utilizing Machine Learning (ML) and Aritificial Intelligence (AI) techniques. The internship commenced with an intensive two-month training phase, immersing us in ML concepts, tools, and available libraries. Subsequently, the final month was dedicated to applying our newly acquired knowledge and skills to work on individual projects. My Project centered around the creation of a Book Recommendation System, designed to enhance user experience by delivering personalized book suggestions based on their preferences and platform interactions. As part of this projects, I played a pivotal role in building the backend server using Django, a widely-used web framework. Specially, I was responsible for implementing crucial functionalities, including user authentication, order placement, and review management, ensuring a seamless user experience and fostering greater engagement and satisfaction.

    Android Based Smart Appointment System (SAS) for Booking and Interacting with Teacher for Counselling

    An appointment system is going to be popular nowadays. The necessity of these types of systems is increasing day by day specially in education sector. Worldwide COVID-19 pandemic provoke the demand of these types of application. In this research paper, an Android-based appointment is built for booking an appointment and communicating with the teacher. To use this system both student and teacher have to an android device with connection of the internet. A single android application will be used for both types of users. Students can get the information of all teachers and book an appointment with teachers and teachers can accept or decline this appointment. Java programming language is used for this system and Google's Firebase is used for the database. In addition, the modern coding Architecture pattern MVVM (Model- View-View Model) followed to build this system. Hopefully, this system saves valuable time and makes the teacher-student interaction journey easier.

    Anti-Corruption Disclosure, Corporate Social Expenditure and Political Corporate Social Responsibility: Empirical Evidence from Bangladesh

    Corruption is a major concern globally, particularly in developing countries, such as Bangladesh, where it is the main obstacle to economic development. Corruption is also mentioned asthe major impediment to accomplishing sustainable development. There is a dearth of studies on anti-corruption disclosure (ACD), political corporate social responsibility (PCSR), and cash holding in Bangladesh magnitude of this research. This study investigates different drivers and motivations of ACD practice of a less control of corruption country’s firm-level observations. This study incorporates an institutional and legitimacy theoretical lens to explain anti-corruption disclosure practice. In order to draw the best picture of corruption disclosure, the study uses all financial sector companies listed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange. Therefore, the total firm-year observations are 245 from 2012–2016.The authors developed a diverse set of 97 keywords as content for ACD. The regression results show that CSR expenditures, political corporate social responsibility (PCSR), financial constraint, internationalization of reporting, and media visibility positively and significantly affect firm-level ACD. Furthermore, cash holdings show negative and significant relationships. The study provides new evidence on CSR expenditure, PCSR, cash holdings, and media visibility from a developing country’s perspective. Therefore, the results suggest that policymakers and regulatory authorities can deal with ACD as a legitimization tool for society and stakeholders.

    Buyer Comment on Different Sample

    Before beginning mass production, an extremely significant sample of a garment is made. It recommends creating a prototype of the clothing item that must meet the buyer's requirements. One of the most important procedures in the apparel business is sampling, which requires a strong performance to draw in customers. It's fascinating to observe that customers typically make a purchase after being pleased with the Samples' quality. The samples highlight the supplier's capacity. Only the provider and company will be identified by the customer as the source of the samples. Regardless of whether the samples are reasonably priced and of acceptable quality, customers should be politely encouraged to put a purchase. Therefore, it is essential that the examples demonstrate extraordinary ingenuity. The provider can estimate the amount of yarn required to create a fabric by creating samples, which aids in estimating the cost of the production problems. The supplier can also create prototypes and optimize processing parameters for large-scale manufacturing, which will help decrease bottlenecks of all kinds. The sample department, which works with the buyer at the border, is in charge of all these duties.

    Chloride Ingress and Corrosion of Steel Bars in Reinforced Concrete Made with Different Aggregates

    Chloride-induced corrosion of reinforced concrete structures is one of the main reasons of deterioration of concrete structures in the marine exposures. A detailed investigation was carried out to compare macro-cell, micro-cell corrosion progress and chloride ingress in concrete made with different types of aggregates, such as recycled brick aggregate (RBA), fresh brick aggregate (BA) and stone aggregate (SA) as coarse aggregate. As fine aggregate natural river sand (NS) and recycled brick fine aggregate (RBFA) were used. CEM Type I (Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC)) was used as binding material. Cement contents were 340 and 400 kg/m3. W/C ratios were 0.45 and 0.55. For investigation, reinforced specimens were made. As reinforcement both deformed bars and epoxy coated bars were used for investigation. Both cracked and un-cracked specimens were investigated. A total 16 cases was investigated. The cracked prism specimens were splashed with natural seawater one in a day. Un-cracked cylindrical specimens were submerged in 3% NaCl solution of temperature 400C for 180 days. The cylindrical specimens were cut to collect concrete samples from the depths of 0-10, 10-20, 20-30, 30-40 and 40-50 mm. Chloride profiles in concrete were evaluated by titration with AgNO3 solution at 120 and 180 days of exposure. The recycled brick aggregate showed the highest level of chloride ingress compared to the other aggregates. The rate of macro-cell corrosion with respect to the type of aggregate is ordered as recycled brick aggregate (RBA) > fresh brick aggregate (BA) > stone aggregate (SA). It was also observed that chloride ingress as well as corrosion formation rate reduces with the increase of cement content and decrease of W/C ratio. No significant amount of corrosion was observed for the cases with epoxy coated bars.

    Comparative study of toxic comments classification using machine learning algorithms

    The rapid growth of information technology and the disruptive transformation of social media have happened in recent years. Websites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, where people can express their thoughts or feelings by posting text, photos or videos, have become incredibly popular. But unfortunately, it has also become a place for hateful activity, abusive words, cyberbullying and anonymous threats. There are many existing works in this field but those are not fully successful yet to provide accuracy in satisfactory level. In this work, we employ natural language processing (NLP) with convolution neural networking (CNN), extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost) and support vector machine (SVM) for segmenting toxic comments at first and then classifying them in six types from a large pool of documents provided by Kaggle’s regarding Wikipedia’s talk page edits. Using this dataset, the hamming score of CNN model is 89% ,XGBoost model is 87% and SVM model is 84%.

    Comparing Comfort in Various Public Transportation Modes in Dhaka City

    The comfort of a transportation trip was measured and correlated with data from two different sources i.e. subjective (Questionnaire survey) approach and mechanical (Arduino) approach for the first time in context to a fast-developing city like Dhaka. Comfort values for two different routes with five different modes were analyzed on the basis of four identified variables (Speed, Vibration, Sound, Temperature) with the help of Anova Test. The f critical values of all the variables are found to be smaller than the f values. We thus can say that the null hypothesis is rejected, implying that with the change of mode, change of identified variables and all over comfort value is directly connected. We also prepared comfort ranges on the identified variables for general passengers. This thesis is a basic survey, which pioneers the way to correlated data analyzing but would require a full-scale survey of all major possible highways in Dhaka city to actually enhance the comfort model. The study requires inclusion of a few more identified variables and a weight study to develop the model in a further level. A whole scale comfort model of the Dhaka city would be a big step forward in correlated data analysis for any developing country. This would help us to design transports and develop policies and strategies towards a more comfortable transport system of Dhaka.

    Exploring the Relationship between Customer Loyalty and Financial Performance of Banks: Customer Open Innovation Perspective

    Abstract: In the age of technology, continuous innovation is the ultimate motto of the financial sectorto attract customers. Firms in the financial sector must be innovative in terms of service quality and operational performance to obtain customer loyalty and gain financial stability. A dearth of studies on customer loyalty and financial performance of Islamic Banks motivated the authors to examine the relationship between customer loyalty and financial performance. The study also explores whether the service qualities have any impact on customer loyalty. The study uses both primary and secondary data to conclude the research objectives. A survey of 356 questionnaires was carried out among the customers of the selected Islamic banks of Bangladesh to gather information regarding customer service quality and customer loyalty, while financial performance data were attained from the annual reports. Moreover, the study follows the SERVQUAL model’s five dimensions (tangibles, empathy, assurance, reliability, and responsiveness) to determine the service quality of Bangladeshi Islamic Banks. Rigorous statistical techniques, including exploratory factor analysis, reliability testing, and regression analysis were used to investigate the hypothesis. The study empirically documents a positively significant impact of service quality (tangibles, empathy, reliability, and responsiveness) on customer loyalty, while assurance shows an insignificant relationship. Furthermore, the study does not find any significant relationship between customer loyalty and the financial performance of Bangladeshi Islamic Banks. The findings of the study profoundly denote that the financial performance of Bangladeshi Islamic Banks mostly depends on many other financial and non-financial factors, rather than customer loyalty

    Food Rotting Prediction and Detection System for warehouse

    this thesis paper presents an elementary approach to food spoilage detection and prediction in a warehouse setting, offering a practical and cost-effective solution to reduce food waste and improve food safety. This project develops a device that can predict and detect food spoilage in a timely and accurate manner by utilizing different gas sensors, temperature, and humidity sensor to predict and detect the presence of spoilage in stored food. The gathered data from the stored food is then processed and analyzed by the system. The output is displayed on an LED screen and a buzzer goes off to alert the food keepers. The project also involves the development of a user-friendly interface to allow for easy monitoring and management of the system. It uses a Bluetooth module to transmit the resulting data from the system. The findings of the study demonstrated the effectiveness of the Food Rotting Prediction and Detection System, with the sensors providing reliable data for predicting and detecting food spoilage. A mixed method analysis including thematic analysis and predictive modeling allows for more robust validation of the findings, as the results can be triangulated across different data sources.

    Groundwater Contamination and Health Risk Evaluation of Naturally Occurring Potential Toxic Metals of Hatiya Island, Bangladesh

    Groundwater meets the majority portion of drinking water needs, particularly in the rural area of Bangladesh. Groundwater has been continuously contaminated by potentially harmful metals as a result of natural processes as well as some anthropogenic activity, creating a variety of health impacts. The current research aimed to evaluate the naturally occurring level of metal contamination and the human health risk associated with deep groundwater in the Hatiya Island. Because of the arsenic, iron, and salinity problem in shallow groundwater, the inhabitants of the Hatiya Island use deep groundwater. During the field investigation, no shallow tubewells were observed; therefore, only deep groundwater samples were collected. The total sample size collected throughout the Hatiya island was 17. Five metals (Zn, Fe, Mg, Mn, and Cu) were analyzed using an Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). The concentrations of studied potential risky metals were ranked as follows: Mg > Zn > Fe >Mn> Cu. The detected values of all metals except Fe were found within the drinking water limits of WHO (2017), BIS (2012), and BDWS (1997), where only 29.41% of the Fe sample exceeded the standard drinking limits. According to the metal evaluation index (MEI) and degree of contamination (Cd), the groundwater of the study area is free from contamination but the metal pollution index (MPI) and nemerow pollution index (NI) exhibited little pollution in the middle of the western part of the study area. The hazard quotient (HQ) values revealed no oral and dermal health risk for individual metals (Cu, Zn, Fe, Mn). On the other hand, the hazard index (HI) values exhibited no risk for combined metals as none of the values exceeded the safety limit value of 1. According to the HQ and HI results, the deep groundwater on Hatiya Island is non-carcinogenic and risk-free for children and adults. However, children were more susceptible to oral health risks than adults. In contrast, adults were more vulnerable to dermal health risks than children.

    Heart Disease Classification Using Machine Learning Algorithms

    Heart illness, or cardiovascular disease, is one of the main medical concerns at the moment. The purpose of my research, " Heart Disease classification using Machine learning Algorithms" is to draw attention to the risk factors for heart disease. To reach the maximum accuracy in heart disease prediction, I analyze numerous patient variables using multiple algorithms. Logistic Regression, K-Nearest Neighbours Classifier, Support Vector machine, Decision Tree Classifier, Random Forest Classifier, XGBoost Classifier are some of the algorithms that were used. With an accuracy of 97.99%, the Random Forest Classifier was the most accurate of them. People are able to make well-informed judgments about their next actions for more successful therapy because of this high predictive accuracy.

In this report, all the practices done by Igloo to build up long term relationship with its clients has been mentioned. As the market leader of the country’s ice cream industry, Igloo has always been concerned to come up with new business plan in order to maintain the market share and keeping them ahead from the competitors. Launching a new department called Corporate Sales to build and maintain the customer relationship is one of the few approaches. Throughout the report, all the operational activities done by this department has been mentioned. On top of that, the overall marketing activates of Igloo has also been highlighted in this report from a bigger perspective. Igloo’s current market share, marketing strategies, its competitors, its straights, weakens, threat, opportunities and its different communication strategies has been a bigger part of this report. I have tried to evaluate Igloo’s marketing activates with different marketing theories such as “Corporate Marketing Mix”, “SERVQUAL Index” etc. Both the Primary and Secondary data have been used to conduct this study.     Implementation of a GSM based smart energy meter

    Traditional energy meter needs manual effort to collect the energy usage data from households and then the bill is sent to the customers at the end of the month. This process may lead to possible human errors. To increase the accuracy of the billing systems from utility providers by preventing human errors, an Arduino and GSM based automatic billing system is implemented in this project. The implemented system measures the energy usage and bill accurately and also notifies the billing information to the users via mobile phone SMS on a daily and monthly basis. The implemented system increases energy awareness and provides hassle-free service to utility customers.

    Iot based supply chain management

    Beginning from the evolution of industrialization, planning, production and distribution has always been the significant process. For manufacturing and distribution of the products from company or suppliers to the customers involves many things e.g. people, information, materialistic resources etc. This vital process, known as Supply Chain Management (SCM) when collaborated with Internet of Things (IoT) can result into greater possibilities in different aspects of supply. In this paper, we focused on the integration of IoT with core features of supply chain management, which are production, packaging and delivery of the product. In this system, clients can place order online, and for packaging and tagging, we have used RFID tags, which can be read for keeping information about the product in different warehouses. For ensuring a user friendly delivery experience, we have used Ai-Thinker A7 module, which is a combination of GPS, GSM and GPRS system that continuously updates the vehicle information in cloud server through which clients can easily track their products’ location. The main purpose of this research is to make automated SCM and increasing efficiency using IoT.

    Marketing communication helps to develop brand awareness for all organizations, which means that consumers translate product information into perceptions about the product’s attributes and its position within the larger market. Businesses also use marketing communication to retain the product’s current customer base, and to cement relationships with customers and suppliers, notes "Reference for Business." BTL (Below the line communication) is a common technique in the theory used for "touch and feel" products (consumer items where the customer will rely on immediate information rather than previously researched items). BTL techniques ensure recall of the brand while at the same time highlighting the features of the product (IT firm related). The terms 'below-the-line' promotion or communication refers to forms of non-media communication, even non-media advertising as well. Below-the-line promotions are becoming increasingly important within the communications mix of many companies. This report is prepared on the basis of practical involvement to the BTL wing of Support IT firm. I hope that the theoretical knowledge and the practical skill will could be clearly defined through this report, especially in case of BTL communication.

    Oxygen Declination in the Coastal Ocean over the Twenty-first Century: Driving Forces, Trends, and Impacts

    Oxygen declination in coastal oceans has accelerated drastically in recent decades, both in terms of severity and spatial extent, and such disappearance of oxygen leads to dead zones where life can't survive. This phenomenon is mainly attributed to nutrient pollution and climate change due to intensified anthropogenic activities. The annual statistical oxygen mean concentrations showed the current deoxygenation trends based on (WOA_2001–2018) data comparison of 200 m below the surface water from the first two decades of the 21st century. A relatively similar significant oxygen loss of 0.5–3 ml/L was indicated in the first decade (2001–2009) over the water of continental shelves (200 m) in the tropical oceans and the areas of subtropical Pacific, Atlantic, and southern Indian oceans gradually started to fall from their moderate oxygen concentrations 4–5 ml/L between 2005 and 2009. Consequently, in the next decade (2013–2018), the negative oxygen trend persisted at a similar depth in the global oceans, and its expansion to more regions suggested that this trend of oxygen loss will continue in the future. This is a serious threat that has to be made more widely known since declines in oxygen levels in coastal oceans could have a wide range of negative impact on marine life, biogeochemical cycles, coastal habitats, economies that run on the sea, and ultimately humans. Therefore, it is crucial to investigate and put into practice management alternatives in order to lessen the effects of continuous deoxygenation on marine life and the supply of services by marine ecosystems.
