    Chemometric modeling, molecular docking and in silico design of proguanil analogues as dhfr-ts inhibitors to treat malaria effectively

    Malaria is a prevalent disease threatening worldwide which is affected by Plasmodium parasites. Plasmodium parasites are making resistance gradually which accelerate the innovation of new antimalarial drugs concernment to stand against this disaster extremely. DHFR-TS enzymes are expected target protein which help reproduction of the parasites. Proguanil is a biguanide derivative, most commonly used against of the parasites. According to recent scientific report, malaria parasites are growing strong resistance against proguanil and other anti-malarial drugs constantly. Current study executes to find out the successor bioactive analogues of proguanil on a basis of molecular docking score through in silico analysis which will help to halt the parasites life cycle. AutoDock Vina and Chimera docking tools were used to elucidate the ligand-protein docking and binding interactions. In docking analysis, analogue ZINC16343331 and analogue PubChem CID 10684194 were found to interact with target receptor sites. Using AutoDock Vina and Chimera, binding affinity for analogue ZINC16343331 and PubChem CID: 10684194 were found-7.5 Kcal/mol and 7.3 Kcal/mol respectively, whereas obtained binding energy of proguanil was-6.6 Kcal/mol. Moreover, ZINC16343331 was showing best positive AMES test than proguanil. So, further studies on this analogue could gift the humanity a major breakthrough against the world deadliest disease.

    EFFECT OF PULVERIZED SILICA AND RADIATION DOSE ON THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF RADIATION (GAMMA-RADIATION) VULCANIZED NATURAL RUBBER LATEX FILM

    A study of the effect of pulverized silica on the properties of radiation vulcanized natural rubber latex (RVNRL) film has been done. Radiation vulcanization of natural rubber latex was done by using Co-60 gamma radiator at room temperature using n-butyl acrylate (n-BA) as sensitizer. The additives (pulverized silica and n-BA) were blended with NR latex just before irradiation. It was found that both silica concentrations and radiation doses were important for the improvement of the tensile and swelling properties of natural rubber latex film. The tensile strength, tear strength and gel content were found increasing and the elongation at break, permanent set and swelling ratio of rubber film were found decreasing with increasing concentration of silica and also increase in absorbed doses. The optimum radiation dose and silica concentration were found at 12 kGy and 1.0 phr respectively which showed the tensile strength 12.77 MPa and tear strength 52.97 N/mm.

    Hypoglycemic and analgesic activity of ethanol extract of polyalthia longifolia leaves on experimental mice

    Diabetes is emerging new threats through different complications with time. Present study was designed to evaluate a hypoglycemic activity of Polyalthia longifolia leaves ethanol extract of along with analgesic activity. Oral glucose tolerance test showed significant result at dose 500mg/kg body weight of mice but not significant at dose 250mg/kg compare to control group where metformin was used as a reference standard. Analgesic activity of Polyalthia longifolia extract by acetic acid induced writhing method also showed mentionable effects that was 58% at dose 500mg/kg and 70% at 250mg/kg compare with standard diclofenac 78% writhing inhibition. © 2019, SILAE (Italo-Latin American Society of Ethnomedicine).     The main focus of this review is the investigation of the roles of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) in fermented food prepared from dairy sources. LAB has been used extensively in food fermentation across the globe as potential microorganisms. Around the world, several species of LAB are employed as starter cultures in several fermented dairy products. Fermentation of milk and milk products involves the LAB genera Lactobacillus, Streptococcus, Leuconostoc, Pediococcus, and Lactococcus. LAB can be widely employed in developing novel fermented milk products, given the existing knowledge of its numerous health-promoting properties. LAB is widely known as a natural approach to the fermentation of food and enhancing a healthy life. In recent years, there has been a surge of interest in researching LAB to know more about their effects on starter culture or probiotic activity. From a microbiological viewpoint, the diversity of LAB involved in different fermented dairy products are extensive. LAB identified in fermented products could be assessed for their potential beneficial properties to enhance the quality of the product produced. So, the study's goals are to learn about the most recent studies on LAB, which is found in fermented dairy products, as well as their characteristics and health benefits.

    Study on growth and yield of some aromatic rice varieties

    A field experiment was conducted at Agronomy field of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka during the period from June to December 2017 with seventeen aromatic rice varieties viz., V1= Chiniatap 1, V2= Chiniatap 2, V3= Kataribhog 1, V4= Kataribhog 2, V5= BRRI dhan34, V6= BRRI dhan37, V7= BRRI dhan38, V8= BR5/Dulabhog, V9= Khoisanne, V10 = Sadasanne, V11= Zirabhog, V12= Begun bichi, V13= Shakkhorkhora, V14= Chinigura, V15= Kalijira, V16= Badshabhog, V17= Modhumala to study on growth and yield of some aromatic rice varieties. The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. Regarding growth and yield parameters, the highest number of total tillers hill−1 (23.33), leaf area index (5.38), flag leaf length (30.12 cm), number of effective tillers hill−1 (21.67), panicle length (32.00 cm), number of grains panicle −1 (230.3), number of filled grains panicle−1 (212.7), grain yield (3.42 t ha−1), straw yield (6.19 t ha−1) and number of biological yield (9.610 t ha−1) were found in var. BRRI dhan37 but the highest 1000- grains weight (22.80 g) and harvest index (37.48%) were found Modhumala followed by BRRI dhan34, respectively. The lowest number of effective tillers hill−1 (13.33), panicle length (24.67 cm), grain yield (1.583 t ha−1), straw yield (4.083 t ha−1), biological yield (5.667 t ha−1) and harvest index (27.89%) were found in the var. Modhumala.
