Over the last two decades, the worldwide popularity of social media has been rising at an unprecedented rate. The use of social networking sites in companies allows an effective way of communication among the organizational members, colleagues and customers. Although in recent times, the social media and online networking platforms are being considered among the top agenda for strategic marketing interventions, there appears to be very limited research of employees' social media use for work purposes. This paper analyzes the perception of service professionals about their involvement in social media and its impact on their job performance, considering the banking sector. For this, a questionnaire survey was conducted targeting the bank employees, who were chosen by convenient sampling. Responses were received from forty-three respondents, collected data were coded into SPSS to conduct descriptive and exploratory analysis. Findings of the study suggest that involvement in social media influences the employees to communicate their personal and professional achievements and other relevant information to the broader community. This subsequently helps them to develop professional networks, improve teamwork and enable them to feel good about their job performance. The outcomes of the study will provide empirical evidence on understanding employee engagement in social platforms and thus it also outlines strategic insights to the corporate managers about updating their social networking policy and practices. Additionally, the empirical findings will also add value in the digital marketing interventions to enhance the corporate image.

(2024) Nabhan Khan, Jaad Al; Hoque Nahid, Mahzabul; Nahar, Rezbin; Absar Rabbanee, Golam Mustafa Md. Nurul
This paper aims to examine the attitude towards adoption and intention to suggest web-based GPT tools among HR professionals in a nation that is still in the nascent stage of technology adoption. The study integrates the Task-Technology Fit (TTF), TAM (Technology Acceptance Model), and TRI (Technology Readiness Index) models to develop a comprehensive understanding of which antecedents contribute to explain users’ attitudes towards adopting GPT tools and their subsequent intention to recommend these technologies. To gather survey data of 307 HR professionals from 23 different organizations, a structured questionnaire was utilized. The respondents must have experience using GPT technologies. The survey questionnaire consisted of 32 items, and the collected data was analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) using Smart-PLS 4. The findings of the structural path analysis revealed that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and technology readiness significantly influence HR professionals’ attitudes towards embracing GPT in their workplace. The study also found a significant positive relationship between attitude and intention to recommend. However, task characteristics did not significantly influence perceived usefulness, satisfaction, and continuous intention to use the technology have not been found to have a significant impact on attitude. This study has developed a new paradigm by combining these technology adoption models. As an early empirical study, this research contributes significantly to the existing research on the impact of disruptive technology on HRM and HR professionals. The findings provide valuable insights for the adoption of ChatGPT in different scenarios among HR professionals.

(2022) Islam Talukdar, Mohammad Rafiqul; Lamagna, Carmen Z.; Hassan, Farheen; Nahar, Rezbin
In the transition to the post-pandemic phase, the blended teaching-learning modality seems to be a good solution for universities. But the post-pandemic paradigm seemingly calls for a triple-system of classes, ie, on-campus classes, blended teaching-learning, and virtual classes separately under separate plans and schedules. The paper explored a clear-cut conceptual understanding of the concepts of" virtual classes,"" blended teaching-learning," and" triple-system of classes." The study contributed a comprehensive framework with teaching-learning modalities, especially for private universities in Bangladesh, in the pandemic period, the transition to the post-pandemic period, and the post-pandemic paradigm. It also developed a robust model for blended learning.

(2021) Islam Talukdar, Mohammad Rafiqul; Nahar, Rezbin; Hassan, Farheen
Higher education institutions seem to be a potential-risk site for the outbreak of novel-corona-virus as students used to behave in close community proximity in college and university grounds in Bangladesh and elsewhere in the world. In such a context, the emergence of a new business strategy for the higher education sector to get survived becomes a must. While it seems that many higher education institutions in Bangladesh have failed to respond timely to the call for the emergence of a new business strategy or a new business model to encounter the COVID-19 pandemic situation, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) has proved its strength and become a role model as the first university in Bangladesh by shifting with a strategic drive within days of the initial COVID-19 outbreak in the country. AIUB's experience in encountering the COVID-19 pandemic has been documented here as a successful business teaching case. The lead case question: What are the factors that make it successful to encounter a high-sensitive global pandemic situation?

Title Impact of Covid-19 on Private Higher Educational Institutions (PHEIs) in Bangladesh: Challenges and Policy Responses
(American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), 2020-12-30) Nahar, Rezbin; Khan, Foyasal; Hassan, Farheen
Abstract This paper investigates the likely impact of Covid-19 on private higher educational institutions (PHEIs) in Bangladesh. To conduct the study, a qualitative approach has been employed based on interviewing 8 educationists and 2 students on three key areas: general impact assessment; teaching and learning; and future impact of COVID-19 on PHEIs. The findings revealed that COVID-19 may create a barrier to the successive growth of tertiary education in terms of dropping enrolment in the coming academic years. The study also indicates that PHEIs may face trouble in the salary payment of their academic and non-academic staff. Even, many staff may lose their jobs. Thus, Covid-19 may psychologically affect the community of PHEIs. Based on the findings, this research recommends that the government should offer a financial package to protect PHEIs in order to effectively tackle the challenges of the COVID-19 outbreak. The findings of this study, conducted at the very early stages of coronavirus spread in Bangladesh, will be important for policymakers in further improving the capacity of PHEIs in Bangladesh in facing a crisis. The study also suggests that future research considering more samples and involving all stakeholders need to continue to effectively measure the real impact and severity of COVID-19 on PHEIs.

Due to lack of skilled manpower, operators fail to provide quality services among the users which can be an obstacle for the growth of mobile sector. Therefore, training programs were conducted for the employees in order to improve their skill in improving customer service activities. The training program mainly focuses on the female employees as they are in backward position as compared to the male. This study aims to assess the employees’ perceptions whether their ability to provide customer services increased after participating in the training program. About four hundred female employees were taken as sample for this study using simple random technique. Logit model was used to examine the influence of socioeconomic variables on the dichotomous dependent variable. The study results indicate that training program had a positive impact on the performance of the female employees.
