    Development of an optimal production allocation model for multistage multilocation multi period system

    Multistage multilocation multiperiod production systems arc very common m manufacturing and business arena, Production allocation for multistage mUltilocation mltiperiod system is of great importance to the academi(;s, researchers and managers. The task of production allocation for multistage system is a highly complex job because of the requirement of incorporating various aspects of overall manufactming and business scenario and inventory oricnted factors. This task bewmes uphill especially, for assembling oriented enterprises. To get a realistic solution of production allocation, the search for effective quantitative techniques is an essential one. Mathematical modelling is an efficient approach to these cases. In this research work attempt has been made to develop mathematical models relating to various situations, -starting from very simple cases to the complex assembling oriented systems. All the developed models were tested with data and .found to' provide optimum solutions. 'Inc linear programming methodology was employed for solving the problems assuming the associated costs linear. ,jj • Beside the analytical ability and conceptual maturity of the designer, the success of this modelling approach sterns from its nature of incorporating updated and correct data. Models relied highly on modem information technology. The presence of management information system (MIS) in the enterprise was felt to be very essential.

    Identification of injury patterns of hospitalized motorcyclists and development of countermeasures for their safety improvement

    In the event of an accident, a motorcycle rider is directly and fully exposed to violent impact or collision. Therefore, motorcyclists are more at risk of being killed or injured in a road traffic accident than any other type of vehicle user. In Bangladesh Motorcycle is one of the most vulnerable motor vehicle and has a higher fatality rate per unit of distance traveled when compared with automobiles. The statistics indicates that motorcycle accident and fatality risk is very concerning in Bangladesh than other countries with very high motorcycle occupancy rate. Analysis shows that during 5 years from 2008-2012, the percentage of motorcycle related accident and casualties maintains an increasing trend and on average its share in all accident and casualties is 14% and 8% respectively. Under these circumstances the current study has been attempted to conduct detailed analysis with a view to identify distinct features of motorcycle related accident and injury in Bangladesh, Dhaka city in particular. The study aims to identify injury patterns among hospitalized motorcyclists, analyze motorcyclist’s driving behavior and to explore characteristics of accident. The previous studies mainly focuses motorcycle traffic trend analysis, motorcycle traffic volume and travel behavior. No study on casualty’s injury in motorcycle accident has been found to be carried out previously in our country. This research may be the first attempt in this regard. For identifying distinctive features of motorcycle related accident and injury, motorcycle accident data have been analyzed in MAAP5 software. The accident data needed for analysis has been collected from Accident Research Institute (ARI), BUET. To identify the injury pattern, characterize driving behavior and analyze the situation during accident a questionnaire survey has been conducted among at least 100 patients who are admitted to hospital as a result of motorcycle accident. They have been asked a series of questions about their riding habits and the type of accident in which they were involved and a series of questions about their motorcycles. The result shows that about half of total injury is in the right leg and more than one-fifth is in left leg. The probable cause of such leg injury may be due to the fact that motorcyclists are mainly involved in side-swipe and head-on accidents in which the legs are rubbed between vehicles or motorcycles and road. One preventive measure to protect the legs and feet might be to use Leg Guard.

    Use of water hyacinth for removal of pollutants in sewage

    The study is an experimental investigation into the use of water hyacinth for removal of pollutants in sewage. This system is considered as low cost technology, alternate to conventional treatment system for sewage treatment in hot climates. Cost estimates for sewage treatment in ponds system using water hyacinth and. without water hyacinth is compared. Ponds with water hyacinth has been found cheaper than conventional treatment system. From the literature review it was apparent that little work had been carried out on pollutant removal process from sewage using water hyacinth. The shallower depths and the presence of water hyacinths in place of algae are the major differences between treatment systems with water hyacinths and stabilization ponds. The' water hyacinths, themselves, bring about little actual treatment of the waste water. Their function is to provide components of the aquatic environment that improve the waste water treatment capability and/or reliability of that environment. Survival and growth rate of water hyacinth were observed, when this plant was grown on sewage. Longer type water hyacinth is seen continue to survive in sewage having maximum initial BODs of" 110 mg/l. Evapotranspira-t:ion and Evaporation rate from sewage with and without water hyacinths were determined in various conditions. Three types of water hyacinths were used to determine evapotranspiration rate from different concentration of sewage sample. Evaporation rate from sewage sample were determined in similar condition to evapotranspiration test. Evapotranspiration rate is seen 2 to 4.5 times higher than evaporation rate in the similar condition. Characterization of pollutant removal from sewage with water hyacinth were done in various conditions primary importance was given to findout the removal performance of organic loadings, suspended solids (ss) and Nutrient Concentration (P&N). Higher pollutants removal rate have been found in case of sewage treatment with water hyacinth than without water hyacinth. In general removal of organic matter in water hyacinth system is 8- 15% and removal of other pollutants are 10-25% greater than without water hyacinth system.

The customers can pay their payment in offline payment which is hand- cash after services receive and also can pay online payment using the credit card. The service- provider also have to register to create a profile to provide their service. The service-provider can see the request which is booked by the customer. The service-provider can accept or reject the request. Otherwise The customers profile`s booking service will be pending. There are also some sub-categories based on main category.
