Item An arduino based accident prevention and identification system for vehicles(IEEE, 2018-02-12) Mahamud, Md Sadad; Monsur, Maliha; Zishan, Md. Saniat RahmanIn this paper an accident prevention system is being introduced with accident identification for vehicles that will give a higher probability to reduce the accidents taking place every day on roads and at the same time if accident occurs, the system will locate its place and will automatically inform those people who will be able to take immediate actions. Here, an Arduino based system has been developed by using Global Positioning System (GPS) and Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) technology. An accelerometer will also be used that will measure the velocity and the amount of the vehicle's tilting when it will struck over something. When the velocity of the car will be more than the defined maximum velocity for the road or it tilts, a warning will be given automatically. Also, whenever an accident will take place, the GPS will locate the geographical coordinates for that particular place, and using the GSM it will send an SMS. The system is of low-cost and is user friendly.Item An Arduino based smart hand gloves for load control and physician notification(IEEE, 2021-08-07) Rakib, Md Abdullah Al; Mahamud, Md Sadad; Zishan, Md Saniat Rahman; Abbas, Fysol IbnaSpinal cord trauma and strokes are the main causes of paralysis. In this research, a new idea has been developed by designing a smart glove. This glove can be used by the parallelized person to interact with other people by giving a symbol through this wearable glove. The principal objective of this research is to identify finger position of a person and give an emergency command to the nurse or doctor about the patient condition. In addition to that patient also can control loads of a certain room by moving fingers. This smart device consists of a glove with flex sensors and an electrical conditioning circuit. It bends with the finger and leads to selective regulation. The emphasis of this paper is on the exploration and implementation of a finger position measurement system for one hand. Moreover, it can be used for therapy and here medicinal application has been concentrated which shows the intimacy between the patient, doctor, and nurse.Item An IoT Based Water-Logging Detection System: A Case Study of Dhaka(Global Conference on Technology & Information Management, 2020-02-15) Islam, Md Manirul; Mahamud, Md Sadad; Salsabil, Umme; Amin, A A M Mazharul; Suman, Samiul HaqueWith a large number of populations, many problems are rising rapidly in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. Water-logging is one of the major issues among them. Heavy rainfall, lack of awareness and poor maintenance causes bad sewerage system in the city. As a result, water is overflowed on the roads and sometimes it gets mixed with the drinking water. To overcome this problem, this paper realizes the potential of using Internet of Things to combat water-logging in drainage pipes which are used to move wastes as well as rainwater away from the city. The proposed system will continuously monitor real time water level, water flow and gas level inside the drainage pipe. Moreover, all the monitoring data will be stored in the central database for graphical representation and further analysis. In addition to that if any emergency arises in the drainage system, an alert will be sent directly to the nearest maintenance office.Item CUSTODY: An IoT Based Patient Surveillance Device(Springer, 2018-10-18) Mahamud, Md Sadad; Islam, Md Manirul; Zishan, Md. Saniat Rahman; Suman, Samiul HaqueIn this paper, the authors present an assistance device for patient’s surveillance. An IoT based system is developed for monitoring patient’s heart rate, body temperature and saline rate. An Arduino microcontroller is used here for processing the data and ESP32 module is used for monitoring the patient’s data through internet and a GSM module is used for notifying the doctors in emergency case. The main objective of this project is to help the doctors and nurses to monitor a patient’s health condition through internet and over cellular network. On the other hand, if the monitoring parameters exceed beyond their nominal values, the ready message is sent to the concerned duty doctor as well as the attendant and display it in the LCD screen and a specific audio sound is played for urgent awareness.Item Domicile-an IoT based smart home automation system(IEEE, 2019-02-21) Mahamud, Md Sadad; Zishan, Md. Saniat Rahman; Ahmad, Syed Ishmam; Rahman, Ahmed Rezaur; Hasan, Mehedi; Rahman, Md LutfurWe are living in the fourth industrial revolution. Our life is becoming more comfortable and smarter with the help of rapid upgrade of technology. Internet of things (IoT) is playing a massive role in this. One of the major sides of IoT is a smart home. As we are in the era of never-ending growth of the internet and its application, smart home system or home automation system is highly increasing to provide comfort in life and improving the quality of life. In this paper, we present an IoT based low-cost smart home automation system. This system is based on a web portal which controlled by an ESP32 Wi-Fi module. Also, a custom-made private home web server is developed for maintaining the current states of home appliances.Item Watch IT: An assistive device for deaf and hearing impaired(IEEE, 2018-01-15) Mahamud, Md Sadad; Zishan, Md. Saniat RahmanHearing influence is one of the basic needs of our daily lives. By good communication skill, we can promote better health, greater educational attainment and many more. Lots of confusions may arise when a hearing impaired person try to communicate with a general person. In this paper an assistive device has been proposed which aids hearing impaired person ensuring freedom to communicate easily with anyone getting close. The impaired person needs to put on the device which is designed like a wrist watch and carry an android phone with him or her. This device works by receiving voice and interpreting it into the readable text continuously and becomes visible on the LCD screen. Whenever a person wants to listen something from someone he just needs to open the app in his phone and go through his watch. The system has been developed such a way that there is no specific limitation of speech input. It's a very much simple and light device to operate and carry out.
