Item Dengue Disease Prediction by Machine Learning Algorithm in Bangladesh(Daffodil International University, 2024-07-24) Kibria, Md. Golam; Ha-mim, FatemaIn Bangladesh, dengue fever is still a major public health issue that presents difficult management and preventative strategies. Proactive steps to lessen dengue's negative effects on public health can be made easier with accurate dengue epidemic prediction. In this work, we examine how well different machine learning methods predict the incidence of dengue fever in Bangladesh. We create a dataset with 1000 observations overall that consists of 9 input attributes and 1 outcome attribute. The input attributes comprise clinical markers such as NS1, IgG, and IgM levels in addition to demographic data like age and gender. Our prediction algorithm also incorporates geospatial variables like district, size, and kind of place. The output property "Outcome" indicates if dengue fever has occurred; this is a binary classification operation. The predictive performance of six machine learning algorithms is assessed, including Logistic Regression, Random Forest, Decision Trees, AdaBoost, Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), and LightGBM. With an astounding 98.67% accuracy rate, Random Forest is the most accurate of these algorithms. Our results highlight the potential of machine learning methods, especially Random Forest, to accurately forecast the incidence of dengue illness in Bangladesh. With the use of these prediction models, dengue outbreaks may be detected early and managed proactively, allowing for the prompt deployment of resources and the execution of focused intervention techniques to lessen the disease's crippling effect on public health systems.Item NEMATICIDAL USE OF PLANT EXTRACTS AGAINST ROOT-KNOT (Meloidogyne javanica) OF TOMATO(HAJEE MOHAMMAD DANESH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY UNIVERSITY, DINAJPUR., 2008-12) Kibria, Md. Golam; S.M. Emdadul HassanStandard extracts of Bashak (Adhatoda vasica) and Pineapple (Ananas sp.), Pineapple (A4nanas sp.) and Mustard oil cake (Brassica campestris), Mustard oil cake (Brassica campestris) and Neem (Azadirachta indica), Neem (Azadirachta indica) and Dholkalmi (/pomoea fistulosa), Dholkalmi (Jpomoea fistulosa) and Marigold (Tagetes patula), Marigold (Tagetes patula) and rhizome of Ginger (Zingiber officinale) and all standard extracts along with a control were tested against root-knot of tomato caused by Meloidogyne javanica. Among the treatments, Bashak leaf extract and Pineapple extract gave superior result as it had increased shoot and root length as well as fresh weight of shoot and root correspondingly with the lowest galling incidence and development of L2, L3, Ly and adult female stage of Meloidogyne javanica in tomato. Better effect on plant growth characters with lower galling incidence and development of the nematode was observed with Pineapple extract and Mustard oil cake followed by Mustard oil cake and Neem leaf extract. Lower effect of plant growth characters was found with Neem leaf extract and Dhoikalmi leaf extract followed by Dholkalmi leaf extract and Marigold leaf extract. Marigold leaf extract and rhizome extract of Ginger as well as all standard extracts were also found effective compared to control. All extracts performed better in root dipping method than any other extracts used in seed treated method. Negative correlations between gall number with shoot and root length, shoot and root weight as well as positive correlations between gall number with eggmassess, L, and adult female under different treatments indicated the supcrior cffcct of the treatment as cnvisaged with the lowcr galling followed by the suppressive activities of the nematode.Item Pickaboo.com: a customer centric service provider in e-commerce industry in Bangladesh(IUB, 2018) Khan, Arifur Rahman; Kibria, Md. Golam; Islam, Md. Aminul; Alam, Rezwanul; Bashar, AbulThis case study examines Pickaboo.com as a customer-centric e-commerce platform in Bangladesh. The study highlights how Pickaboo.com has achieved competitive advantage through secure online transactions, efficient delivery management, customer-friendly return policies, and personalized digital marketing strategies. By utilizing its own logistics system, same-day delivery services, and data-driven customer insights, the company ensures convenience and satisfaction for consumers. The platform also leverages cookies, Google Analytics, social media, and email marketing to understand customer preferences and enhance engagement. The case demonstrates how technology integration, service quality, and customer-focused operations contribute to sustainable growth in Bangladesh’s rapidly expanding e-commerce industry.Item Problems and Prospects of Garments Sector in Bangladesh- an Overview in the Context of Recent Global Recession(East West University, 12/30/2009) Kibria, Md. GolamEmergence of the global market has heightened the role of trade in world economy and made industrialization as an integral system of global trade and production. Bangladesh economy at present is more globally integrated than at any time in the past. The MFA phase-out will lead to more efficient global realignments of the textile and clothing industry. After the introduction of Agreement on Textile and Clothing (ATC), the RMG industry of Bangladesh is facing new and unique challenges. The phase out was expected to have a negative impact on the economy of Bangladesh. But recent data reveals that Bangladesh absorbed the shock successfully and indeed RMG exports grew significantly. Due to a number of steps taken by the industry (e.g., successful in diversifying products and markets, increased backward integration, high level of investment, and supportive policy regime), Bangladesh still remains competitive in RMG exports even in this post phase-out period. But much more needs to be done (e.g., removal of structural impediments, establishment of training and research institute, sharing of knowledge and technology) in order to maintain the competitiveness in the RMG market.
