Item A REPORT ON ECONOMIC CONTRIBUTION OF SMALL SCALE DAIRY FARMING ON FAMILY LEVEL AT SOME SELECTED AREAS OF SIRAJGONJ AND PABNA DISTRICT(Chattogram Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Khulshi,Chattogram, 2014-01) Khalil, Md. IbrahimDairy products are the substantial contributor to food and protein supply of Bangladesh. Many indigenous small farmers are rearing dairy cattle in Bangladesh. Bangladesh is considered one of the most suitable countries in the world for dairy farming. Development of dairy has generated considerable employment through the production and marketing of dairy and dairy related products. This paper aims to identify whether small and medium dairy farming can be considered as an alternative income generating activity for the development of rural and urban poor peoples of Bangladesh. In study found that the dairy income in category1(1-30%) is 28.88% in category2 (31-60%)is 31.33% & category3 is 40% of their net income. Milk production ranged between 20-90 litres per day with most respondents producing between 30-60 litres per day. The average milk production per day per respondent was 44.35 litres per day/household. However the average milk production per cow per day of 11±2.5. Income or profit from the dairy enterprise was mainly used on the following activities, furnishing houses 16.7%, house construction/rehabilitation (29%), investing in other income generating activities (20.9%), Education and on other things (such food, health services etc) 23.4%.Item A Robust Text Dependent Speaker Identification Using Neural Responses from the Model of the Auditory System(Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, CUET, 7-Feb-2019) Khalil, Md. Ibrahim; Mamun, Nursadul; Akter, KhadijaSpeaker recognition is considered as a behavioral biometric to identify speaker’s identity based on their voice features. In this study, a new speaker identification system is proposed using the neural responses at the level of the auditory nerve (AN). For this, a very well-developed physiological based computational model of auditory periphery is used to simulate the neural responses for a given speech. The output, in the form of synapse responses, is then analyzed for the feature extraction. Neurograms are constructed for a range of characteristic frequencies from the output responses. Features are then calculated from the neurogram to train the system. The same extracted features for a given speaker are then used to identify the speaker in the testing phase. To test the reliability of the proposed system, the model has been tested both in quiet and noisy conditions. The results show that, neural response-based speaker identification system can substitute the existing technology and thus improve the performance for application of remote authentication and security system.Item Analysis of impact on IT personnel of outsourcing IT services in organization: a case study of procurement of IT services for “maintenance, upgradation and support services for BRTA-IS” in Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA)(BRAC University, 2015-12) Khalil, Md. Ibrahim; Mahboob, Dr. MononInformation technology outsourcing has been an increasingly important phenomenon in recent times. IT outsourcing refers to the use of a third party vendor to provide IT services that were previously provided internally. In recent years, information systems (IS) have become increasingly crucial to the ability of an organization to compete effectively. Outsourcing of IT functions in the organization has been prevailing in today’s business environment, and is used as a strategic incentive for the organization to reach organizational goals. The increasing importance of IS has placed a strain on the ability of an organization to produce and manage information in a timely, relevant, and cost effective manner. Many organizations have begun to rely more heavily on external vendors to meet their IS needs (outsourcing). Despite the growth of IT outsourcing and its promise to save costs, few studies have empirically examined the impact of IT outsourcing on cost savings. In fact, whether IT outsourcing will lead to cost reduction is largely an empirical question. IT outsourcing can save costs for firms through increased efficiency in IT operation and effective use of IT staff, due to vendors’ production cost advantage stemming from economies of scale. Relying on an external supplier for a resource may allow an organization to take advantage of economies of scale, thereby generating cost savings, but it also often means relinquishing some degree of control over that resource. Several factors must be considered by managers in order to make rational outsourcing decisions which do not adversely effect competitive strategy. The objective of this dissertation is to study the role change for IT personnel and the impact it has on the organization. IT personnel’s roles are changed with knowledge, and the impact would be there on the organization after the IS has been outsourced. The dissertation is based on a case study of procurement of services for “Maintenance, Upgradation and Support Services for BRTA-IS” in Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA). The key term were investigated; roles and responsibility change and the relationship with the service provider. Findings imply that outsourcing of IT functions can have severe impact on IT personnel’s role change. The study found support for the need of more job training for IT personnel. Although, existing literature emphasizes the need for service oriented knowledge, our findings also imply the demand for theoretical technical knowledge. The case study found support for a new role for IT personnel with the service providers. iii Several factors contribute to the challenge IT personnel with the service provider. For the case study, we purpose improvement points in order to make IT personnel perform their new role better.Item Comparative study of computerized management information system between public and private banking sector of Bangladesh : for human resourch management(© University of Dhaka, 2025-02-13) Khalil, Md. IbrahimOne hundred Cobb 500™ broiler chicks were used in a 28-day trial at Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) poultry research shed to study the effects of supplementation of water acidifier on performance parameters, carcass characteristics and serum lipoprotein level in commercial broiler. Birds were divided into five watery treatment groups designated as T0, T1, T2, T3 and T4 and each treatment was further divided into two replication having 20 birds per replicate. Acidifier was supplemented at 0%, 0.1%, 0.2%, 0.3% and 0.4% in water for different treatment groups respectively. All birds had free access to ad-libitum feeding and watering. Results indicated that, average daily weight gain was significantly (p<0.001) lower from 49.4 to 44.1 g/day at 2nd week and insignificantly (p>0.05) less from 62.5 to 59.6 g/day at 3rd week, but at the 4th week of age body weight gain increased insignificantly (p>0.05) 85.0 to 93.6 g/day at the level of acidifier supplementation increased from 0% to 0.4% in water compare to control group. The highest daily average weight gain 93.6g was recorded in T4 group and the lowest daily average weight gain 80.0g was recorded in T0 group at 4th week. Unlike to weight gain, feed intake differed significantly from 2nd (p<0.01), 3rd (p<0.05) and 4th (p<0.01) weeks of age at the level of acidifier supplementation increased. Feed intake decreased from 148.5g/day to 136.1g/day at 4th week of age at the level of acidifier supplementation increased from 0% to 0.4%. In the same week, the highest daily average feed intake 148.5g was recorded in T1 group and the lowest daily average feed intake 136.1g was recorded at T4 group. FCR was differed significantly at 2nd (p<0.001) and 4th (p<0.05) weeks of age at the level of acidifier supplementation increased and also dissimilar (p>0.05) at 3rd week in acidifier treatment group compare to control group. However, best FCR (1.4) was observed in the T4 group and worst FCR (1.8) was observed in the T0 group at 4th week of age. In case of water intake, acidifier was cause to decrease water intake significantly (p<0.001) from 2nd and 3rd weeks of age at the level of acidifier supplementation increased, but increased water intake significantly (p<0.05) at 4th week of age. The highest daily average water intake 375.0 ml was recorded at T4 group and the lowest daily average water intake 359.4 ml was recorded at T1 group. In addition to performance parameter, acidifier had significantly (p<0.001) decreased abdominal fat weight and significantly (p<0.01) increased gizzard weight. LDL and HDL level of blood serum were significantly (p<0.01) decreased at 4th week in acidifier supplementation group. However, supplementation of acidifier had no influence (p>0.05) on blood serum pH. It could therefore be inferred that, increasing levels of supplemental acidifier substantially improve performance parameter and carcass characteristics at later stage (During 4th week and onward) of commercial broiler with decreasing serum lipoprotein level (LDL and HDL).Item Factors and Strategies to Drive the Choice of Women Graduates to Enter Into Tourism and Hospitality Sector(Academy of Strategic Management Journal, 2019) Kobra, Mst. IbrahimIn the present world, people are becoming smarter because of technology. Lives in the world are now becoming easy for technology. People do work in seconds, they are involved with a lot of work, and they love multi-tasking. As a result, we use a digitalized dynamic system rather than a manual process. Many countries use technology for their everyday work. In this century our Bangladesh uses more technology rather than previously. People doing shopping online because it is much easier and this process decreases our valuable time and stress. For every work, we use the Internet via our devices like mobile, laptop, tab, etc. Websites and browsers are becoming more popular. People feel more comfortable when they do any work online or get any service online rather than manual processes. For example – the ticketing systems, admission processes are done online via the website. In other countries, people hire workers for their everyday work for houses. For searching a worker manually is a very hard process especially in city life like Dhaka city. When we hire a worker manually a lot of problems can be arising – security, schedule, information, timing, etc. For that – ‘Household Worker Hire Management’ system provide all the solutions to hire worker easily and handle all data of worker easily. The company can manage workers related to all data and serve service to the customer and run their business.Item Mitigation of arsenic from groundwater by air exposure and flocculation(© University of Dhaka, 2025-03-12) Khalil, Md. IbrahimThe present work is studied using agricultural waste sugarcane bagasse (SCB) for biosorption of phenol and phenolic compounds from water and industrial effluent as well the synthetic solutions of phenols used to develop the biosorption technique. The biosorption efficiency of agricultural solid waste bagasse to adsorb phenolic compounds phenol, ortho-chlorophenol (o-CPh), para-chlorophenol (p-CPh), and ortho, para-dichlorophenol (o,p-DCPh) from the solution system and industrial effluents under batch equilibrium conditions was investigated. The elemental ions of the biosorbent bagasse are identified by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. The biosorption technique has been carried out using batch experiment by the experimental parameters of biosorbent dose (0.5-5 g), contact time (upto 5 hrs), initial concentration of sorbates (0.5 to 10.0 mg/L), particle size of biosorbent, pH of system solutions (3 to 12) and operational temperature (30 to 50 ⁰C). The biosorption of phenolic compounds is raised with raising the pH from 3.0 to optimal value and then dramatically downize with raising the pH from that optimal value to avobe. The highest biosorption is achieved at pH 6.5 for phenol, ortho-chlorophenol and para-chlorophenol and at pH 6.0 for ortho, para-dichlorophenol. Biosorption equilibrium is established within 90 minutes for phenol and o-CPh and 120 minutes for p-CPh, and o,p-DCPh. The biosorption experimental data were employed to analyze in the isotherm and kinetic equations. The data found from experiments were fitted well into the pseudo first order kinetic equation, with the correlated coefficient (R 2 ) greater than 0.99 in all cases respectively. The maximum monolayer biosorption capacity of sugarcane bagasse for the selected phenolic compounds phenol, oCPh, p-CPh and o, p-DCPh has found to be 0.357, 0.361, 0.282 and 0.363 mg/g respectively, as calculated by the Langmuir isotherm equation at 30⁰C. The biosorbed compounds could be recovered by desorption with the help of 1M alkaline solution (NaOH) in all cases. After regenerations bagasse can be used as fuel purposes. The studies showed that the agricultural waste bagasse has the promise for use as an effective adsorbent material for biosorption of phenolic compounds from water and industrial effluents.
