Item Analyzing the Impact of Demographic Variables on Spreading and Forecasting COVID-19(Daffodil International University, 2021-09-16) Sharif, Omar; Islam, Md Rafiqul; Hasan, Md Zobaer; Kabir, Muhammad Ashad; Hasan, Md Emran; AlQahtani, Salman A.; Xu, GuandongThe aim of this study is to analyse the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak in Bangladesh. This study investigates the impact of demographic variables on the spread of COVID-19 as well as tries to forecast the COVID-19 infected numbers. First of all, this study uses Fisher’s Exact test to investigate the association between the infected groups of COVID-19 and demographical variables. Second, it exploits the ANOVA test to examine significant difference in the mean infected number of COVID-19 cases across the population density, literacy rate, and regions/divisions in Bangladesh. Third, this research predicts the number of infected cases in the epidemic peak region of Bangladesh for the year 2021. As a result, from the Fisher’s Exact test, we find a very strong significant association between the population density groups and infected groups of COVID-19. And, from the ANOVA test, we observe a significant difference in the mean infected number of COVID-19 cases across the five different population density groups. Besides, the prediction model shows that the cumulative number of infected cases would be raised to around 500,000 in the most densely region of Bangladesh, Dhaka division.Item Encryption Based Image Watermarking Algorithm in 2DWT-DCT Domains(Sensors, 2021-08-17) Hasan, Nayeem; Islam, Md Saiful; Chen, Wenyu; Kabir, Muhammad Ashad; Al-Ahmadi, SaadIn this work, we examine the privacy and safety issues of Internet of Things (IoT)-based Precision Agriculture (PA), which could lead to the problem that industry is currently experiencing as a result of Intellectual Property Theft (IPT). Increasing IoT-based information flow in PA will make a system less secure if a proper security mechanism is not ensured. Shortly, IoT will transform everyday lives with its applications. Intellectual Property (IP) is another important concept of an intelligent farming system. If the IP of a wise farming system leaks, it damages all intellectual ideas like cultivation patterns, plant variety rights, and IoT generated information of IoT-based PA. Thus, we proposed an IoT enabled SDN gateway regulatory system that ensures control of a foreign device without having access to sensitive farm information. Most of the farm uses its devices without the use of its integrated management and memory unit. An SDN-based structure to solve IP theft in precision farming has been proposed. In our proposed concept, a control system integrates with the cloud server, which is called the control hub. This hub will carry out the overall PA monitoring system. By hiring the farm devices in the agricultural system, these devices must be tailored according to our systems. Therefore, our proposed PA is a management system for all controllable inputs. The overall goal is to increase the probability of profit and reduce the likelihood of IPT. It does not only give more information but also improves information securely by enhancing the overall performance of PA. Our proposed PA architecture has been measured based on the throughput, round trip time, jitter, packet error rate, and the cumulative distribution function. Our achieved results reduced around (1.66–6.46)% compared to the previous research. In the future, block chain will be integrated with this proposed architecture for further implementation.Item SafetyMed: A Novel IoMT Intrusion Detection System Using CNN-LSTM Hybridization(MDPI Publications, 2023-08-22) Faruqui, Nuruzzaman; Yousuf, Mohammad Abu; Whaiduzzaman, Md.; Azad, AKM; Alyami, Salem A.; Liò, Pietro; Kabir, Muhammad Ashad; Moni, Mohammad AliThe Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) has become an attractive playground to cybercriminals because of its market worth and rapid growth. These devices have limited computational capabilities, which ensure minimum power absorption. Moreover, the manufacturers use simplified architecture to offer a competitive price in the market. As a result, IoMTs cannot employ advanced security algorithms to defend against cyber-attacks. IoMT has become easy prey for cybercriminals due to its access to valuable data and the rapidly expanding market, as well as being comparatively easier to exploit. As a result, the intrusion rate in IoMT is experiencing a surge. This paper proposes a novel Intrusion Detection System (IDS), namely SafetyMed, combining Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks to defend against intrusion from sequential and grid data. SafetyMed is the first IDS that protects IoMT devices from malicious image data and sequential network traffic. This innovative IDS ensures an optimized detection rate by trade-off between False Positive Rate (FPR) and Detection Rate (DR). It detects intrusions with an average accuracy of 97.63% with average precision and recall, and has an F1-score of 98.47%, 97%, and 97.73%, respectively. In summary, SafetyMed has the potential to revolutionize many vulnerable sectors (e.g., medical) by ensuring maximum protection against IoMT intrusion.
