Item A Clinical Report on Correction and Management of Genital Prolapse of Cow and Goat at Laksam Upazila in Cumilla(Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Chattogram-4225, Bangladesh, 2020-09) Islam, NahidulTwo cases were presented for treatment of genital prolapse were included in this study. Vaginal prolapse mostly occurred during advanced pregnancy and uterine prolapse following parturition. At the time of examination, the animal with uterine prolapse were recumbent, while that with vaginal prolapse was standing. Vaginal prolapse is a common obstetrical disorder for dairy cows throughout the country during 3rd trimester of gestation. However, there is no available published report on it in Bangladesh. A four years old Holstein Friesian cow was found at the village Kadra in Laksam Upazilla, Cumilla with a history of 7 months pregnancy and hanging mass outside the genital opening. By physical examination, it was confirmed as vaginal prolapse. The prolapsed mass was corrected manually and Buhner’s suture was applied parallel to vulva apart from vagina beneath the skin to keep it in position. The cow was followed for next 2 months. There found no evidence of recurrence and then it delivered a healthy female calf successfully without any complication. A case of uterine prolapse in a doe goat was found in Upazilla Veterinary Hospital, Laksam, Cumilla . The animal was brought to the hospital with complaint of prolapse of the uterus. The everted organ was carefully assessed and gross debris removed by washing with dilute chlorhexidine solution. Epidural anesthesia was achieved using lignocain solution. The prolapsed uterus was replaced and retention suture was placed on the vulva to prevent reprolapse. Oxytocin, dexamethasone, broad-spectrum antibiotics (penicillin and streptomycin) were administered intramuscularly. The animal was hospitalized for closed monitoring. There was no recurrence. Sutures were removed and the animal was discharged from the hospital.Item A pharmacovigilance study on FDA approved interleukin inhibitor-associated alopecia in the treatment of psoriasis(BRAC University, 2023-02) Islam, Nahidul; Talukder, MesbahFDA has approved about 12 biologics for treating psoriasis. Among them, TNF-α inhibitors have a history of causing alopecia while used for treatment. In our study, we tried to find out the relation between alopecia and the FDA-approved biologics that are interleukin inhibitors while treating psoriasis. In our study, we include data from FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) to find out Reporting Odds Ratio and Confidence Interval (CI). For interleukin inhibitors Ustekinumab, Guselkumab, Brodalumab, Ixekizumab and Secukinumab, the lower bound of CI were less than 1. We did not find any value for Tildrakizumab and Risankizumab. We did not find any signal for adverse event Alopecia. There are several cases available that says that, IL-17A causes alopecia when given to patients. More investigation is required to find out connection between them for the safety and find better alteration of these drugs if needed.Item An Evaluation of the Services Quality of Janata Bank Ltd.(Daffodil International University, 2019-01-10) Islam, NahidulAn Evaluation of the Services Quality of Janata Bank Limited. Prescription is mandatory for ordering medicines. Users can search for drugs and useful information according to the prescription. This application can provide information for the daily use of the drug. This application provides information on the side effects of drugs and allergies. This application provides users to login. They can manage their accounts.Item Effects of Water Content on Unconfined Compressive Strength of Clay(Daffodil International University, 2020-03-06) Hossain, Md. Mostofa Al; Islam, NahidulThe most significant index property of clay in the natural state is consistency. The water content has an extreme influence on consistency. At low water, content clay behaves more like a solid, but at high water content clay and water may flow like a viscous fluid. Depending on water content, the consistency can qualitatively be expressed as solid, semisolid, plastic, and liquid. Quantitatively the consistency can be expressed by the unconfined compressive strength (qu). In this research, the effects of water content on the unconfined confined compressive strength of two different clays are investigated. The samples, clay-1 is collected from Jashore, Bangladesh, and clay-2 is collected from Ashulia, Bangladesh. The clay-1 and clay-2 have a liquid limit and plastic limit of 33.0, 44.0, and 22.5, 26.0 respectively. The laboratory compaction tests revealed that the maximum dry unit weight of clay-1 is 17.20 kN/m3 and clay-2 is 16.16 kN/m3 . In the unconfined compressive strength tests, cylindrical specimens having a diameter of 38 mm and height of 76 mm are prepared at 90% of the maximum dry unit weight with varying water content in the range of plastic limit. The experimental results revealed that water content has extreme effects in the reduction of unconfined compressive strength and this reduction is predominant while water content reaches near the liquid limit. It is also observed that the unconfined compressive strength of clay has a linear relationship to the water content. It is expected that the output of this research can be used to predict the reduction of unconfined compressive strength with the changes of water content.Item Household Duck Rearing System and Their Comparative Performance Analysis : A Study in Laksam Upazila, Cum(Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Science University, 2020-09) Islam, NahidulThe study was conducted to know the present status, existing production system of duck and assess the potentiality of duck rearing in rural areas of Cumilla district in Bangladesh. Data were collected randomly from 50 duck rearing farmers using a pre-tested interview schedule during 13th October to 12th December, 2019 from several villages under Laksam Upazila of Cumilla. Beside this, socio-economic conditions of the farmers, feeding system and availability of feed for raising ducks, productive performances of scavenging ducks and profitability of raising those ducks were evaluated. In the study area most of the farmers were women. The level of education of farmers varied from primary to higher secondary. Most of the duck rearers (65%) were found primary educated. The average farm size was 75 (Stocking Density) and it always remains variable with the duck’s loss attributed to different causes. About 40% of the farmers housed their ducks in wood and tin made cage while the rest of the farmers kept ducks in house made of bamboo, tin, brick or mud. Duck reaches first laying at 6 months of age, produces average 110 eggs per year. Egg production reaches peak during winter especially after crop-harvesting season. Approximately 10% respondents said that they do not spend any money on supplementary feed. The mortality rate was 19% and it is highest in winter (27%). Duck were vaccinated against duck plague mainly. Around 80% households sold eggs to the local market and 20% sold to the bepari and others. Total annual expenditure and annual income per duck were on an average 453-taka and 1450 taka, respectively. It can be concluded that duck rearing knowledge of the farmers such as breeding, feeding, housing, prevention and control of diseases are not satisfactory of this area. Introducing of improved duck breeds/varieties, training to duck farmers, ensuring vaccination to ducks, financial and technical support to the farmers could increase the duck rearing with increased household income and employment to youth, rural women and the small-holder marginal farmers.Item Hybrid Deep Learning Approach for Sweet Orange Leaf Disease Detection Using CNN and Vision Transformers(Daffodil International University, 2025-01-13) Islam, NahidulSweet orange leaf diseases significantly threaten agriculture, necessitating accurate and timely detection for sustainable farming. This study presents a hybrid deep learning approach combining Vision Transformers (ViT) and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) for classifying sweet orange leaf diseases. The methodology includes data preprocessing, such as resizing, normalization, and augmentation, to enhance dataset quality and prepare it for deep learning models. Three models—ViT, ResNet50v2, and the hybrid ViT-CNN—were implemented and evaluated. The hybrid ViT-CNN model achieved the highest test accuracy of 98%, surpassing the individual performances of ViT (90%) and ResNet50v2 (97%), with consistent training and validation accuracies of 97%. The hybrid model integrates the localized feature extraction of CNNs with the global contextual capabilities of ViTs, enabling superior disease classification. This research highlights the scalability and robustness of the hybrid approach, addressing dataset scarcity and computational efficiency challenges. Implemented on Google Colaboratory, the system is optimized for deployment in resource-constrained environments, ensuring accessibility for small-scale farmers. The findings contribute to precision agriculture by reducing crop losses, minimizing pesticide use, and promoting sustainable practices. This study establishes a reliable framework for agricultural disease detection, paving the way for advancements in AIdriven solutions for broader crop management applications.Item Interconnected Split-Ring Resonator with Enclosed F Shape Metamaterial Absorber for Wireless Technology(International Islamic University Chittagong, 2024-02) Islam, NahidulThis study proposes a metamaterial absorber (MMA) based on rotational symmetry to design a wide-angle, polarization-insensitive wireless system for S, C, X, and Ku bands. The MMA comprises electric ring resonators (ERR) arranged in a single layer with four-fold interconnected rotational symmetry, fabricated using FR-4 substrate. In the frequency range of 4 to 18 GHz, the MMA shows five distinct absorption peaks. Notably, absorption levels at 4.882 GHz, 6.464 GHz, 7.882 GHz, 11.3 GHz, and 17.216 GHz reach 99.3%, 94.9%, 94.5%, 98.7%, and 92.5%, respectively. The compact unit cell, with dimensions of 0.162λ×0.162λ×0.026λ at 4.882 GHz, achieves 99% mean absorptivity. Furthermore, the MMA exhibits stable absorption characteristics across azimuth and elevation angles (phi= 0 to 90 degrees, Theta = 0 to 60 degrees). Resonances demonstrate near-zero or negative refractive index traits, offering tunable multifunctionality. The MMA's compactness, high effective medium ratio (EMR), negative permittivity, permeability, and near-zero refractive index make it suitable for various wireless applications, enhancing gain and antenna directivity in fixed-mobile and multiband scenarios.
