ShohelThe student’s performance plays an important role in producing the best quality graduate who will responsible for the country’s economic growth and social development. The labor market also concerns with student’s performance because the fresh graduate students are considered as an employee depends on their academic performance. So, identification of the reason behind student’s performance variation provides valuable information for planning education and policies. Many researchers try to find out the reason with different types of data mining approaches in different countries. However, none of them worked with Bangladeshi students. This paper proposed a model for identifying the key factors of variation Bangladeshi students’ academic performance and predicts their results. This paper proposes a model which able to identify the students who need special attention. Different types of feature selection methods were used such as Co-relation, Chi-Square and Euclidean distance to select valuable features and feature selections result through decision tree, Naive Bayes, K-nearest neighbor and Artificial Neural Network classifiers algorithm were compared. The performance analysis is done by using student SGPA and review on given facilities from a university. From the performance analysis result it is found that, decreasing number of classes in dataset, the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) (93.70%) performs better than Decision Tree (DT) (92.18%), K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) (77.74%) and Naïve Bayes (NB) (68.33%). To attain the position in rural region, a firm has to face challenges like, underdeveloped people, market, infrastructure, low communication facility, income and seasonal demand, low literacy rate, traditional life style etc. make the life of a marketer tougher to design the strategy. Shariful; Ahmed, Mushfique; Mazurndar, Quamrul HasanAbout 97% Bangladeshi people use tube well water for drinking purposes. In recent time, this water has been found to contain arsenic concentration above the permissible limit. Arsenic contaminated groundwater has already become a health hazard for a large part of the population. People with long-term exposure to arsenic polluted groundwater have been affected by arsenicosis as well as related complications; and some people are reported to have died. To mitigate the arsenic contaminated groundwater problem, a sustainable mitigation is needed in the country immediately. From this point of view, an attempt has been taken to develop a sustainable mitigation technique in the present research. The developed mitigation system has been implemented in Rajarampur, a severely arsenic affected village of Chapainawabganj district. Rajarampur was selected as the site for field implementation as it has now been established as a hotspot of arsenic contaminated groundwater. It is a semi-urban locality of Nawabganj Municipality situated in northwestern Bangladesh. Physiographically, the study area lies within Ganges-Mahananda flood plain characterized by gentle topography with a mean elevation ranges from 20 meter to 25 meter. Geologically, it lies in the Rangpur Platform, which is a stable part of the Bengal Basin. Stratigraphically, the study area is characterized by a thick sequence of Cretaceous to Recent sediments overlying the Archean basement thickness of the Quaternary sediment of the area is, 60 meter to 111 meter. In the early 1990s, high concentrations of arsenic were first reported in the groundwater of Chapainawabganj of Bangladesh. It is estimated that about 25 million people are exposed to arsenic contamination, 59 districts out of 64 have arsenic contaminated groundwater, 249 upazilas out of 467 affected, and over 7000 patients have been identified. About 27% of shallow tube wells exceed the Bangladesh standard limit (0.05 ppm) and 42% exceed the WHO guideline value (0.01) for arsenic in drinking water. In the Rajarampur village, the arsenic concentration ranges from 0.035 to 1.08 ppm. On basis of regional groundwater development potentiality, the study area is characterized by simple geology comprising younger alluvium. According to the UNDP Classification (1982), the area belongs to zone F, which covers the flood plain of Rajshahi district. National Water Plan of WARPO (former MPO), however, puts the area in the catchment area no 31 of planing area no 12 of the NW region in the Catchment Planing and Regions Map of Bangladesh. According to the geological cross sections constructed on the basis bore log data, it is inferred that the aquifer of study area is more of less confined. The aquifer mostly overlies the Barind Clay layer, and sometimes the Trap Wash. According to the BOS & MML, there are three known water-bearing layers in the area. The thickness of these layers are 1 0 to 50 meter, 20 meter and 10 to 60 meter respectively The horizontal/vertical permeability of these layers is 1/0.1 to 10/1 m/d, to 20/2 mid and 1/0.1 to 50/5 mid respectively. The confined/unconfined storage of these layers is 0.001/0.1 to 0.1, 0.001/0.15 and 0.001/0.2 respectively. The porosity of these the layers is 0.1, 0.4 and .04. From the chemical analyses of groundwater of the study area it shows that the pH of groundwater ranges from 7.5 to 9.8; EC concentration ranges from 550 μSiem to 745 ~tS/cm; TDS concentration ranges from 357.5 ppm 484.25 ppm; Ca2+ concentration ranges from 67 .13 ppm to 150 ppm; Mg2+ from 2 ppm to 41.63 ppm; Na+ from 1.25 ppm to 15 ppm; K+ from 0.3 to 7.2 ppm; Fe total from 0.11 ppm to 6.4 ppm; HCO3- from 273 ppm to 483 ppm; er from 12.00 ppm to 23.37 ppm; so/· from 0.00 ppm to 1.00 ppm; NO3- from 0.00 ppm to 1.00 ppm; As from 0.035 ppm to 1.8 ppm; and the total hardness from 239.46 ppm to 367.68 ppm.------Item Comparative Study of Mechanistic Behavioral Analysis for Flexible Pavement Using Finite Element Modelling(Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), Islamic University of Technology(IUT), 2022-05-30) Islam, Md. The distribution of contact stresses between tires and the pavement surface has a big impact on how pavement distresses start and spread. Hence, to accurately and exactly describe pavement responses, the distribution of contact stresses ought to be 1st investigated thoroughly. Pavement is a complicated structure made up of numerous layers of various materials that determine how it behaves under stress. Finite Element Modelling (FEM) is becoming a more prominent tool for researchers to solve complex structural mechanics problems in engineering. There is currently a shift toward more mechanistic design methodologies in pavement analysis to reduce the limits in calculating stress, strain, and displacement. We used ABAQUS software to perform flexible pavement finite element analysis in our study. This research aims to learn more about the stress-strain characteristics of asphalt pavement by examining a variety of traffic and loading parameters, as well as their relationships with pavement distress and failure initiation. Careful creating of 3D models or objects is carried out within 3D software for exporting picture sequences giving them the illusion of animation. Animation is important for all above the sector. Like: Education sector, architecture sector, historical sector etc. That’s why we choose visualization of 3D animation and also view detailing every models with “Augmented Reality” and “Virtual Reality”. From the beginning of our university life, we have a group. which group attached with a professional workflow. In our final project, we decide to do something for our university that's why we choose to do 3d visualization of Daffodil International University, permanent campus(Ashulia) by following the master plan of Daffodil International University 2040. The work that will have all our project implemented. We start DIU Educational Smart City from the masterplan AutoCAD layout, complete the model using by Max, Maya, and SketchUp. Lumion plays a role competing render the whole project and unity takes for Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. And the building track by Adobe After Effect and finally, composition of the animation was done using Premiere Pro. Music and voice over were adopted for the presentation of the project in a professional manner. In this project, we can find an overview architectural visualize of Daffodil Educational Smart City 2040 with 3D Animation and also view Augmented Reality(AR) and Virtual Reality(VR).Item Determinants of Stunting During the First 1,000 Days of Life in Bangladesh(Food Science and Nutrition, John Wiley & Sons, 2020-06-30) Islam, Md. Shariful; Ullah, Abu Naser Zafar; Mainali, Shristi; Imam, Md. Akhter; Hossain, Md. ImranStunting is a major problem in Bangladesh, with a prevalence of 31% in 2017. The prevalence of stunting in children aged under two has reduced by only 6% since 2004. After children reach 2 years of age, the consequences of stunting become almost irreversible. This paper seeks to examine and analyze the determinants associated with stunting during the first 1,000 days of life in Bangladesh to assist in developing evidence‐based interventions in Bangladesh. A literature review was conducted comprehensively on all relevant peer‐reviewed and gray literature of studies conducted in Bangladesh. The existing literature was searched and examined using the World Health Organization (WHO) conceptual framework for stunting. Evidence indicates that low maternal weight, lack of maternal education, severe food insecurity, lack of access to suitable nutrition, nonexclusive breastfeeding, pathogen‐specific diarrhea, and low weight and height at birth are associated with early childhood stunting in Bangladesh. The relation of the quality of drinking water with stunting is not clear in Bangladesh. Literature about the association between stunting and determinants such as the political economy, education systems, and agriculture and food systems is not found. This synthesis shows that the factors of stunting are multifaceted. As such, a multi‐sectoral approach is essential in Bangladesh, employing evidence‐based interventions to address the determinants that contribute to the risk of stunting to achieve the global nutrition target by 2025.Item Development of electric stove for smart use of Solar Photovoltaic energy with national grid(BRAC University, 2013-12) Islam, Md. Still a lot of fossil fuels are being consumed directly or indirectly just for cooking and hence affecting the global environment. With the rapid increase in demand of energy for cooking with proportion to population increase, it will not take much time to finish all the resources that are available now. According to the thesis, energy for cooking is mostly supplied from solar photovoltaic panels in alliance with national grid line. The major contribution of this project will be the invention of re-designing existing stove coil. The national grid will be in action only when, panel and battery are not giving sufficient power to the load. An Electric Charge Controller will ensure safety of the system and store charge in the Battery. The research given in this thesis aims at analyzing the time requirement for cooking same foods in comparison with the gas or normal electric stove. To show the effectiveness as compared to natural gas or electric stove, the thesis contains a huge statistical data, taken for a number of times. Modification of the stove for providing variable energy to cook different food is the future work of the thesis.Item Development of the Pre Seeding Decision Support System Based on IOT in Agriculture(East West University, 8/18/2017) Jannat, Kazi Saymatul; Islam, Md. The pH of soil varies in very few inches. Farmers of our country are not trained enough to find out it. The Internet of Things is one of the technological advances which can provide a solution to this problem. IOT is a revolutionary technology which aims to extend internet to large number of distributed devices by defining standard, interoperable communication protocols. This paper brings up with this solution by IOT for removing the difficulties of farmers in our country. This paper will help the farmers to find out all possible grains for the specific soil. It will give them a very fast process which will definitely save their time. This project is highlighted the features including pH sensor, mobile app, frontend, hardware and backend analysis system. The pH sensor transfers the data via Bluetooth to mobile or other devices including Bluetooth connection such as laptop. For selling a product a ecommerce owner use different platform like Google, Facebook, YouTube and others for advertising their product or website but the problem is happen when a sells occur and it's hard to understand from which platform the visitor is coming and make a purchase. If the website owner can understand from which platform the sells is happen then they can increase their budget for adverting which is increase their conversion rate. For fusing these ideas, I thought to build something tracking for ecommerce website Which is helpful for website owner to better understand their customer acquisition like which ads platform they use to land on this website or they land organically to the website and make a purchase. My project name is “Ecommerce Website with Ecommerce Tracking”. Working on the Ecommerce Website with Tracking provided me with valuable experience for my future career. Handling real client problems was a key part of this learning process. Shariful; Islam, Khaleda; Roy, TapashRohingyas—an ethnic and religious minority of Rakhine State—have long been subject to unspeakable suppression and atrocities from the Myanmar authorities [1]. These Rohingya populations were stripped off their citizenship rights, forcing them to live as stateless citizen within their own country. In addition, there were serious discrimination, marginalization, and denial of their enjoyment of basic human rights, which led to repeated mass migration to Bangladesh [2]. Since August 2017, there have been further escalation of violence and suppressive activities in the Rakhine State, which resulted in massive exodus of nearly a million of Rohingya population into Bangladesh. They joined to >200,000 residual Rohingyas who are already liv- ing in two megacamps in the south-east district Cox’s Bazar [3, 4]. Despite the remarkable efforts from the Government of Bangladesh, United Nations, and their partners, the majority of the Rohingya refugees are still living in desperate and overcrowded conditions. Makeshift life in camps poses challenges to their cultural, religious, and gender norms, traditions, and identities. Although the basic health services are generally adequate and well-organized, the mental health and social care services are quite rudimentary [4]. Conse- quently, the mental health and psychological conditions among refugees remained unaddressed, rather they continue to deteriorate further. These limitations of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) services are making the refu- gees psychosocially vulnerable and putting extra pressure on their already unstable minds [4].Item Feature Selection and Classification of Spinal Abnormalities to Detect Low Back Pain Disorder Using Machine Learning Approaches(1st International Conference on Advances in Science, Engineering and Robotics Technology, IEEE, 2019-05-05) Islam, Md. Shariful; Asaduzzaman, Md.; Rahman, Mohammad MasudurWith the advent of computational intelligence, the analysis of medical data using machine learning techniques benefits accurate classification of different health diseases and disorders. However, disorganization and variability of data make the job difficult. This paper has streamlined an ensemble learning approach for classification of low back pain disorder based on spinal abnormality data of 310 patients with 12 features. To overwhelm the misleading effect of inappropriate attributes, most influential features are identified using evolutionary feature elimination method. Experiments are performed in both way- with or without feature filtering. The basic machine learning algorithms used in the work: Logistic regression, Decision Tree, Naive Bayes, and in addition to the Random Forest ensemble learning method. SharifulPlasmonic sensors are gaining in popularity as a research topic due to their potential to overcome a number of electronic device flaws. Surface Plasmon Polaritons (SPPs) are a promising choice for producing highly accurate biosensors due to their unique optoelectronic characteristics that exceed the diffraction limit at a nanometer scale. Plasmonic refractive index sensors based on MIM waveguides are gaining popularity for their molecular binding and instant label-free detection. We attempted to develop a plasmonic sensor for the refractive index that had a high degree of sensitivity and optical features that could be tuned. The initial attempted designs along with their performance has been discussed as well. An elaborate physical mechanism of the observed sensor performance i.e. energy streamlines, transmittance spectrum, surface power flow intensity, magnetic and electric field distributions, and sensor performance has been shown here. Shariful; Mashud, Dr. MohammadThe objective of this work is to study the SETE as an alternative flow control technique for lift enhancement at a small drag penalty in cruise flight. The geometrical quantities, chord distribution and other properties are given in convenient analytical expressions.The experiment was about to enhance the lift of NACA0012 airfoil with static extended trailing edge (SETE). A thin sheet was introduced to the wing trailing edge as a mechanical device without changing the basic configuration of the wing. Calculations were done to compare the coefficient of lift using static extended trailing edge (SETE) with those of using flap. The effects of SETE on the wing aerodynamics are mainly due to modifications of the airfoil camber and the flow structure at the trailing edge. The lift enhancement by the SETE is, expectedly, due to the camber effect. It is speculated that the drag penalty of the SETE is small because it is usually embedded in the wake of the main airfoil. Experimental results are presented, including the lift and drag coefficient of the baseline NACA0012 airfoil model and of model with the SETE and Gurney flaps. The lift enhancement is achieved by the SETE, whereas the drag polar and lift-to-drag ration remains largely unchanged. The zero-lift drag and Oswald’s efficiency are not significantly affected by the SETE. The benefit analysis for the SETE in cruise flight is given in comparison with Gurney flap.Item Insights from Quality Control Department in the Ready-Made Garments Industry in Bangladesh A case study at Jannat Fashion(Department of Business and Technology Management(BTM), Islamic University of Technology(IUT), Board Bazar, Gazipur-1704, Bangladesh, 2025-10-25) Islam, Md. SharifulExecutive Summary This report gives an overview of my three-month internship at Jannat Fashion, a well-known garment factory. The main purpose of this internship was to get practical skills and real work experience in Quality Control (QC). I worked under the guidance of Mr. Harun Or Rashid and with academic help from Ms. Tahani Tahmid. I worked as an Assistant Quality Controller in the QC department. My main duties were: Checking raw materials, Watching the production process, Finding product defects, Making sure finished garments matched company and buyer standards. I also learned how to use quality control methods and how to write proper records to keep products consistent. To do my work, I joined inspections, observed work on-site, talked with production staff, and checked quality rules. These tasks helped me understand the full garment-making process, and I saw how important QC is for keeping customers happy and reducing waste. From this internship, I learned that checking at every stage of production is very important. I also saw how standard rules and clear communication between teams help keep quality high. At the same time, I faced some real challenges, such as time pressure, mistakes made by people, and the need for teamwork. In the end, this internship gave me useful experience and helped me connect what I learned in class with real work in the industry. The paper argues that International Relations as a discipline is basically about the studies of the ‘big powers’ or the ‘powerful’. HasanThe software has turn into an imperious part of human’s life. In the recent computing era, many large-scale complex network systems and millions of modern technological devices produce a huge amount of data every second. Among these data, the amount of imbalanced data is relatively excessive. The machine learning model is miss leaded by these imbalanced data. Software Defect Prediction (SDP) is a standout amongst the most helping exercises during the testing phase. The estimated cost of finding and fixing defects is approximately billions of pounds per year. To reduce this problem, software defect prediction has come forth but need fine tuning to have expected efficiency. In this chapter, we have proposed a new model based on machine learning approach to predict software defect and identify the key factors that may help the software engineer to identify the most defect-prone part of the system. The proposed model works as follows. First, need to remove highly correlated features and turn all the feature in the same scale using the scaling feature approach. Second, we have used Synthetic Minority Over-Sampling Technique (SMOTE), Adaptive Synthetic (ADASYN) and Hybrid sampling method to balance highly imbalanced datasets. Third, Random Forest Importance and Chi-square algorithms are chosen to find out the factors which have high effect on software defect. Cross validation is used to remove overriding problem. Scikit-learn library is used for machine learning algorithms. Pandas library is used for data processing. Matplotlib, and PyPlot are used for graph and data visualization respectively. The hybrid sampling method and Random Forest (RF) algorithms achieved the highest prediction accuracy about 93.26% by showing its superiority.
