    An assessment of customer expectation from online hotel booking service: a study on Jovago.net

    The report is prepared to analyze some aspect of Jovago Bangladesh Limited and evaluates these aspects. As Jovago is a new company the information is very scarce. My report entitled “An Assessment of Customer Expectation from Online Hotel Booking Service: A Study on Jovago.net”. Main finding of this report is to know the customers insight of online hotel booking platform. Online hotel booking platform is a new type of business for Bangladeshi people. People did not experience this kind of service till now. So as for Jovago it is very important to know the customers view. This report will give an insight of customer’s perspective. To make report valuable a research has been conduct to know the potential customers. This report will help Jovago to build effective strategies as well as providing right directions.

    Electrical Load Forecasting Using Fuzzy System

    In this project work, we develop a Fuzzy system to forecast electrical load in both short and longterm basis. Here, we consider temperature, humidity, seasons of a year and time segments of a day as the parameters govern the demand of electrical load. For each of the parameter, we use several membership functions (MF) as necessary then apply Mamdani rule on MF and the output is determined by using centroid method. Finally, the surface plot reveals the real scenario of the load demand. The concept of the paper can be applied in interconnected power system of Bangladesh to reduce power loss especially when generation is higher than the demand.

    Higher Secondary Students’ Perspective of a Good English Language Teacher: A Conceptual Study in Bangladeshi Context

    Success is the most venerable thing to any professional in their respected profession and hence knowing the pros and cons of a profession, most significantly what is desired by your target group matters immensely. Talking about teaching, more specifically in the ELT profession, that statement also passes as a common trait of this profession as well. A good English language teacher (GELT) certainly has some traits both personal and professional which are also duly acknowledged and understood by their students; they are the direct receiver of the teacher’s provided inputs. Hence this study was initiated to investigate the perspective of the students of a good English language teacher. Higher secondary level students were chosen for the study as they are considered as the group who will be able to give a good insight to the matter as they are standing at the doorway of higher education. Total 120 students of higher secondary level of Safiuddin Sarker Academy School and College were chosen as the target group for the study. And the instrumentations designed for this study were survey questionnaire (Likert scale statement) and students’ written report to collect the required data. After collecting and analyzing the data, this study, despite some obstacles, did succeed in meeting its objective of finding the most desired quality of a GELT by the higher secondary level students of Bangladesh. It has found both personal and professional qualities, namely having a pleasant and friendly personality with great student motivating capability, being an expert of English grammar and literature with a strong command over Spoken English, having a great sense of humour and wit, sound knowledge of ELT approaches and methods, strong classroom control and an impartial judgment of the students’ achievement as the most desired qualities of a GELT by their students. However, it has also found some bad qualities of the practicing teachers like intolerant of students’ mistake, being not punctual, losing temper, speaking fast, making speaking and pronunciation mistakes and inefficient time management etc. which an aspiring GELT should try to avoid at all costs. Hence this study considers its outcomes very important and to some significant extent helpful and valuable for the aspiring English language teachers, ELT practitioner and policy makers and researchers.

    Integrated physiological model of virtual diabetic patient for machine learning research

    Diabetes management consists of two major tasks: forecasting the blood glucose trend and taking a therapeutic decision. Due to the advancement of sensor technologies, it becomes easy to obtain continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and physical activity data along with logging of diet and injected insulin information. These data of the diabetic patient are being leveraged by applying machine learning (ML) strategies to obtain future trajectories of glucose level which contains no explanation. This thesis is aimed to produce physiological explanation from ML-based forecasting of glucose concentration by operation research (OR). For producing forecasting, ML-based model is trained using CGM profile with diet and activity information of a type-2 diabetic patient. Due to unavailability in the literature, a constraint-based comprehensive glucose dynamics model integrated with other physiological models of external stimuli is also aimed to build for OR. An integrated physiological model consisting of glucose regulation and models of external stimuli is considered as a composition of several compartments separately connected with a common compartment named ‘plasma’. Plasma is the only accessible compartment and contains the state variables. Plasma variables are the integrated result of the net change in rates of metabolic processes and basal rates are influenced between two saturation constraints for an operating range of each variable. The influence of a plasma variable on a metabolic rate is represented using a form of the hyperbolic tangent function. Validation is done by fitting the model with clinical experiments and CGM data of a free-living environment. A feed-forward neural network (FFNN) being trained on CGM data along with diet and activity log is used to produce forecasting. The proposed constraint-based glucose regulation model of this thesis is optimized on the forecasting of FFNN with sequential quadratic programming using preestimated personalized constraints. The proposed integrated physiological model generates an average correlation coefficient of 0.84±0.12 on all simulated responses with the target in the fitting experiments. Besides this, the model can produce a spectrum of metabolic effects of plasma variables for showing more insight into glucose metabolism. Both OR response and ML forecasting are compared with real glucose profiles. Though increased RMSE is obtained for OR response in comparison to ML forecasting, an acceptable accuracy is found in Clarke Error Grid Analysis. ML-based forecasting of glucose profile is transformed into optimized glucose trend with physiological interpretation. The interpretation is visualized in a metabolic spectrum derived from a constraint-based comprehensive glucose regulation model. The adopted hybrid approach is capable of encapsulating both generalization of ML and the explanation of the physiological approach.

    Modeling and Performance Analysis of 1.55 µm Quantum Well Edge Emitting Laser Based on InGaN

    The advent of research work for longer wavelength 1.55 µm lasers, InGaN advances fast due to its compatible band gap energy and excellent properties. These lasers are well-suited and ideally matched with the existing fiber optic infrastructures as well as bandwidth of the modern ultra speed communication system with substantially tower attenuation, transmission losses, waveform degradation and dispersion penalty. In this thesis, a study is conducted on the design of 1.55 µm InGaN quantum well laser to investigate the effects on various design parameters for the better performance and to deduce an optimum laser structure. The study is separated into stages; it begins with an extensive review on the lasers in chronological order, followed by the development of the laser model with the analysis of band structure interpolation model as well as laser characterization Next, the thermal and equivalent circuit modeling is presented to investigate the temperature effect and electrical properties of the laser respectively. Careful analysis of the band profile by solving one-dimensional time independent Schrodinger and Poisson's equations using finite difference method is 4 demonstrated. The thermal and circuit-level laser modeling is also developed by solving the respective rate equations. Matlab as well as PSPICE simulation programming languages are employed for numerical analysis. The simulation and analysis results reveal the energy separation between different band and subbands for quantum well laser. It is observed that the electron density in conduction band is 1018cm-3 It is also found a better efficiency (59%), reduced threshold current density (1,1 19A/cm2), and bias voltage (1.1 volts), high optical gain (9,000 cm-1), moderate material gain (3,660 cm-1) and modal gain (45 cm-1). In addition, threshold current, 5.1 mA, output power, 5mW, and slope efficiency, 0.695W/A are obtained. Further understanding of the laser performance with different ambient temperatures the thermal effects has been analyzed. It is found that the threshold current has been increased to 5.5mA at the same ambient. Finally, the circuit level equivalent circuit demonstrates the electrical properties of the laser.

    SS food limited (Silvee food & consumer products limited) is a big industry in our Bangladesh. There is a lot of product manufacture and marketing in different side in our country. In beverage sector there is a lots of product like lichi drinks, mango juice, mango lolly, etc. In drying section they have potato cheeps, chanachur, fried peas, masoor dal, puffed rice, egg noodles etc. Microbiology is the learning of the microorganisms which inhibit, create, and contaminate food, also including the research of microorganisms causing food spoilage, pathogen that may cause disease especially if food is inappropriately cooked or stored, those used to produce fermented foods such as cheese, yogurt, bread, beer, and wine, and those with other useful roles such as produce probiotics. Food safety is a major point of food microbiology. several agents of disease, pathogens, are readily transmitted via food, including bacteria, and viruses. Microbial toxins are also possible contaminants of food. Though, microorganisms and their products can also be used to combat these pathogenic microbes. Probiotic bacteria, including those that produce bacteriocins, can kill and reduce pathogens. .Most common bacteria those are found in foods are Salmonella, Listeria monocytogenes, Escherichia coli, Clostridium botulinum. Salmonella Bacteria found in some meat, poultry and eggs that, if undercooked, can cause illness. Salmonella found in animals’ intestinal tracts, and is generally transmitted through infected animal feces.

    STUDY ON CASTRTION AND ITS EFFECTS ON BODY WEIGHT IN GOAT

    The present study was undertaken on castration. A total of 9 buck kids were castrated to evaluate the body weight gain and incidence of age and complications of castration. Castration was done by two methods. The Group1 and Group2 was done by open and the Group3 was done by close method. Group 2 was significantly (P<0.01, 0.05) higher live weight gain and have no complication. The incidence of age of castration is about 1 month to below 2 months. The study was conducted with the aim of effects of castration and to compare its two method having complications. The value of Group 2 was 8.2 kg. The other two groups were 5.58 and 4.56 respectively

    STUDY ON FEED CONVERTION RATIO OF COMMERCIAL BROILERS

    The study was conducted at the village of Sotodarogarhat at Sitakunda upazilla in Chittagong district for a period of 31 days from 1st January 2013 to 31 January 2013 in two intensive broiler farms to know feed the intake, liveweight, weight gain & feed conversion ratio of commercial broilers. In this study, it could be seen that at 5th weeks of age of boiler the total feed intake /bird were 3023.5 gm and 2962 gm. In farm the feed conversion efficiency was 1.46 and 1.34 in farm -1 and farm -2,for Lohman and Cobb500, respectively. It could also seen that the broilers of farm-2 grow faster at 4th week to 5th weeks of age than the broiler of farm-2.

    STUDY ON MANAGEMENT, BIOSECURITY AND MARKETING SYSTEM OF BROILER FARMS AT PHULPUR UPAZILA IN MYMENSINGH DISTRICT

    A study report was undertaken with a view to partial fulfilment of the requirement for the Degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) on “Farm management, Biosecurity and marketing system of broiler farms at Phulpur Upazila under Mymensingh District”. I collected the relevant data for the study from 20 February 2022 to 20 April 2022, while I was residing at Phulpur Upazila during internship placement. I actively worked on the farm during this time and used an interview schedule to gather information about the farm management, biosecurity and marketing system as well as prospects and challenges of the Phulpur Upazila's broiler farming enterprises. In Phulpur Upazila, there are numerous broiler farms, and the proprietors of these farms are interested in raising broilers in a farming system for monetary earnings and make themselves economic solvency. With an average flock size found about 1308 birds over the working time, the estimated average cost, gross and net profit was estimated Tk. 269,470; Tk. 333,278 and Tk.63,808 respectively for per batch per broiler farm. Which is indicated broiler farming a profitable enterprising in the study areas. Most of farm owners sold their birds to urban poultry traders and wholesalers. However, they constantly pose a threat to continue rearing broilers due to a number of challenges they have, including a lack of electricity, poor feed, poor chicks, high chick mortality, transportation issues, etc. As a result, while the possibility was great, the facility was extremely low. They would be more motivated to set up large-scale broiler farms throughout the year if the challenges could be resolved.

    STUDY ON PRODUCTIVE AND REPRODUCTIVE PERFORMANCES OF LOCAL AND CROSSBREED COWS IN RAMGATI UPAZILA IN LAKHIPUR

    The study was the productive and reproductive performances of indigenous and crossbreeds dairy cattle in Ramgati Upazilla in Lokhipur. The farmers of the study areas are rearing both indigenous and crossbreed cows. The result of the collected data different reproductive performances of those cow such as age at puberty 26.58 months, age at first calving 37.38 months, service per conception 1.8, calving interval 12.7 months, days required to first heat during postpartum period 109.31 days and gestation length 282.34 days. In this study some data were recorded to observe the production performances of those cows. Milk production and lactation length was 6.6 liter/day and 249.86 days, respectively. The maximum milk production was 12 liter/day/cow and the minimum production was 2.00 liter/day/cow supplied some amount of concentrate along with roughage.The productive and reproductive performance variation of dairy cows in our country .In rural level it is more noticeable as there have no any proper management ,proper feed supply and laking of proper veterinary care.

    SURGICAL MANAGEMENT OF GID DISEASE IN GOAT AT PHULPUR UPAZILA IN MYMENSINGH DISTRICT

    This case report aimed to explain a surgical procedure used to remove a brain cyst from a goat with coenurosis. If the sickness is not surgically treated, it produces serious nerve indications that can cause output losses and even death. Clinical tests revealed that a three-year-old female Black Bengal goat weighing around 20 kg had gid, and it was decided to undertake surgery to remove brain cysts. The surgical region was trimmed, shaved, and immersed in tincture iodine after being aseptically prepared. Local infiltration of 2% lidocaine hydrochloride blocked the surgical site. Cysts were progressively removed using forceps after a small incision was made at the base of the horn. Finally, using a non-absorbable suture, simple interrupted sutures were used to close the flaps. Fluids and antibiotics were given for five days as part of the post-operative care. Following the surgical removal of the cyst, there were no side effects seen, and the goat shown a considerable clinical improvement.

    The Socio-Economic Condition of the Construction Workers of Dhaka City: An Empirical Study

    This paper explores the socio-economic condition of the construction workers from Azimpur area in Dhaka city. This study is quantitative in nature. A theoretical framework has been made in this study. Push & Pull Factors and Neoclassical Economic Theory have great relations with the existing research. The study shows that all construction workers are migrants who have migrated from the rural areas to Dhaka city to get jobs. They migrated to Dhaka city because of Push & Pull factors. Though Bangladesh is a densely populated country, the capital is not sufficient for incorporating the rural people in job avenues. Even though some people earn in rural areas, it is insufficient for them. All of these situations have forced the rural people to migrate to Dhaka. Their uneducated status forces them to choose the occupation of daily laborers—regardless of being male and female. The female laborers usually get fewer wages than the male laborers. Besides, both the male and the female laborers are cheated by the employers or the middlemen. The laborers have no fixed wage. They fix it by bargaining with the employers. This study explores the socio-economic situation of this community who work as construction workers through an in-depth investigation.

    TrackMate: Real-Time Public Transport Locator

    Even individuals that stop at transit points have significant difficulties in transportation coordination. The reason behind this is that they are not aware of any time of arrival of vehicles and thereby end up spending a long time waiting hence making poor plans on the trips. To create a real-time way to track vehicle locations by being a volunteer user. This project presents a flutter and dartwritten application called TrackMate, which assists in creating a cooperationbased transportation network by allowing travelers to exchange the details of their trip: the type of vehicle, the route, the expected arrival time. Sharing in the system can be increased in two ways; private tracking which will only reveal itself to an auto-generated passkey readable by a limited number of people and public sharing which anyone can read [5]. The application takes advantage of Google Maps API to provide correct GPS position indications and display the route. It also supports a variety of other modes of transport, including some buses, trains, planes, and even water launches [1].Most users find it easy to employ with both track viewers and location sharers having easy access to the program. Interplatform capability with Flutter framework due to the fact that some features it has are crucial, real-time updating of the location through GPS, [1], calculating the expected arrival time, [2], and early sharing termination control. These features reduce unnecessary time wastefulness at transit stations and enable the users to make informed choices regarding the time to take off. Results of its implementation indicate that it is able to locate things in real-time, decode GPS coordinates precise, come up with secure passkeys and trans-synchronize data among multiple users [5]. This system ensures that the user has the ability to control location-sharing preferences, scalability and privacy of the information (9). TrackMate is eventually very supportive to making people experience sustainable mobility because they reduce artless waiting, reduce the waiting time of passengers and encourage community-initiated solutions.
