    Theoretical physicist Sir John was the first to identify a practical way to create metamaterials, or materials engineered for specific applications. Spatial filter can be used to filter out the interfering bands. The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has allocated the 3.1-10.6GHzfrequency band for unlicensed radio communication, offering a new opportunity in short-distance wireless communications. An absorbing boundary condition is applied to the propagation regions, and periodic boundary conditions are applied to reduce the computational domain. From the analysis it can be observed that both incident polarizations can generate a notched band.

    A Double Inverted F-Shape Patch Antenna for Dual-Band Operation

    A double inverted F-shape patch antenna is presented for dual-band operation. The proposed antenna is comprised of circular and rectangular slots on a printed circuit board of 40 mm × 40 mm × 1.6 mm with a 50 Ω microstrip transmission line. Commercially available high frequency structural simulator (HFSS) based on the finite element method (FEM) has been adopted in this investigation. It has a measured impedance bandwidths (2 : 1 VSWR) of 18.53% on the lower band and 7.8% on the upper band, respectively. It has achieved stable radiation efficiencies of 79.76% and 80.36% with average gains of 7.82 dBi and 5.66 dBi in the operating frequency bands.     Antioxidant, analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities of the herb Eclipta Prostrate

    The present study was designed to investigate the antioxidant, analgesic and anti-inflammatory potential of the methanolic extract along with its organic soluble fractions of the herb Eclipta prostrata. In addition, total phenolic and flavonoid content and total antioxidant capacity were also determined. Antioxidant potential of the extract/fractions was evaluated by DPPH (1,1diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl), NO (nitric oxide) and ONOO- (peroxynitrite) scavenging assay method. Ethyl acetate fractions (EtOAc) showed highest scavenging activity in all the methods with IC50 value of 12.98±0.08, 45.98±0.07 and 14.45±0.18 μg mL-1 for DPPH, NO and ONOO- assay method, respectively. In reducing power assay, EtOAc fraction also showed significant (p<0.001) activity. Further, the extract/fractions were studied for their analgesic (hot plate, tail immersion and acetic acid induced writhing test) and anti-inflammatory (carrageenan induced paw edema in rats) activities at a dose level of 200 and 400 mg kg-1 body weight. Among all the extract/fractions, EtOAc fraction showed a dose dependent and significant (p<0.005, p<0.05) analgesic activity in all the tested method. EtOAc fractions also reduced the paw edema considerably (86.80% inhibition after 3 h, p<0.005, p<0.05) in dose dependent manner compared to carrageenan induced rat. Altogether, these results suggest that the MeOH extract and its organic soluble fractions could be used as a potential antioxidant, analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent

    Compact metamaterial antenna for UWB applications

    A compact antenna is proposed using planar-patterned metamaterial structures for ultra-wideband applications. This antenna consists of four metamaterial unit cells that simultaneously show both negative permeability and negative permittivity on the triangular patch and three rectangular slots on the partial ground plane fed with a microstrip line. It has a wide bandwidth from 3.07 to 19.91 GHz for voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) <;2 and an average gain of 5.62 dBi with a peak of 8.57 dBi because of using planar-patterned metamaterial structures. Good agreement between computations and experiments is realised convincing that the antenna can operate over a wide bandwidth with planar-patterned metamaterial structures and compact size (0.28 λ × 0.19 λ × 0.02 λ ).     Design of an X-band microstrip patch antenna with enhanced bandwidth

    In this paper, an X-band microstrip patch antenna has been presented with enhanced bandwidth. The proposed antenna is designed on 40 mm×40mm printed circuit board and is excited by microstrip line. Commercially available High Frequency Structural Simulator (HFSS) is adopted in this study This antenna is composed of rectangular and circular slots to generate two resonances and to increase bandwidth in the desired band. Return loss -17.14 dB and -14.29 dB are obtained below -10 dB in the desired X-band (8GHz-12GHz). It has achieved stable radiation efficiency 78.85% with average peak gain 4.31 dBi in the operating frequency band. The proposed antenna has an impedance bandwidth 1.59 GHz.     Detection of breast cancer using electromagnetic techniques: A review

    Breast cancer is the most well-known malignancy of non-skin and the second leading reason of cancer death among the women in the world after the lung cancer. In this review, the development of the microwave imaging system is described for breast cancer detection depending on the ultra-wideband imaging system, which is a promising emerging technology that uses the dielectric contrast between malignant, benignant and normal fibro glandular breast tissues at the microwave frequencies. Some breast cancer detection techniques such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography, Ultra-Wide Band (UWB), Ultrasound and their performances have also been reviewed. There are some restrictions of the existing UWB imaging systems such as they have no ability to detect the breast tumor at the beginning period, having no 3D pictorial representation of tumor size in all systems and a multiple array antenna in respect of complex system. This encourages the improvement of the extended signal processing techniques for ultra-wideband imaging systems and initiates a more appealing imaging scenario. The limitations and running challenges of the microwave imaging system have been discussed completely with some feasible suggestions.     Dual-Band Operation of a Microstrip Patch Antenna on a Duroid 5870 Substrate for Ku- and K-Bands

    The dual-band operation of a microstrip patch antenna on a Duroid 5870 substrate for Ku- and K-bands is presented. The fabrication of the proposed antenna is performed with slots and a Duroid 5870 dielectric substrate and is excited by a 50 Ω microstrip transmission line. A high-frequency structural simulator (HFSS) is used which is based on the finite element method (FEM) in this research. The measured impedance bandwidth (2 : 1 VSWR) achieved is 1.07 GHz (15.93 GHz–14.86 GHz) on the lower band and 0.94 GHz (20.67–19.73 GHz) on the upper band. A stable omnidirectional radiation pattern is observed in the operating frequency band.     Investigation of a planar antenna with bandwidth enhancement for X-band applications

    Planar antennas play an important role in wireless communications systems and they continue to face shifting demands for a new generation of antenna technologies. One of the widely used antennas is the microstrip patch, as it offers a low profile, conformal design, ease of manufacture and integration, and it is low cost and lightweight. Its main disadvantages, however, are narrow bandwidth and low efficiency, so increasing its bandwidth is the main focus of many research projects. Work on the design of this type antennas continues, and various techniques are being used, including increased substrate thickness, changing the patch by cutting rectangular slots and the ground plane. The geometry of the proposed microstrip antenna was designed using equations from the transmission line model (TEM) approximation.

    PhishGuard: A Convolutional Neural Network-Based Model for Detecting Phishing URLs with Explainability Analysis

    Cybersecurity is one of the global issues because of the extensive dependence on cyber systems of individuals, industries, and organizations. Among the cyber attacks, phishing is increasing tremendously and affecting the global economy. Therefore, this phenomenon highlights the vital need for enhancing user awareness and robust support at both individual and organizational levels. Phishing URL identification is the best way to address the problem. Various machine learning and deep learning methods have been proposed to automate the detection of phishing URLs. However, these approaches often need more convincing accuracy and rely on datasets consisting of limited samples. Furthermore, these black-box intelligent models' decision to detect Suspicious URLs needs proper explanation to understand the features affecting the output. To address the issues, we propose a 1 D Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and trained the model with extensive features and a substantial amount of data. The proposed model outperforms existing works by attaining an accuracy of 99.85 %.     Preference for Home Births in Rural Bangladesh

    Despite the renewed commitment to increase the rate of health facility-based delivery, more than half of all deliveries still take place at home in rural Bangladesh with the support of traditional birth attendants (TBAs), which leads to high maternal mortality as well as poor maternal health and pregnancy outcomes. The aim of this study was to identify the reasons for preferring home delivery among rural communities in Bangladesh. The data were gathered through three Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) among three different groups of stakeholders, viz., nine women, seven men, and nine health service providers. Thus, 25 individuals participated in this study. FGDs were conducted in a rural sub-district of Bangladesh. Thematic analysis was performed. The findings revealed a high preference for home delivery attended by TBAs among rural communities, as it was convenient, easily affordable, comfortable, and suitable for maintaining social rituals during labor and after delivery. Cultural practices and belief systems are the most frequently cited reasons for preferring home delivery with the help of a TBA. Other major reasons for choosing home delivery included financial constraints, inadequate knowledge about services offered by the health care facilities and lack of awareness about service delivery points, poor road conditions, and lack of transportation to reach the nearest health facility. Poor quality of services at the health care facility, perceived fear of undergoing cesarean delivery at the health care facility, and lack of lady doctors at the health care facilities also had a significant impact on the choice of home delivery. To further increase health facility-based delivery in Bangladesh, there is an urgent need to design a comprehensive maternal health program with culturally appropriate interventions, duly addressing the reasons for preferring home delivery that have been identified in this study. In the long run, promoting women’s education, reducing poverty, and improving the quality of all services at the health care facilities, particularly in the rural hinterlands of Bangladesh, would improve maternal health and pregnancy outcomes in the communities and reduce high maternal mortality.
