A Biomechanical Study of Potential Plants for Erosion Control and Slope Stabilization of Highland in Thailand
(Sustainability, MDPI, 2024-07-25) Mairaing, Warakorn; Jotisankasa, Apiniti; Leksungnoen, Nisa; Hossain, Monir; Ngernsaengsaruay, Chatchai; Rangsiwanichpong, Prem; Pilumwong, Jarunee; Pramusandi, Sony; Ahmmed, Abu Noman Faruq
Soil bioengineering provides a sustainable method for erosion control and soil slope stabilization using vegetation with multiple co-benefits. This study evaluated ten plant species in Thailand’s highland regions for their soil bioengineering potential and additional benefits. Root architecture, tensile strength, and Young’s modulus were measured to compare biomechanical traits. G. sepium, F. griffithii, P. americana, B. asiatica, and C. arabica exhibited H-type roots with wide lateral spread, while M. denticulata and C. officinarum had VH-type roots with deep taproots and wide lateral extent. A. sutepensis showed M-type roots with most root matrix in the top 0.3 m, where C. cajan and C. sinensis had R-type roots with deep, oblique growth. Most species showed a negative power relationship between the root strength and Young’s modulus with the root diameter except C. cajan that showed a positive correlation. P. americana, F. griffithii, C. officinarum, and C. arabica showed relatively high values of 1 mm root tensile strength (exceeding 24 to 42 MPa), while M. denticulata, G. sepium, and B. asiatica exhibited intermediate root tensile strength (ranging from 8 to 19 MPa). A. sutepensis, C. cajan, and C. sinensis demonstrated the lowest root tensile strength, up to 7 MPa. It is advised to plan slope vegetation by selecting diverse plant species with varying root structures and benefits, addressing both engineering and socioeconomic needs of the sustainable nature-based solution.

A Case Report on Treatment of Mammary Tumor in Dog
(Chattogram Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Khulshi,Chattogram, 2023-11) Hossain, Monir
A female Golden Retriever dog was brought to the Teaching and Training Pet Hospital and Research Center (TTPHRC) presenting signs of weakness and lethargic behavior. There was a mass found in the mid-inguinal area. An incision was made on the skin extending to the mass. Toward the end of the prepubic area, the mass grew from the mid-inguinal region, enveloping the third pair of teats. After physical examination, the mass was tentatively diagnosed as a malignant tumor. The owners were thoroughly informed about the risks associated with the surgery by the surgeons, who subsequently carried out the surgical excision with their permission. Since such an occurrence can be prevented by surgical excision in the chosen area. Tumors with the affected teats were removed successfully. On postoperative observation for one month period, the animal was totally healthA female Golden Retriever dog was brought to the Teaching and Training Pet Hospital and Research Center (TTPHRC) presenting signs of weakness and lethargic behavior. A Cost-effective Counterfeiting Prevention Method Using Hashing, Qr Code, and Website
(Intelektual Pustaka Media Utama (IPMU), 2024-07-15) Hossain, Monir; Begum, Momotaz; Das, Bimal Chandra; Uddin, Jia
In this paper, we proposed a cost-effective software method to prevent counterfeiting where we used a website, quick-response (QR) code, and hashing. At the early stage of the product, the system will create a unique ID and a password with a random password generator for all products. Then, the password hash would be stored along with the ID in the database. At the same time, the password would be converted into a QR code for each product. The manufacturer will collect the QR code and ID and attach them to the product. When consumers attempt to verify the product, they will enter the website provided by the manufacturer and scan the QR code. After applying the same hash used before, the code will be checked on the database. After a successful check, the product entity will be destroyed and the life of the product ends. This paper contains flowcharts, figures, cost estimation, and a detailed explanation of the system. As it only requires domain hosting, thus the fixed cost of the system is so lower to bear for small enterprises also. We built a similar system using PHP, HTML, JavaScript for websites, and MYSQL for databases.

    eExpense
(5th International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information and Communication Technology, IEEE, 2019) Sabab, Shahed A.; Islam, Sadman Saumik; Hossain, Monir
Tracking regular expense is a key factor to maintain a budget. People often track expense using pen and paper method or take notes in a mobile phone or a computer. These processes of storing expense require further computations and processing for these data to be used as a track able record. In this work, we are proposing an automated system named as eExpense to store and calculate these data. eExpnese is an application that runs on Android smartphones. By using this application, users can save their expense by simply scanning the bills or receipt copies. This application extracts the textual information from the receipts .and saves the amount and description for further processing. It also monitors user’s income by tracking the received SMS’s from the user’s saving accounts. By calculating income and expense it produces the user’s balance in monthly and yearly basis. Overall, this is a smart automated solution for tracking expense.

Effect of supplementary vitamin D on Eggshell thickness and Egg production performance
(A production Report submitted in partial satisfaction of the requirements for the degree of DOCTOR OF VETERINARY MEDICINE, CHITTAGONG VETERINARY AND ANIMAL SCIENCES UNIVERSITY, KHULSHI, CHITTAGONG., 2023-08) Hossain, Monir
This study looked at how three treatment groups responded to vitamin D supplementation in terms of eggshell thickness. There were three groups studied: the control group, Treatment Group 2 with moderate vitamin D dosage, and Treatment Group 3 with high vitamin D supplementation. Pre- and post-supplementation measurements of eggshell thickness were made. Ranges of eggshell thickness were given for the Control Group (0.30-0.22 mm), Treatment Group 2 (0.31-0.33 mm), and Treatment Group 3 (0.33-0.35 mm). The outcomes showed clear patterns in the treatment groups' eggshell thickness. Eggs in the control group had eggshells that were typically 0.30 to 0.32 mm thick. Eggshell thickness increased somewhat in Treatment Group 2, which received modest vitamin D supplementation, ranging from 0.31 to 0.33 mm. Notably, Treatment Group 3, which received high vitamin D supplements, showed the eggshell thickness range with the maximum value of 0.33 to 0.35 mm. These results point to a possible link between eggshell thickness and vitamin D supplementation. A possible dose-dependent effect is suggested by the increasing trend in eggshell thickness with higher supplementing levels. Enhancing eggshell thickness has a significant impact on structural integrity and protection during transportation and incubation, which is crucial for egg quality. The control group, Treatment Group 2, and Treatment Group 3 were the three different groups that this study was designed to examine in order to determine the effects of vitamin D supplementation on egg production rates. Egg production rates were reported to be 83% for the control group, 85% for Treatment Group 2, and 88% for Treatment Group 3 following the administration of vitamin D supplements.

This project is made for the people who are seeking for ambulance and blood donors. Users who want to know about the nearby ambulance service and donor lists then they have to do registration in this web application. There is a sign up option for creating a new profile. There are two major options for register. If someone gets registered as requester then he/she can get all information about ambulance and donor list but if someone get registration as donor then he/she get all information as well as he/she has a donor profile. By logging in the system he/she can update his/her previous data at any time. Admin has another panel to add, edit or delete any data.MS SQL relational database is used in the whole project. For database connectivity with MS SQL database and we used C# in the back end. Bootstrap, Razor is used for making our application enough interactive. The system is tasted and reviewed for satisfactory performance. In future we will add more layouts for our user that they can make more lightweight online ambulance and donor from our application.
