A New Model for Real-Time Intrusion Prevention Systems for DDoS Attacks

Nowadays the internet has made a momentous impact on our daily life but we are not safe enough in the internet world. Last two decades, network security scholars have shown several innovative and practical solutions to save us from network and internet attacks. Among all the internet threats denial-of-service (DoS) and distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks are considered the most notorious and devastating ones. These attacks are one of the main threats that are a serious security problem for today’s internet. To exhaust the resources of target networks, these attacks are launched by generating a huge amount of network traffic. This study proposes a new model for real-time intrusion prevention systems for DDoS attacks. It is true that creative attackers are continuously developing effective attacking tools and techniques to impose maximum damage due to the rapid technological advancement. The proposed Efficient Detection System of Network Intrusion (EDSONI) model makes use of both the detection and prevention of this malicious activity properly. CICIDS2017 dataset has been applied to this proposed system to experiment with the detection and prevention performance.
Acceptance of E-Learning Among University Students During Covid-19 Crisis

COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically transformed the global education system to a great extent. In a short period, e-learning has been adopted globally as an al-ternative teaching-learning medium. However, this sudden transition raises many concerns about e-learning acceptability. To make a clear inference, this study investigated the acceptance of e-learning (perceived usefulness, and perceived ease of use) among university-level students using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The empirical analysis was performed on a sample of 694 university students in Bangladesh during the COVID-19 crisis. Findings revealed that students' overall e-learning acceptability was not adequate (32.8%), a significant number of students (46.8%) were not satisfied with e-learning experience and that majority (70.2%) of students preferred face-to-face education systems for their future study. The study also highlighted the underlying factors that negatively affect students' e-learning acceptance such as lack of technological skills, less familiarity with e-learning, lack of simplicity, low productivity, inefficiency, and so on. The overall findings of this study are intended to assist stakeholders to understand the gaps that need to be addressed immediately to increase students ’e-learning acceptability in the future.
Determinants of Financial Inclusion in South Asia

To identify the financial stress and associate factors of tertiary level student. Design/methodology/approach To identify the financial stress and associate factors, a structured questionnaire was developed to collect data from 571 students of different universities of Bangladesh through Google form. Chi square and Cramer's V were applied to find the associated factors with financial stress of students, whereas ordinal regression was performed to evaluate the influence of the associated factors on financial stress. Findings Gender, living status, borrowing loan factors have positive association with financial stress. Tuition fee dues have significant positive association with financial stress. A student who has tuition fee dues feels 1.48 times more stress compared to student who does not have dues. Females were found less likely to be financially stressed (AOR = 1.536) than male students. Students who borrowed loans were more likely to have financial stress than non-borrowed loan groups of students. Practical implications Results indicate that financial stress has a strong impact on participation in different academic and personal activities of a student. Therefore, parents, university administration and student counselor should consider the factor to assess stress of a student. Originality/value This study identified factors responsible for financial stress of Bangladeshi students of tertiary level.
E-Learning Experience of Indigenous Rural Communities in the Face of COVID-19 Crisis in Chittagong Hills Tracts Region, Bangladesh: A Qualitative Investigation

The COVID-19 pandemic brought about a significant transformation in the way education is delivered, with e-learning becoming the primary mode of instruction worldwide. In the Chittagong Hill Tracts region of Bangladesh, this shift posed unique challenges for indigenous rural communities. The present study endeavours to investigate, explore, and diagnose the e-learning experience of the indigenous rural community residing in the Chittagong Hill Tracts region of Bangladesh. The research employs a qualitative approach, and three specific areas from the aforementioned region were purposively selected for data collection. In order to accomplish the research objectives, a total of 60 semi-structured, in-depth interviews and participant observations were conducted. Data analysis used both a deductive method through thematic analysis and a hybrid integrated data-driven inductive approach. The Granheim method and Nvivo-12 software were used for data analysis, processing, and coding. The result revealed that the experiences of e-learning among indigenous students of Chittagong Hill Tracts have been suffering from technical illiteracy, insufficient equipment, and devices, poor network coverage, inattention in online classes, feeling isolation, moral degradation, and online addiction. Consequently, the majority of the indigenous students had unfavourable experiences with online teaching and learning techniques. Based on the results, the study recommends strategies to provide better access to e-learning resources, improve internet connectivity, provide access to devices, and enhance digital literacy for students in remote rural areas. Furthermore, the findings of the study will be crucial for academics, policymakers, stakeholders, and development practitioners in developing a stronger e-learning policy and practice for all, particularly for the indigenous rural community in Chittagong Hill Tracts.
Factors Influencing Continuance Intention of Using New IT System

The purpose of this paper is to undertake a meta-analysis and find the research gap in published researches on the continuance intention and technology induced stressed among employees on new IT system implementation. A total of 29 papers were reviewed where Erpectation- Confirmation Theory and Technostress Theory were used. Traditional literature reviews often lack research gaps and fissure direction. This paper discusses literature review as a methodology and also identifies gaps for future research. This paper also acknowledges the theoretical contribution, the limitations of this study, and suggestsfirther research directions for the continued work.
HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT PRACTICES IN UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES: EXPERIENCE AND REALIZATION

University library is a microcosm of the institution as it faces most of the issues confronted by the campus Human Resource department. The scale of the issues may be smaller but, in terms of their effect on the operation of the library and its ability to fulfill its mission, they are very critical. Human Resource Management (HRM) is a function performed in organizations that facilitate the most effective use of employees to achieve organizational and individual goals. Maximizing the efforts and contributions of human beings is a major problem today in the libraries. As a part of this study, University libraries were pointed to assess the human issues related to human resource management in these libraries, current status of professionals engaged, their views and remarks for improving library services to better meet the user needs are also discussed. It has been emphasized that effective HRM is the only way to get best out of the personnel for successful management of an organization. This study also demonstrates that HRM function, policy and benefits are positively related to POSDCORB effectiveness. Its effectiveness fully mediates the relationship between resource and process, training and administration, and performance appraisal & services innovation
Modelling the Knowledge-Sharing Behaviour of Students on Facebook

This paper aims to illustrate the relationship between the constructs of social cognitive theory and social exchange theory with regard to the knowledge-sharing behaviour of students on Facebook. This research was conducted on 123 students using self-administrative survey questionnaires. The technique of structural equation modelling was employed to examine the hypothesized relationships between the variables. The findings of this study indicate that affiliation and innovativeness significantly the knowledge-sharing behaviour of students. Overall, perceived reciprocal benefit, perceived enjoyment, knowledge power, and affiliation and outcome expectations are found to be strong predictors of such behaviour. Previous research mostly examined the knowledge sharing attitude or intention in the industry setting. This study has been conducted in the educational setting and particularly focuses on the influence of the educational climate and expectation outcome on the knowledge sharing attitude of students.
Role of Absorptive Capacity in Predicting Continuance Intention to Use Digital Libraries: An Empirical Study

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of absorptive capacity and the quality dimensions of technology on students’ continuance intention to use the e-library system. To measure the continuance intention, an integrated research model was developed using expectation-confirmation theory (ECT) and absorptive capacity theory. This empirical study was undertaken at a university in Bangladesh with a sample size of 297. Data was collected via a survey questionnaire. The results reveal that the dimensions of absorptive capacity have a strong effect on confirmation of the system and a partial impact on perceived usefulness (PU). Confirmation of the system has a significant effect on the PU of and satisfaction with the system. Satisfaction was found to be a strong predictor for the continuance intention to use the e-library. Finally, ECT fully fits in this context and students’ satisfaction has the largest effect on the continuance intention.
Skill Development of Undergraduate Students through International Exchange Program

The international exchange program plays an important role in improving soft skills and helps graduates’ to be confident to compete in job market. Student can achieve a vast academic knowledge apart from extra-curricular and co-curricular skills through attending exchange program. Therefore, this paper aims at studying the development of students acquired soft skills and the barriers they face to achieve the goal through the exchange program. The data obtained from 87 students who participated in exchange program in different countries of Asia. Besides descriptive statistics, factor analysis was performed to identify the achieved soft skills through exchange program. This study reveals that, a large number of students were attending in exchange program at their own cost and most of the students were from the year 3. Indubitably, Exchange program helps to improve students’ soft skill such as; communication skill, team building ability, adaptability with situation. Moreover, lectures delivered to the students were found interesting. Results of the study are expected to motivate students attending in international exchange program and will offer a right direction to the students to get an expected outcome.
