Achieving Robust Global Bandwidth Along with Bypassing Geo-Restriction for Internet Users
(Scopus, 2019) Islam, Gazi Zahirul; Emran, Al- Nahian Bin; Juman, Aman Ullah; Khan, Md. Abbas Ali; Hossain, Md. Fokhray; Habib, Md. Tarek
Not all Internet Service Providers provide a sufficient amount of bandwidth to their users. Although the amount of local bandwidth is reasonable, global bandwidth is not satisfactory at all. Based on bandwidth allocation, location and price; service providers capped their users’ global bandwidth i.e., reducing global internet speed. As a consequence, we observe severe global bandwidth limitation among Internet users. In this article, we implement a flexible and pragmatic solution for Internet users to bypass global bandwidth restriction. To achieve robust global bandwidth, we utilize a combination of communication technologies and devices namely, Internet Exchange Point, Virtual Private Network, chain VPN technology etc. In this project, we show that internet speed of international route i.e., global bandwidth can enhance significantly if there are multiple ISPs use a common IXP and at least one of those ISPs provides pleasant global bandwidth. Usually, regional ISPs use a common IXP to route their local traffic using local bandwidth within the region without wasting global bandwidth. We show that using our proposed method global internet speed of a user can raise several times effectively utilizing assigned local bandwidth. In addition, we also implement a geo-restriction bypassing technique integrating an offshore ISP with local ISP using VPN. Thus, we enjoy tremendous Internet speed along with unrestricted access to the websites.

Perceptions of the Qualities of a Model Teacher in the Minds of Newly Recruited Teachers at a Private University
(Daffodil International University, 2015-06-01) Hossain, Md. Kamrul; Hossain, Md. Fokhray; Islam, Yousuf M
Teaching involves a number of qualities of a teacher that the teacher must possess; it is not simply the human figure that matters. Rather the inherent qualities of the individual that count the most if the teaching is to be successful and effective. The article attempts to bring forth the rare and valuable qualities that an individual must aspire to achieve and cultivate in practical situations. Out of the immediate experience obtained from the bunch of newly recruited faculty in Daffodil International University (DIU) the paper has been conceived and designed. It may be hoped that the article will reveal a fresh perception at least in the mind-set of the newly recruited faculty, who aspire to stick to teaching career for their life. Every semester, DIU arranges an orientation cum training program for newly recruited faculty members. During the training session for the semester of Spring 2015 there were 46 teachers. The session dug into the perception of these teachers on their impression of the qualities of a teacher, i.e., what qualities would a model teacher have. A questionnaire was uploaded in Google Classroom for the participants to decide the qualities of a model teacher, taken from their own experiences as students. The results showed that about 50% of the newly recruited faculties were influenced by the teaching of their own university teachers. Participants wrote about the teacher with most influential characteristics. Among the qualities of the teachers that they felt contributed to model teaching practices were giving theory followed by examples, creating groups, asking back to back questions, encouraging students to predict (empowering students) and giving pictorial view of every lesson as well as by the personality of teacher, which included friendly behavior and the ability to motivate. From the view of the newly recruited faculties, it is found thatone needs to be friendly with a stable teaching technique in order to become a successful teacher

Abstract.- The purpose of the article is to make awareness about the importance of Institutional Quality Asmrance Cell (IQAC) and its activities including the capacity building of the national framework of highe'r education in Bangladesh. The present gone mment of Bangladesh took the initiative year 2015 to establish IQAC as a pilot project in both private and public universities to ensure quality education in tertiary level There are 38 private and 31 public universities under this project by the supervision of Quality Asmrance Unit (QAU), UGC for three years and after completion of the project IQAC will be an integral part of the university.”’ The number of higher education institutions in Bangladesh has remarkably increased during the last one decade. At present the number of private and public universities in Bangladesh is 95 and 40 respectively. About 3.2 million students are studying now in these universities and approximately 0. million graduates come out each year However, the scope for the employment rate of graduates in Bangladesh is inmfficient,- many of them would have to fight for employment in local and global job market. In order to get a job in and outside Bangladesh, the graduates must have to pre pare themselves in the context of national as well as global requirements,- otherwise their opportunities for jobs would be narrow. The quality of the graduates has to be of international standard in terms of their (i) knowledge, attitudes and sofl-slnlls, (ii) updated course curricula to meet the global requirements, iii) Outcome Based Teaching Learning (OBTL) strategies and (iv) creative, evaluating and analytical assessment procedures to follow Bloom’s Taxonomy. The objective of IQAC is to ensure the quality education, develop shrilled graduates with high employability in local as well as global context.

Questions Analysis with Bloom’s Taxonomy: A Study on the Department of Business Administration
(Daffodil International University, 2016-06) Hossain, Md. Kamrul; Hossain, Md. Fokhray
Abstract: The purpose of tertiary level education is to improve student’s thinking ability from Lower Order Cognitive (LOC) to Higher Order Cognitive (HOC) levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy. The question papers are examined based on Bloom’s Taxonomy (BT) to evaluate the confidence and skill levels of the learner. According to Bloom’s Taxonomy, recall, understand and apply are the LOC whereas analyze, evaluate and creative are the HOC. In this study, question papers of examination of the Department of Business Administration (DBA) of a private university were analyzed to find the skill levels of the learner. The data were considered from mark distribution process of question papers. The question papers were evaluated based on keywords and marks were allocated to different level of Bloom’s Taxonomy. The research question for this study in “Is teaching-learning of tertiary level education following standard”. To answer this question, the following hypotheses should set to test: (i) mark distribution is increasing from LOC to HOC levels as academic year is increased and (ii) pattern of mark distribution are not same in terms of LOC and HOC levels in courses. The results showed that almost 30% questions were from understand level, whereas 7% and 12% questions were from evaluate and create level of Bloom’s taxonomy. There is significant difference of mark distribution between LOC and HOC levels and mark from LOC domain is higher than that of HOC domain in the questions. To improve students thinking ability, more questions should be included from HOC in the questions.
