Item Change of Weight in Pretreatment of Dyeing: A Study on 100% Cotton Knit Fabric(Daffodil International University, 2020-01) Chowdhury, Tanvir Ahmed; Rahman, Md. Mominur; Hossain, Alamgir; Majumder, S.M. Mahbub Ul HaqueThe study is to find out changes in weight of cotton knit fabrics in pretreatments of dyeing. Single jersey, single lacoste, 1x1 rib, 1x1 lycra rib, 2x2 rib & terry fabrics were used for this research and processed them in different pretreatments of dyeing. Standard recipes were followed with right chemicals were used in every stage. All the processes were conducted in a reputed industry and modern machines were used at every process. After values of weight changes at each stage were carefully measured maintaining same atmospheric condition. It was found that weight changing rate is different for the different knit structured fabric though same recipes and procedures were followed for all of the fabric samples in a particular stage. Finally, the reasons of variation in weight change were explained logically.Item Changes of Dimensional Stabilities for Viscose, Polyester and Spandex Constituents: A Study on Knit Fabric Stage Versus Garments Stage(23-01) Rahman, Md. Hasanul Islam; Chowdhury, Tanvir Ahmed; Hossain, Md Kamrul; Hossain, AlamgirDimensional stability is one of the fundamental issues from customer point of view due to after use changes of length and width of garments hinder the proper use ability of garments. The paper is to investigate the change of dimensional stabilities and their association and difference with different selective synthetic fibres constituents. Fabrics and their adjacent garments samples are washed with detergent and the changes of length and width are measured in respect of previous dimensions. A sample of 50 repeated measures was conducted to measure the dimension change. Then the data was processed using software – Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) to determine the association and difference. It is revealed that there is significant association with viscose fibre composition and change of length after 1st and 3rd wash as well as change of width after 3rd wash at fabric stage. However, at garments stage, there is significant association with viscose fibre composition and change of length after 1st wash as well as with change of width at 3rd wash. 1st wash of fabric and garments significantly differ with its 3rd wash, however, there is no significant difference between fabric and garments after the same wash.Item Differential Game Model and Coordination Model for Green Supply Chain Based on Green Technology Research and Development(Heliyon, 2021) Mohsin, A.K.M.; Hossain, Syed Far Abid; Tushar, Hasanuzzaman; Iqbal, Mohammed Masum; Hossain, AlamgirThe purpose of this paper is to establish a green supply chain differential game model for green technology research and development based on a secondary green supply chain composed of a single manufacturer and a single retailer. It compares the differential game equilibrium solutions under centralized and decentralized decision-making. The green supply chain members are coordinated through the dynamic wholesale price mechanism, and numerical simulation is used as a methodology, to verify and explain the results. The study found that compared to decentralized decision-making, the level of green technology and the total profit of green channels are higher under centralized decision-making. When the coordination parameters are within a certain range, the dynamic wholesale price mechanism can coordinate the behavior of manufacturers and retailers. The result also discovers that under the dynamic wholesale price mechanism, with the increase of investment cost coefficient, or the increase of price sensitivity or the decrease of consumer's environmental awareness, the green technology level, product green degree, price, retailer's profit, and the total profit of green channel is decreased. In contrast, the wholesale price and manufacturer's profits are increased.Item Multi-Trait Index-Based Selection of Drought Tolerant Wheat: Physiological and Biochemical Profiling(Plnts, MDPI, 2024-12-26) Mohi-Ud-Din, Mohammed; Hossain, Alamgir; Rohman, Motiar; Uddin, Nesar; Haque, Sabibul; Tahery, Mahmudul Hasan; Hasanuzzaman, MirzaDrought is a detrimental abiotic stress that severely limits wheat growth and productivity worldwide by altering several physiological processes. Thus, understanding the mechanisms of drought tolerance is essential for the selection of drought-resilient features and drought-tolerant cultivars for wheat breeding programs. This exploratory study evaluated 14 wheat genotypes (13 relatively tolerant, one susceptible) for drought endurance based on flag leaf physiological and biochemical traits during the critical grain-filling stage in the field conditions. Measurements included six physiological, seven gas exchange, six photosystem II, six stomatal, three reactive species, seven metabolomic solutes, and two biomass traits. All parameters were significantly influenced by drought, with varying genotypic responses. Hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA) categorized genotypes into three drought tolerance groups based on trait performance. Seven genotypes in Cluster 2 (BARI Gom 26, BARI Gom 33, BD-631, BD-600, BD-9910, BD-9889, BD-637) exhibited superior drought tolerance, characterized by minimal changes in physiological traits and biomass accumulation, reduced oxidative stress markers, and increased accumulation of osmoprotectants. The innovative multi-trait genotype-ideotype distance index (MGIDI) further ranked wheat genotypes in regard to drought tolerance, identifying BARI Gom 33, BARI Gom 26, BD-9889, and BD-600 as top performers. Notably, all these top-ranking genotypes belonged to Cluster 2, previously identified as the highest-performing group in the HCA. The identified genotypes with superior drought tolerance offer valuable genetic resources for enhancing wheat productivity in water-limiting environments. Traits related to photosynthetic activity, biomass gain, leaf conductance, water stress, and osmoprotection showed high selection differentials and heritability in MGIDI analysis, indicating their potential as selection targets for drought-tolerant wheat. Overall, the strategic approaches have yielded novel insights into genotype screening that can be directly applied to deepen our understanding of drought tolerance mechanisms in wheat.Item Preference on Quality Dimensions when Purchasing Undergarments: A Case Study of Dhaka City in Bangladesh(Daffodil International University, 23-01) Chowdhury, Tanvir Ahmed; Rahman, Md. Mominur; Hossain, Alamgir; Majumder, S.M. Mahbub Ul HaqueThe Bangladeshi garments manufacturers are emphasizing on local market besides exporting with reputation. Undergarments are a very common product for both male and female. The main objective of this study was to find out the perception of consumers of Dhaka city while buying undergarments. Specifically, this study tried to discover the impact of gender and age group of customers on dimensions of quality during purchasing undergarments in Dhaka city, Bangladesh. To conduct this work, Dhaka city was divided into two parts-DNCC and DSCC. A total 766 male and 750 female customers were interviewed faceto- face perfectly. To get the desired objectives of this study, logistic regression analysis was done. It was found that about 75% of female customer prefers fiber type, hand feel and outer appearance. Again, about 80% male favor fiber type and hand feel like female but unlike female they prefer elasticity instead of outer appearance. Most of the customers of aged 12 to 18 years prefer hand feel, outer appearance and elasticity whereas greater share of age group (19 to 30) years, (31 to 50) years and above 50 years prefer fiber type instead of outer appearance although the percentages of customer are different in choosing the mentioned aspects of quality. This study discovered that the preferences to dimensions of quality differ not only among genders but also among customers of different ages. As a result, manufacturers should take it into consideration while producing undergarments.Item Use Particle Swarm Optimization to Optimize Data Search(East West University, 12/1/2016) Alam, Md. Ashraful; Hossain, Alamgir; Alam, Khondaker SajidIn computer science and engineering Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is a very good clustering for swarm optimization. This is very easy to implement &there are few parameters to adjust. The particle swarm optimization concept consists of, at each time step, changing the velocity of (accelerating) each particle toward its pBest and lBest locations (local version of PSO). Acceleration is weighted by a random term, with separate random numbers being generated for acceleration toward pBest and lBestlocations. In past several years, PSO has been successfully applied in many research and application areas. It is demonstrated that PSO gets better results in a faster, cheaper way compared with other methods. Another reason that PSO is attractive is that there are few parameters to adjust. One version, with slight variations, works well in a wide variety of applications. Particle swarm optimization has been used for approaches that can be used across a wide range of applications, as well as for specific applications focused on a specific requirement. We actually used some of the features of basic PSO. In basic PSO velocity measure is a very important fact as well as position update. But we have made a modified version of PSO by using some of the features of the general PSO because general PSO is not so much comfortable with our dataset. III
