Item Heavy Metal Detection in Soil and Related Health Aspect at Aila Inundated Sundarban Region, Bangladesh(International Journal of Scientific and Technology Research, 2019) Arafin, Sk. Abdul Kader; Hoque, A. K. M. Fazlul; Abedin, M. Joynal; El-Taher, AtefThe work was conducted on some soil samples collected from Aila flood water inundated 3 unions of Shamnagar upazila, Satkhira, Bangladesh where Aila flood water inundated and were few months. The soil samples were analyzed to determine elemental contamination by PIXE analysis. The elemental concentration of Ni, Cu, Zn, Hg and PB in the investigated soil samples is higher than the values obtained from reference soil samples provided from IAEA. The elevated amount of Ni, Cu, Zn, Hg and PB may affect the geological properties of the soil and thus play some important role of anatomical characters and heavy metal accumulation potentiality during the development and growth of plants in the area which ultimate effect on population health. The present work also will be useful in providing environmental monitoring base data of those particular areas.Item Numerical Simulation of Convective Heat Transport within the Nanofluid Filled Vertical Tube of Plain and Uneven Side Walls(International Journal of Thermofluid Science and Technology, IJTFEDITOR, 2020-01-10) Uddin, M. J.; Hoque, A. K. M. Fazlul; Rahman, M. M.; Vajravelu, K.Two-dimensional transient natural convective flow in a vertical tube of plain and uneven side-walls containing cobalt-kerosene nanofluids is analyzed using a nonhomogeneous dynamic model. The vertical right wall of the enclosure is maintained at a constant low temperature and the left wall is heated by a uniform thermal condition whereas the horizontal side-walls are insulated. The Brownian motion and thermophoretic phenomena of the nanoparticles are considered in the model. The governing nonlinear momentum, energy, and concentration equations are solved numerically using a Galerkin weighted residual finite element method. The thermal, flow and concentration fields are obtained to understand the flow dynamics of cobalt-kerosene nanofluid in two types of enclosures. The local and average Nusselt numbers are analyzed for plain and uneven side walls of the tube for different parameters of the problem. The simulated results are compared with the experimental as well as with the numerical data available in the literature for some special cases. The outcomes show that the tube of having uneven vertical side-walls give higher heat transfer for lower values of the thermal Rayleigh number; whereas for the higher values of the thermal Rayleigh number, the tube of plain vertical side-walls exhibit significantly higher heat transfer rate.Item Skill Development of Undergraduate Students through International Exchange Program(Daffodil International University, 2022-03-01) Hossain, Md Kamrul; Hossain, Md. Fokhray; Hossain, Mohamed Emran; Hoque, A. K. M. Fazlul; Khan, Nafis M.; Kamil, Anton AbdulbasahThe international exchange program plays an important role in improving soft skills and helps graduates’ to be confident to compete in job market. Student can achieve a vast academic knowledge apart from extra-curricular and co-curricular skills through attending exchange program. Therefore, this paper aims at studying the development of students acquired soft skills and the barriers they face to achieve the goal through the exchange program. The data obtained from 87 students who participated in exchange program in different countries of Asia. Besides descriptive statistics, factor analysis was performed to identify the achieved soft skills through exchange program. This study reveals that, a large number of students were attending in exchange program at their own cost and most of the students were from the year 3. Indubitably, Exchange program helps to improve students’ soft skill such as; communication skill, team building ability, adaptability with situation. Moreover, lectures delivered to the students were found interesting. Results of the study are expected to motivate students attending in international exchange program and will offer a right direction to the students to get an expected outcome.
