    A Deep Computer Vision Approach to Detect Eggplant Diseases

    Farming inputs are very vital, yet they are not always available to farmers. The goal of this research was to construct an intelligence system utilizing the recognition of eggplant diseases utilizing picture treatment techniques in order to educate farmers about eggplant sickness. The lack of data for both disorders encouraged us to develop a standard dataset for two prominent diseases in the laboratory. Pre-trained Eggplant-disease classification Visual Geometry Group 16 (VGG16) resnet50 and inceptionV3 architectures are used in our work. Further, VGG16 was utilized as the 8th convolution layer feature extractor and these features were used to graduate illnesses. An equivalent or in some cases a greater accuracy was shown in the analysis. There have been proposed possible causes for variations in interclass precision and future direction. Our highest accuracy is achieved by VGG16 the accuracy rate is 99.55%.

    A study to assess the suitability of using polypropylene in concrete as a partial replacement of coarse aggregate

    AMONG THE WASTE POLYMERIC MATERIALS, WHICH ARE USED IN BANGLADESH, POLYPROPYLENE (PP) IS A NOTABLE ONE DUE TO ITS EXTENSIVE USE IN THE PRODUCTION OF PLASTIC FURNITURES, NECESSARY UTENSILS, TOYS, BUCKETS, DOORS ETC. DUE TO ITS NON-BIODEGRADABLE NATURE, WITH A VISION OF RECYCLING THEM, A PROCESS OF CONVERTING THEM INTO LOW DENSITY PLASTIC COARSE AGGREGATE CAN BE INTRODUCED BY MELTING & COOLING THEM INTO THE MOLDS. IN THIS STUDY, THESE LOW DENSITY PLASTIC COARSE AGGREGATES HAVE BEEN USED TO PARTIALLY REPLACE THE CONVENTIONAL COARSE AGGREGATE (BRICK CHIPS) BY 10%, 20% & 30% BY VOLUME. WATER CEMENT RATIOS OF 0.42, 0.48 & 0.57 HAVE BEEN SELECTED TO ASSESS DIFFERENT PROPERTIES OF THE CONCRETE. HAVING THE MIX PROPORTION OF 1:1.5:3 (CEMENT: FINE AGGREGATE: COARSE AGGREGATE), COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH, TENSILE STRENGTH & OTHER PROPERTIES OF THE CONCRETE CYLINDERS HAVE BEEN INVESTIGATED AT 28 DAYS, FOR THREE REPLACEMENT RATIOS AS WELL AS THREE WATER CEMENT RATIOS TO COMPARE THEM WITH THE REGULAR CONCRETE (RC). THE RESULTS DEMONSTRATED THAT PP HAS BETTER BONDING CAPACITY THAN BRICK CHIPS, INCREASING THE COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH & TENSILE STRENGTH OF THE POLYPROPYLENE COARSE AGGREGATE CONCRETE (PCA CONCRETE). THUS, THIS LOW DENSITY CONCRETE CAN BE USED FOR THE STRUCTURAL PURPOSES.

    Association of BRCA1, BRCA2, RAD51, and HER2 gene polymorphisms with the breast cancer risk in the Bangladeshi population

    Purpose: Breast cancer is considered as the most frequent female malignancy. Altered gene expressions due to genetic polymorphisms in the BRCA1, BRCA2, RAD51, and HER2 contribute toward the development of breast cancer, and yet, no such type of study has been conducted in the Bangladeshi population. This study was designed to evaluate the role of BRCA1rs80357713, BRCA1rs80357906, BRCA2rs11571653, RAD51rs1801320, and HER2rs1136201 polymorphisms as risk factors in the development of breast cancer in the Bangladeshi population. Methods: A total 310 patients with invasive breast cancers were recruited as cases from different public and private hospitals of Bangladesh, and 250 Bangladeshi healthy women matching age with the patients were recruited as controls. Polymerase chain reaction–restriction fragment length polymorphism method was used to analyze the genetic polymorphisms. Results: Patients carrying BRCA1/2 mutations, GC and GC plus CC genotypes of RAD51rs1801320, and AG plus GG genotype of HER2rs1136201 polymorphisms were found to be associated with breast cancer. In subgroup analysis, AG plus GG genotype of HER2rs1136201 was found to be associated with the breast cancer risk in the patients younger than 45 years of age compared with the older patients having more than 45 years of age, and RAD51rs1801320 was related to the tumor size and tumor aggressiveness (higher graded tumor). Conclusion: Our results indicate that BRCA1/BRCA2, RAD51rs1801320 and HER2rs1136201 polymorphisms were associated with breast cancer in the studied population.

    MEDIC: A Multi-Task Learning Dataset for Disaster Image Classification

    Recent research in disaster informatics demonstrates a practical and important use case of artificial intelligence to save human lives and suffering during natural disasters based on social media contents (text and images). While notable progress has been made using texts, research on exploiting the images remains relatively under-explored. To advance image-based approaches, we propose MEDIC (https://crisisnlp.qcri.org/medic/index.html), which is the largest social media image classification dataset for humanitarian response consisting of 71,198 images to address four different tasks in a multi-task learning setup. This is the first dataset of its kind: social media images, disaster response, and multi-task learning research. An important property of this dataset is its high potential to facilitate research on multi-task learning, which recently receives much interest from the machine learning community and has shown remarkable results in terms of memory, inference speed, performance, and generalization capability. Therefore, the proposed dataset is an important resource for advancing image-based disaster management and multi-task machine learning research. We experiment with different deep learning architectures and report promising results, which are above the majority baselines for all tasks. Along with the dataset, we also release all relevant scripts

    Real time traveler information system : an efficient approach to minimize travel time using available media

    The objective of this thesis project is to establish a Real Time Traveler Information System that will Support the operation of an Advanced Traveler Information System (ATIS). The system will monitor the current condition of each route and update automatically according to the collected information. It will also inform about any incident, weather condition and any special event in the road. The information collected from the routes will be analyzed in conjunction with the historical information. On the request from traveler it will generate real time information to guide travelers towards optimal decisions concerning their travel routes to avoid congestions and delay [1, 7]. This project incorporates unbiased-ness (best output) and consistency (expected output) into its core operations [1].

    Report on Substation Equipment Manufacturing

    This report is written on the basis of our visit to Energypac and all the technical details we were introduced to during our visit. The technical content of our visit was centered on Substation equipment's that are divided into four parts. These parts are transformer, switchgear, breaker and locator and instrument transformer (CTIPT). In this report we also talk about the manufacturing access of these equipment. transformer is a device that can transfer energy one circuit to another by electromagnetic duction. Basically the main part of transformer is core and coil. Core is made by using different tape. This shape is cut by auto core cutting machine and this shape together the core is created. The raw material is silicon steel sheet. The coil has two parts one is LT (low tension) coil and HT (high nsion) coil. The raw material of HT coil is disc coil and LT coil is spiral coil. By using core inding machine coil is created. Then by assembling the core and coil it tank up. For insulate the stem insulation oil, insulation paper etc are used. After adding and other parts the transformer is introduce. Energypac manufacture three types of Isolator. Pantograph, Centre break and Double pak. Pantograph is four point contacts. It opens all contacts when breaking. Centre break is three contacts and Double break is two pole contacts. Vertical or Horizontal terminal take off.

    Study on Different Types of Sewing Faults and Their Remedies in Knit Garment Production

    Sewing process is one of the most important stages in garments production. During production in sewing process can be create some faults or defects, that can be causes low quality of the garments item. Some faults are recoverable and some cannot recoverable. Sewing faults can be causes of lower price of products, which not economical friendly for the garments industries. We investigated and observe a knit garment industries few days for sewing faults, which are commonly occurring during production operation process by worker. In our investigation we found some faults like Oil Sport13.9%, Label Problem 10.8%, Drop Stich 10.2%, Dirty 9.2%, Cutting Stitch 8.9%, Open Seam 8.1%,Neck Problem 5.6%, and sewing faults at Islam Garments Ltd. Finally we found total 5.09% garments are defective causes of sewing problem calculation for industries. The main aim of this study is to investigate whether the knitwear production process is under control in a knitwear production enterprise and to detect the process with highest rate of sewing faults in sewing process and finally to make suggestion for improving the quality control.

    Weather Impact on Road Accident in Bangladesh

    The leading cause of death worldwide is road traffic accidents (RTA). Even though just 54% of the world's registered vehicles come from low- and middle-income nations, 90% of road traffic deaths (RTD) occur in these nations. Road traffic accidents are currently thought to be the ninth most common cause of death worldwide across all age groups, but that number is expected to rise to seventh by 2030. The economies of low- and middle-income nations are developing. The effects of this rising economy include rapid urbanization and motorization. However, infrastructural development policy upgrades are not happening quickly enough to keep up with these more rapid changes in the economy and population. According to research, RTAs cause economic losses in low- and middle-income nations that might amount to 5% of GDP (World Health Organization, 2015). The official statistics show that more than 60 people die in traffic accidents in Bangladesh for every 10,000 motor vehicles (Alford, 2009). The true mortality rate is probably substantially greater. The according to quium, there are still issues with the accident reporting system and the data it produces and official numbers are prone to underreporting (Alford, 2009). While the number of fatalities grew by around 400% during the same time period the number of accidents increased by 43% between 1982 and 2000 (Girard, 2011) Road accidents are a global tragedy, and Bangladesh like many other nations, experiences significant annual losses as a result of these accidents (Donaldson & Lucey, 2018). The number of road users, urbanization, and motorization are all growing, and with the passing time, there are more road accidents and fatalities. To comprehend or asses the situation appropriately accurate and logical accident rates and corresponding trends are needed (Unesco. Research Centre on the Social Implications of Industrialization in Southern Asia et al., 1956). In Bangladesh, there were 62 motor vehicle fatalities per 10,000 registered vehicles in 1985 but there were only 45 in 2007 (Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, 1973). This drop in mortality was even more dramatic when considering road motor vehicles rather than registered motor vehicles, from 98 in 1985 to 56 in 2007, which should be more representative of the real situation (Figure 1: The Road Traffic Accident Death Toll with Motor Vehicles and Non-Motor Vehicles in China from 2007 to 2016, n.d.). The country’s population doubled from 1971 to 2007, with accidents and fatalities increasing from 1.14 to 3.87 and 0.41 to 2.98 per 100,000 people, respectively, in some temporary fluctuations (Table 1.3. Road Fatalities per 100 000 Inhabitants, per Billion Vehicle-Km and per 10 000 Registered Motor Vehicles, n.d.)In terms of vehicle kilometers, accident and fatalities rates have decreased by 49.08% and 42.77% respectively per 100 million vehicle kilometers from 1999 to 2004 (Thorpe, n.d.)
