    An Improved Data Structure for Efficient Storage of Multiple BIOsequences

    Compression of large DNA sequences has been a subject of great interest since the availability of genomic databases. Although only two bits are sufficient to encode four bases of DNA (namely A, G, T and C), the massive size DNA sequences forces the need for efficient compression. In this article we are going to propose an improved version of an existing algorithm known as “GtEncseq” which describes the procedure of storing multiple biological sequences of variable Character size, with customizable character transformations, “wildcard” and “separator” support, and a diverse group of internal representations optimized for different arrangements of wildcards and sequence lengths. Our main target is extensive compression of data with an attempt of eliminating the wildcard entries from the sequence but make it available for the reuse. An efficient time requirement for encoding the desired sequence is also a note to consider.

    Application Of Industrial Engineering In Garments Sewing Floor

    This project is on “Application of Industrial Engineering In Garments Sewing Floor”. Traditionally operated garment industries are facing problems like low productivity, longer production lead time, high rework and rejection, poor line balancing, low flexibility of style changeover etc. These problems were addressed in this study by the implementation of lean tools like cellular manufacturing, single piece flow, work standardization, just in time production, etc. After implementation of lean tools, results observed were highly encouraging. Some of the key benefits entail production cycle time decreased by 8%, number of operators required to produce equal amount of garment is decreased by 14%, rework level reduced by 80%, production lead time comes down to one hour from two days, work in progress inventory stays at a maximum of 100 pieces from around 500 to 1500 pieces. Apart from these tangible benefits operator multilingualism as well as the flexibility of style changeover has been improved. This study is conducted in the stitching section of a shirt manufacturing company. Study includes time studies, the conversion of traditional batch production into single piece flow and long assembly line into small work cell.

    Design and Development of an Android Application Named Kanta

    KANTA is a android based online e-commerce system. This is a application which is specially made for the unemployed women of our country. There are many women in our country who are not allowed to go out for work and have to settle being housewife. We mainly focus on the women who are good at hand craft, food recipes, paintings or any kind of art or skilled work. As it is a online ecommerce platform an user can log in as a buyer or seller. If an user login as buyer then they can buy anything they want and buyer can be anyone buyer can be man or women anyone. But for the seller the user must be a women because our main purpose is to highlight women and their skill. In the application there are few categories like pickles, series, hand craft products, homemade furniture’s , paintings etc. For login the user just have to give their number and an OTP confirmation will come from the firebase and the code will be popped up by the the app when the code come by the server. We have worked on the security of our application and for that we have made login depend on number so that every id will be unique by their numbers. The buyer can also log in with the same way. Our application is mainly a online platform which will create a great market for the women as they will easily earn from staying at home.

    Predicting Student Performance to Reduce Dropout Using J48 Decision Tree Algorithm

    Student dropout is a major problem that faces most of the Private University of Bangladesh. In Bangladesh, a huge number of student studies in private universities. But, almost one-third of students are dropped out in the first year of their study. Various reasons are identified behind this problem, including the medium of study, assessment process and lack of knowledge in semesterbased education. In this research, the researcher uses the Educational Data Mining technique to predict the students' final grade after the Midterm Examination. This early result prediction can help the students, teachers and the university authority to take necessary action to reduce students' dropout. A lot of Education Data Mining tools are available. This research proposes a classification model particularly a decision tree algorithm to predict the future grades of the students in Introduction to Computer, a first-semester course for undergraduate university students. Popular data mining software, WEKA is used for model construction and evaluation.
