Item Design and Development of an Android and Web based Application for Teacher-Student Communication(Department of Technical and Vocational Education (TVE), Islamic University of Technology (IUT), 2014-11-15) Hasan, Md. Abul; Amin, NurulAbsence of any online centralized communication system among teachers and students in Bangladesh. This state of art inspires us to design and develop on complete system for concerned users at Islamic University of Technology (IUT). Where they can share their study materials and communicate with each other using smart devices. Teacher-Students communication is an important aspect for improving learning procedure. Though we have different kinds of social communication system, but each of every sys-tem developed for some specific purpose. So this project is appropriate cloud communi-cation and storage system where we can explore a lot of features of the teacher student communication. Our target users are teachers and students where they can share study tutorials, working schedule and event management. Analyzing the state of the art devel-opment platform, our proposed system has been developed on web based and android platform. This project stores and manages all the courses information, daily lectures, different test schedules quizzes test, lab tests, assignments, presentations or viva. And also students performance record, contest events etc, users will get notification on re-spective their events. There is a similarity with social networking web sites facebook with our project, however only teachers and valid students can share materials with each others. MizanurThe study titled “Improving Transportation System of Supply Chain Management for Shrimp in Satkhira” was carried out from November to December 2014 on the basis of both primary and secondary information. Shrimp farming has emerged one of the most important economic activities in Bangladesh and become, by and large, the third largest export industry in Bangladesh. Shrimp culture in coastal areas plays a vital role providing employment, income, food security, and poverty alleviation to remote coastal people. The urban population is also benefited from processing, value adding, and marketing of the shrimp as a whole. The increasing demand and steadily rising prices of shrimp encourage its cultivation in the coastal belt of the country especially in Satkhira. In export markets, the demand for shrimps is huge although it is faced with quite a large number of challenges which are related to ensuring compliance with hygiene standards, non-tariff barriers, and some stiffer terms and conditions. Transportation is one of the most dominating factors in shrimp farming and exporting. Any lapse of transportation activities can significantly damage the whole process of shrimp industry. In this study, a number of transportation problems have been identified and analyzed in the shrimp industry in Satkhira. The disintegrated supply chain management of shrimp is a great problem in this area. Poor infrastructure facilities such as lack of modern transport, ice factory, electricity, proper transportation system of prawns and shrimps from remote areas to depots, lack of technical knowledge in marketing and shrimp cultivation, grading and processing are the great problems in shrimp industry. In this study, the primary data have been collected mostly from the five different groups which are local shrimp farmers, local shrimp post larva (PL) suppliers, Beparies, Aratdars and Depot owners. These five groups are mainly involved in shrimp cultivation and business. The main focus of this study is to examine the existing supply chain transportation system used in the shrimp of Satkhira district. The objective of this study is to find out the problems directly related to shrimp cultivation and shrimp marketing. Finally, this study has drawn some recommendations which are expected to help improve the shrimp transportation system in Satkhira district.Item Microcontroller Based Color Analyzer With Computer Interfacing(East West University, 1/11/2012) Alam, Sabbir Masqur; Khan, Md. Nasim Ahmed; Hasan, Md. AbulIn textiles and garment related industries, it is often needed to dye fabrics with a particular color. The dye color is usually composed using some base or primary colors (such as red, green and blue). However, it is difficult to identify the exact ratio of primary colors that combine to form a particular color using our eyes. Therefore, to compose the color, many trials and errors are required, which takes huge amount of time and resources. If a system can be developed that can identify the primary color constituents of a color, then the dye could be easily prepared. In this project, we analyzed the red-green-blue (RGB) components of a light (reflected from any colored plain surface) using a color sensor and then display and save the results in a computer. We used a color sensor (TCS230) for analyzing the color, which converts color intensity to frequency. More specifically, its output is a square wave whose frequency is directly proportional to the intensity of light incident on the sensor surface. The RGB components are analyzed using the principles of light reflectivity and some color filters. The computer interfacing is done through Universal Serial Bus (USB). USB was chosen considering the drawbacks of other standard interfacing techniques. We also developed a GUI to display the data on screen and the software stores the analyzed data on a text file for future usage.
