Item Design and Development of a Smart Wheelchair Prototype for Physically Disabled People.(IIUC Central Library, 2017-12-14) KHAN, MD. SALMAN; HOSSAIN, MD. SHAKHAWATBangladesh is a developing country with a large number of people. Every year, a large number of people become lame due to road accident and unable to walk normally. Wheel chair is the best assistive device used by elder and differently abled people who cannot walked normally. The driving and controlling of traditional manual wheel chair are much harder task. So our aim is to build a powerful wheel chair which helps the handicapped (lower half of the body is paralyzed) people to travel without depending others. The bone for physically challenged people is a wheel chair. The wheel chair is developing day by day. The modern wheel chairs come equipped with a self-motor to help run the wheel chair by a joystick. The joystick controlled wheel chair is a bit difficult for certain people to operate. Mainly for old and weak people. Again, the voice controlled wheel chair is not suitable at all situation because of noisy environment and sound. It is also difficult to give command for old or weak people. Moreover this wheelchair is costly. So our proposal is to make such a cost effective electronic gesture based wheel chair which will be easy to operate rather than the joystick input. In our proposal, we will show to control a wheel chair using in build gesture function of a smartphone and touch sensor. A special feature of our wheel chair is that, obstacles in front of the way of wheel chair can be detected which can avoid the collision between chair with that detected obstacle. Another feature of this chair is to use an IP camera that gives visual and acoustic information to the guardian of the riding people. FOR ITS QUALITY PRODUCTION(INSTITUTE OF SEED TECHNOLOGY, 2022) HOSSAIN, MD. SHAKHAWATAn experiment was conducted at the central farm of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka, Bangladesh to evaluate the effect of some botanicals and biocontrol agent on insect pests of brinjal (Solanum melongena L.) (BARI Begun-7) for its quality production during the period from October 2021 to April 2022. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. Seven treatments, viz. Treatment were T 1 : Neem oil @ 4ml/L of water at 7 days interval; T : Neem seed kernel @ 300g/L of water at 7 days interval; T 3 ii 2 : Sanitation + Trichogramma evanescens at the rate of 1 card/plot at weekly interval (1000 eggs per card); T : Braconid wasps at the rate of 20-25/plot at weekly interval + field sanitation; T 5 4 : Bacillus thuringiensis serovar kurstaki @ 1ml suspension /L of water + Safeclean 2.5 ml/L of water at 7 days interval; T : Botanical pesticides Safeclean 5 ml/L of water at 7 days interval; T 7 6 : Untreated control was included in this study. In case of different treatments performance, T (Bacillus thuringiensis serovar kurstaki @ 1ml suspension /L of water + Safeclean 2.5 ml/L of water at 7 days interval) showed the best results in terms of incidence of brinjal shoot and fruit borer, number of Jassid plant number of Epilachna beetle plant -1 5 , number of Whitefly plant -1 -1 , number of Aphid plant , yield of healthy and infested fruit, yield contributing characters and yield (t/ha) of brinjal. In term of yield of total fruits, the highest yield of total fruits (50.96 t/ha) was obtained from in T treatment which was closely similar with others treatment except untreated control. There was negative relationship present 5 in number of brinjal shoot and fruit borer, Jassid, Aphid, Epilachna beetle, Whitefly and fruit infestation in number basis with the yield of brinjal, i.e. when the average number of brinjal shoot and fruit borer was increased the yield of brinjal was decreased. Same correlation found for average number of Jassid, Aphid, Epilachna beetle, Whitefly. From the study, it may be concluded that treatment T (Bacillus thuringiensis serovar kurstaki @ 1ml suspension /L of water + Safeclean 2.5 ml/L of water at 7 days interval) was the most efficients than others treatment for the effect of some botanicals and biocontrol agent on insect pests of brinjal (Solanum melongena L.) for its quality production which was followed by spraying of T 5 (Botanical pesticides Safeclean 5 ml/L of water at 7 days interval) treatment.Item FERTILIZER MANAGEMENT OF HYV RICE IN THE POLDER ECOSYSTEM OF THE COASTAL ZONE OF BANGLADESH(DEPARTMENT OF AGRONOMY, 2016) HOSSAIN, MD. SHAKHAWATA field experiment was conducted of the farmer field in polder 30 at Basurabad village, Batiaghata, Khulna during July to December 2016 in order to develop fertilizer management techniques for HYV rice under tidal ecosystem prevailing in the polders of the coastal zone of Bangladesh. The experiment was comprised three rice varieties viz. BRRI dhan51, BRRI dhan72, and kumragor local T. aman rice and six fertilizer doses viz. No N + No P K S Zn(N ), 50% recommended N + No P K S Zn (N 2 ) , 100% recommended N + No P K S Zn(N 1 3 ) 50% recommended N + 50% recommended P K S Zn(N 4 ) , , 100% recommended N + 50% recommended P K S Zn (N 5 ) , 100% recommended N + 100% recommended P K S Zn(N ) and The experiment was laid out in a split-plot design with four replication. The purpose of the experiment was to developed fertilizer management techniques for HYV rice under tidal ecosystem prevailing in the polder of the coastal zone and to find out optimum fertilizer dose of HYV Aman rice for polder ecosystem. Data on different yield contributing characters, growth, and yield were recorded. Interaction between varieties and fertilizer management showed a positive impact on growth, yield and yield attributes of aman rice. Varieties showed the significant variations on plant height, tillers hill -1 , panicle length, grains panicle -1 6 , thousand grains weight, grain yield, straw yield, biological yield and harvest index. BRRI dahn51 gave the highest grain yield (5.39 tha -1 ). Fertilizer management also significantly influenced the growth and yield attributes of aman rice. The highest grain yield (4.98 t/ha) was observed in N . Interaction between variety and fertilizer management doses significantly influences plant height, tillers hill 6 -1 , panicle length, grains panicle , thousand grains weight, grain yield, straw yield, biological yield and harvest index. The highest grain yield (6.30 t ha -1 ) was recorded from the V treatment combination which was statistically similar with V 1 N . The highest filled grain panicle -1 (137.75) was observed in V treatment, biological yield (12.35 tha 1 N 5 -1 5 . Straw yield (8.98 tha ) was observed in V 3 -1 1 N 6 ) was higher in V N and harvest index (56.13 %) was higher in V 1 N 1 treatment. It may be concluded that V 1 treatment showed best result in the tidal ecosystem of the polder coastal zone
