Item EFFECT OF MALEIC HYDRAZIDE ON GROWTH AND YIELD OF MODERN POTATO VARIETIES(HAJEE MOHAMMOD DANESH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY UNIVERSITY, DINAJPUR, 2014-06) HASAN, MD. ROKIBUL; Prof. Md. Abul Kalam AzadAn experiment was conducted at the Central Farm, HSTU campus, Dinajpur during the period from November 2012 to March 2013. The aim of the present study was to identfy the most productive variety and also to find out the most optimum level of Maleic Hydrazide (MH) and suitable time of its foliar application on the aspect of better growth development and greater yield of three modern varieties of potato under the regional condition of AEZ-1. Three potato were namely Diamant (V1), Cardinal (V2) and Multa (V3), four different concentrations of MH (0, 500, 1500 and 2500 ppm), its foliar application time in the trial field were used as level factor A, B and C, respectively. The experiment was laid out in a three factors RCBD with four replications. The result revealed that most of the yield components and yield were significantly influenced by different varieties of potato, different levels of concentration of hormone and two planting dates of hormone. The treatment combination of second spray of hormone on 45 days after planting and 500 ppm maelic hydrazide gave the highest yield of potato tuber (47.58 kg t/ha) and the lowest yield (40.30 kg t/ha) was obtained from second spray of hormone and 1500 ppm maelic hyrdrazide. Less number of days required for germination of potato tuber, higher branch angle per plant, higher diameter of main stem, higher number of leaflets per plant, highest number of compound leaf per plant, weight of tuber per plant and weight of tuber per hactor were obtained from the treatment V1. In case of different grade of tuber viz number of tuber >45 mm, 35-45 mm diameter, number of tuber per plant were significantly highest from V1 treatment. The highest number of tuber per plant was observed in the treatment of 500 ppm MH. The highest number of <28 mm diameter of potato was observed from the variety V3. The weight of tuber >45 mm diameter, and dry weight of tuber per plant (gm) was observed in the treatment D2H1. The combined effect of D2V1 was significant for number of compound leaf per plant and number of tuber (28- 35) mm diameter in the treatment V1H1. The treatment combination D2V2H1 produced highest diameter of main stem in potato. The lowest diameter (9.51 mm) was obtained from D2V3H2.Item EFFECT OF MALEIC HYDRAZIDE ON GROWTH AND YIELD OF MODERN POTATO VARIETIES (Solanum tuberosum L.)(HAJEE MOHAMMAD DANESH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY UNIVERSITY, DINAJPUR., 2014-06) HASAN, MD. ROKIBULThe experiment was conducted at the Agronomy Field, Sher-e-l3angla Agricultural University. Ohaka from June to November 2007 to evaluate the effect of nitrogen sources and spacing on the growth and yield of T-a,nan rice of BRRJ dhan 31. The experiment comprised of three nitrogen sources viz. prilled urea (PU). Urea super granules (USC) and foliar application of area, and five spacing viz. 15 cm 20cm x 15 cm, 25cm x lS cm, 3Ocm x l5cm and 35 cmx IS em.Theexperiment was laid out in a split plot design with three replications assigning nitrogen sources in the main plot and spacing in the sub-plots. Nitrogen sources significantly changed all growth characters and yield attributes except I 000-grain weight. The highest plant height (105.70cm at harvest), number of tillers hill" (11.03 at 60 DAT), di7' weight plant' (101.95 g at harvest) were obtained from IJSG. The maximum grain yield (4.58 ha") was obtained from USC. which was attributed of higher number of effective tillers hillt (7.55), the highest number of filled grains panicle" (92.60) and highest panicle length (26.19 cm). The minimum grain yield (3.53 t ha") was obtained from foliar application of urea. The effect of spacing was significant for all the crop characters except 1000-grain weight. Plant height, number of tillers hill 1 , dry weight plant", effective tillers hill'. straw yield and biological yield were higher with widest spacing (35 cm x 15 cm). But number of filled grains panicle" (102.2), panicle length (27.17cm), grain yield (4.76 t ha") and harvest index (45.97%) were maximum in 25 cm x IS cm spacing. The interaction between nitrogen sources and plant spacing had significant effect of crop characters except 1000-grain weight. Plant height, number of tillers hill" and dry weight showed higher with the interaction of uSC and 35cm cm spacing. Number of effcctive tillers hill" . number of filled grains panicle", panicle length, grain yield, biological yield and harvest index were found highest with the combination effect of USC and 25 cm x IS cm spacing. On the other hand, lowest grain yield and straw yield was obtained from the interactions effect of foliar urea with 35cm x 15 cm spacing and USC with 15 cm x 15 cm spacing, respectively.Item MOLECULAR DIVERSITY ANALYSIS OF AMAN RICE GERMPLASM USING SSR MARKERS(DEPARTMENT OF BIOTECHNOLOGY, 2021) HASAN, MD. ROKIBULAn experiment was carried out at the laboratory of Genetic Resources and Seed Division (GRSD), Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI), Joydebpur, Gazipur, during the period of January 2020 to August 2020 for genetic diversity analysis within 18 Aman rice germplasm. Eleven rice genome specific SSR Primers were used for molecular diversity analysis. All of the eleven primers were capable to produce polymorphic bands. A maximum (6) number of bands was observed in SSR primers RM206. Thirty Eight alleles were detected with an average of 3.45 alleles. The Polymorphic Information Content (PIC) of SSR markers ranged from 0.10 (RM455) to 0.75 (RM206) with an average value of PIC = 0.42. Gene diversity ranges from 0.10 (RM455) to 0.78 (RM206) with a mean value of 0.45. The RM206 marker can be considered as the best marker among the studied markers for 18 Aman rice germplasm. Four primers showed high value of genetic diversity, five primers showed moderate diversity and two primers showed low diversity value on the basis of PIC value. Nei’s genetic distance (D) among 18 rice germplasm was computed from combined data for the 11 primers, ranged from 0.09 to 0.82 with an average of 0.46. Dendrogram based on Nei’s genetic distance using Unweighted Pair Group Method of Arithmetic Mean (UPGMA) indicated the segregation of 18 genotypes into five main clusters. This result could be further used for molecular diversity analysis and identify parent for the development of high yielding variety of rice.
