Item Dose distribution over the radiation fields and organs of the body during raditherapy procedures [abstract](2001-08) Roy, S.; Ambia, A.S.M.; Akter, S.; Banu, H.; Begum, M.Item EFFECT OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC ON MARKET PRICE OF POULTRY AND POULTRY PRODUCTS IN BANGLADESH(Sher-e-Bangia Agricultural University Research System (SAURES), 2022-12) Beg, M. A. H.; Raihan, M. A.; Beg, T. H.; Begum, M.The aim of the study was to investigate how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the wholesale price of chicken and chicken products. Data of one year were collected from online database of poultry news portal from which 6 months of pre-covid and 6 month of covid period. A structured questionnaire was prepared to put market price of chicken and chicken products from eight divisions of Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Rangpur, Rajshahi and Chattogram of Bangladesh. Secondary data were collected for 12 months from each divisions for all parameters. The results showed that the average wholesale price of broilers, culled white chicken and Sonali chicken, shell eggs (brown and white) and day-old-chicks (brown chicks, white layer chicks and broiler chicks) were fluctuated due to COVID-19 pandemic, but no significant (p>0.05) difference was found in prices except live culled red chicken. The average wholesale price of culled red chicken in Chattogram was 171.12±19.67Tk/kg on July to December 2019 and 195.34±35.70Tk/kg on July to December 2020. In Khulna and Rajshahi the wholesale price of brown shell eggs has descending order whereas in Dhaka, Barishal and Chattogram the price has a accending order, but it remain unchanged in Mymensingh, Sylhet and Rangpur during COVID pandemic. The wholesale price of white shell eggs in Dhaka, Khulna and Rajshahi showed decreasing trend during pandemic but increasing trend in Chattogram. The wholesale price of white layer chicks was lowered by 21.43Tk, 23.79Tk and 31.03Tk/chick in COVID period than pre-COVID period in Dhaka, Barishal and Rangpur, whereas minor price fluctuation was observed in brown layer and broiler chicks. The extreme wholesale price of a Sonali chick was 15.67±3.50/chick in Rangpur only during pandemic. The study concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic had a negative impact on the poultry industry.Item Evaluation of the premier enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) assay for detection of Shigella dysenteriae type 1 (SD1) infection (abstract)(2001-09) Salam, M.A.; Khan, W.A.; Begum, M.; Ryan, E.T.; Acheson, D.; Bennish, Michael L.Item Localproduction of anti-vibrio cholerae mucosal immune responses in reproductive tract tissues following cholera[abstract](2000) Ryan, E.T.; Bridge, E.A.; Crean, T.I.; Gausia, K.; Hamadani, J.D.; Aziz, A.; Hawkes, S.; Begum, M.; Bogaerts, J.; Faruque, S.M.; Salam, M.A.; Fuchs, G.J.; Calderwood, S.B.Item Recommendations for water supply in arsenic mitigation: a case study from Bangladesh(2000-11) Hoque, B.A.; Mahmood, A.A.; Quadiruzzaman, M.; Khan, F.; Ahmed, S.A.; Shafique, S.A.K.A.M.; Rahman, M.; Morshed, G.; Chowdhury, T.; Rahman, M.M.; Khan, F.H.; Shahjahan, M .; Begum, M.; Hoque, M.M.Item Sequential stool shiga toxin excretion folling antimicrobial therapy of shigella dysenteriae type-1 infection[abstract](1999-06) Khan, W.A.; Begum, M.; Ryan, E.T.; Salam, M.A.; Acheson, D.W.K.; Bennish, M.L.Item STUDIES ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF LOW COST SOLAR TUNNEL DRIER OVER TRADITIONAL SUN DRYING OF PRAWN, Macrobrachium lamarrei IN THE LABORATORY(Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University Research System (SAURES), Dhaka, Bangladesh, 2009-07) Fatema, K.; Ahmed, A. T. A.; Khaleque, M. A.; Begum, M.Laboratory experiment was carried out to compare the effectiveness of the new Low Cost Solar Tunnel Drying (LCSTD) technique with the Traditional Sun Drying (TSD) method of the Prawn, Macrobruchium lumarrci. [loth salted and unsalted Prawn (M. lamarrei) required 4 hours for drying in LCSTD, while in sun drying it required 6 hours, During the experimental period the inside drying temperature and percentage of relative humidity varied from 4:1 to solie and 35 to 50%, respectively, whereas outside drying temperature and percentage of relative humidity varied from 29 to .'8"C and 50 to 78%. respectively. Solar tunnel dried unsalted sample contained on an average of 14.65% moisture, 61.58% protein. :1.4'7" fat and 17.23% ash whereas sun dried unsalted sample contained 20.5')1. moisture, 5~% protein. 3.1'if, fat and 15.5% ash.The rate of drying was greater in the Low Cost Solar Tunnel Drier (LCSTD), which effectively controlled the fly larva infestation during drying. The low cost solar tunnel drier produced superior quality dry prawn under hygienic conditions.Item Synthesis and Characterization of Structural, and Electrical Properties of Mg(0.25x)Cu(0.25x)Zn(1−0.5x)Fe2o4 Ferrites by Sol-Gel Method(Ukrainian Journal of Physics, 2019) Talukder, S.; Hossain, M.; Begum, M.; Warnock, R. L.; Haque, M.; Ahmed, N.The effects of magnesium, copper, and zinc substitutions on spinel ferrites have been investigated by the sol-gel technique. Ferrite compositions of Mg0.25𝑥Cu0.25𝑥Zn(1−0.5𝑥)Fe2O4 (where 𝑥 = 0.6, 0.7, 0.8 & 0.9) were prepared at a sintering temperature of 1100 ∘C with a presintering at 500 ∘C. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and high-precision impedance analysis are used to characterize structural and dielectric properties, as well as the surface topography and morphology of the samples. A single phase, cubic spinel structure, with decreased lattice constant was observed. SEM micrographs revealed a homogeneous microstructure with uniform size distributions. Both the dielectric constant and dielectric loss tangent decrease, as the incident frequency increases up to a certain saturation point. The direct current (𝑑𝑐) resistivity profile shows that the resistivity increases with the temperature up to the Curie point, then it goes to a constant value. The quality factor (𝑄-factor) increases with the incident frequency. Hence, the high 𝑄-factor will make ferrites highly useful in applications, especially in multilayer chip inductors.
