First it attempts to detect the trend in the present upshots of global warming temperature data. It has been done through the estimation of the long memory fractional parameter, d using simulation technique in the presence of additive outliers, which stand as wild observations generated in the atmosphere due to global warming. Then, the study investigates into the impact of global warming, precipitations and carbon concentration in the air on the particular aspect of rice production in Bangladesh agriculture. The simulation result exhibits a non-trend or a natural cyclical variability that is influenced by a stochastic process in the case of climate change behavior with wild observations (outliers) that produce a contradictory outcome of profound uncertainties against the case of true world temperature systematic data trend. The results of regression analysis show that climate change has a profound impact on rice productivity in Bangladesh agriculture. Overall results of the study indicate that climate change has profound effects on agricultural food production of Bangladesh agricultureItem The Mediating Role of Organizational Environment in Faculty Talent Retention: A Case Study in Bangladesh(East West University, 1/1/2011) Ashraf, Mohammad A.The objective of this paper is to analyze the mediatory role of organizational factors linking the human resource management practices and talented employee retention. To attain this objective, the paper employs the analytical technique provided by Barn and Kenny (1986). Human resource matrix is taken as a function of four variables such as compensation package, person organization-fit, challenging opportunity and training and development. Organizational factors also involve four variables such as working environment, organizational culture and policy, leadership behavior and teamwork relationship. The experiment has been accomplished in a private higher academic environment in Bangladesh collecting data from 54 talented faculty members. The results show that organizational environment plays an important mediatory role in linking human resource management and talent faculty retention. Thus, the findings of the study imply that organizational variables are at least equally important as important as the human resource variables in order to retain the talent retention in an organization. It is also important that this finding will not only contribute to formulate the retention strategy for an academic institution, but also for any non-academic organizations as well.Item Work Satisfaction andd Employee Turnover Intentions: An Empirical Study(East West University, 1/1/2012) Joarder, Dr. Mohd H.R.; Ashraf, Mohammad A.There has been a theoretical presumption in HRM that job satisfaction and employee turnover intention are negatively correlated. Based on this premise of argument, business leaders aspire to ensure optimal job satisfaction which is a key to the success of any business that relies on a variety of organizational and psycho-economic factors. This study was conducted in the fast-growing Grameenphone (GP) limited, which is the largest mobile phone company in Bangladesh. The factors i.e. independent variable are compensation package, supervision, career growth, training and development, working atmosphere, company loyalty and performance appraisal. The result shows that training and performance appraisal, work atmosphere, compensation package, supervision, and company loyalty are the key factory that positively influence job satisfaction which in turn reduce employees' turnover. The study also finds that the employees of this company possess the above at the moderate level and positive attitude towards work satisfaction which causes lower turnover incidence.
