An evaluation of the Foreign Exchange Operations of NCC Bank LTD

The internship is designed to bridge the gulf between the theoretical knowledge and real life experience. It is designed to have a practical experience while passing through the theoretical understanding. The report is the result of three month internship program in NCC Bank Limited. Today necessity of a Bank as a financial institution is undeniable. A country is financially rich when it has modern financial institutions of its own. These institutions play a vital role in the field of financial stability of a country. Banking sector is one of the stable financial institutions of a country. Due to Globalization and Technological changes, the banking business has become very competitive now a day. All banks are competing to give effective real time service to their customers. For giving friendly service to the customers they need experienced and well-educated working force. The overall approach of the report is a descriptive one as it goes into the depth of service quality of NCC Bank Ltd. Here both primary and secondary information were used. Information about the varieties of activities within the Correspondent Banking Department was collected through interviewed. Different circulars and papers of NCC Bank Ltd, Term papers of NCCBL Training manuals, Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Transactions, General Banking Operation manual, Banking Lecture sheet within the organization helped me to gather data about the organization. The report contains three chapters. The first chapter of the report describes the introductory words of the internship report. The Second Chapter contains the organizational part of “NCC Bank Ltd.”, Organization Structure of “NCC Bank Ltd.”, Vision of “NCC Bank Ltd.”, and Mission Statement, Product and services of “NCC Bank Ltd.”. The third chapter contains Foreign Exchange function, Export/Import procedure,Procedure of Opening the Letter Of Credit (L/C). On next chapter, I mentioned Study Results and Findings. After analyzing the dataI have tried to show the contribution of NCCBL in the field of Export, Import and Remittance.The total income of NCCBL of foreign exchange department increased over the years. Total income from Foreign Exchange was Tk. 307,901,831 in 2010 whereas it has increased to Tk. 465,133,566 in 2013. In case of Export and Import the income of overall NCCBL is increasing gradually but the MMB’s income is not increasing comparatively. In case of NCCBL. Remittance the income of MMB is increasing comparatively with the overall NCCBL should take up to the mark structural change in service to cope with the national trend and help Bangladesh earn more remittance. Lastly in Chapter 5, I have given some Related problems and their Recommendations,concluding part which is related to my report. The Problems findings during the three-month long internship period & suggestions are given from observation, comparative analysis, strategic point of view etc. To increase the efficacy in customer service NCC Bank Ltd. should try to develop the process of providing services. NCC Bank Ltd. has passed a long way since it is providing services. Already it has earned a strong positioned in the field of customer service. To continue to hold the position and be perfect in this sector it will have to keep more and more attention to the customer retention and development.
Crop-Dependent Automatic Water Irrigation and Rainwater Harvesting System

A Crop-Dependent Automatic Water Irrigation and Rainwater Harvesting System is presented in this research. It uses crop-specific moisture requirements and real-time environmental data to optimize irrigation. The system uses an ESP32 microcontroller, which is connected to measurement the sensors data and to operate the water pump. A push button interface is added through which the farmer can manually select from four crop types, each of which is indicated by an LED. And a two-channel relay is used through which two motors are operated. Which enables remote monitoring and control through the Blynk internet of things (IoT) platform. The method avoids over-irrigation, guaranteeing effective water use and resource conservation, by modifying irrigation according to crop requirements and soil conditions.
Exploring new curriculum in extended English classroom in Bangladesh

The English education system only flourished in Bangladesh after the success of the liberation war. After the independence, several curriculum reform committees were formed to bring changes in education and increase the quality of education. Those policies have been taken to increase the quality of the entire education system. There are no distinct policies taken to improve English teaching. As a result, more English proficiency is needed for students in Bangladesh. In 1996, the CLT was included in teaching English in Bangladesh, and the CLT approach cannot increase the English teaching-learning practicum in both city and rural areas. The CLT has not been revised for so many years, and the teaching-learning scenario is based on CLT. Memorization-based English learning and teaching has occupied the English pedagogy in Bangladesh. Recently, the curriculum has been revised, and a new curriculum has been implemented. Classroom assessment, no marking policy, no pen-paper-based examination and task-based learning are the main changing points in the new curriculum. A semi-structured interview of teachers and students was conducted, and some classes were observed to get the data. These teaching–learning elements are used in small classrooms, but now these will be used in large and extended classrooms. There are many debates have been found regarding the new curriculum. The current study has focused on the assessment system particularly continuous assessment, examination policy and review from teachers and students regarding the new curriculum. There is a mixed reaction found regarding the new curriculum from both teachers and students. Many of them have seen new curriculum as game changer in education system in Bangladesh and some of them has the opposite point of view.
Flow-Based Network Intrusion Detection System Using Decision Tree Over Big Data

In computer networks with constantly increasing traffic volumes, flow-based NIDS is the best option for detecting intrusion attempts. In recent years, different machine learning algorithms have been used to detect intrusions in the network. Some of these algorithms showed outstanding performance but are time-consuming and costly. To overcome these problems, Decision Tree has been proposed. In this research, Decision Tree have been used to identify known and unknown attacks on traffic. It executes decision rules in real-time while creating a tree model. That's why it is time-saving. Random Forest, Support Vector Machine, Naive Bayes, Artificial Neural Network, and Deep Neural Network also have been used to show comparison with the Decision Tree. Obtaining a promising result on the dataset "LUFlow" from Lancaster University, we concluded Decision Tree could be used as an intrusion detection model.
Health Related Quality of Life, Behavioral Factors, and Food Security Among the Rural Elderly of Bangladesh

The present study was designed to evaluate the health related quality of life among the rural elderly of Bangladesh. Recent statistics show that older people are about 7% of the country's total population and it will rise to 20% by 2050. The nutrition and health are beset with many problem which is reflected by high prevalence of malnutrition, as shown by results of BMI and MAC. The olders have food in security in terms of availability of essential protein and calorie. Impact of assessment and grading on student’s learning: a case study on the students of private universities

This study focuses on the outcomes of assessment and grading on students’ learning. During this pandemic, classes are being taken on online platforms. These changes are new for the students as well as the faculty members as they are not familiar with this new wave. Students are attending online classes with both advantages and disadvantages. Some students are taking this change positively as the online platform is saving their time and making them technologically advanced. They find this situation in favor of their self-growth to some extent. On the other hand, some students are facing difficulties in order to attend online classes timely, slow typing speed and health issues like poor eyesight and back pain. Directly or indirectly, these issues are affecting students’ learning badly. These kinds of situations are harmful for mental health as well. In case of online assessment and grading, there are also some hidden crimes like cheating which are difficult to identify for the examiners as well. These types of things do not allow proper justice to the assessment and grading part. Students also cannot learn from the unethical activities and they suffer in the long run. Moreover, teachers’ mental health as well as biasness can also create difficulties in case of students’ learning. These issues are taken into account in this research. This research study has deeply focused on the issue of students’ learning during this pandemic based on online assessment and grading. Learning should be made easier for the students to pursue and this will help them automatically to get good grades. Different methods and strategies can be implemented for the students from time to time and teachers should help them in that without creating pressure for getting good grades only. In case of online platforms, these things are new and difficult for both teachers and the students compared to the physical platform. Hence, students are facing a lack of learning scope sometimes and this is affecting them mentally and physically in the long run. On the other hand, teachers should also deal with the students more patiently this time so that students can get out from their phobia and get better learning opportunities. Besides, in some cases, scenarios can be portrayed differently. Without the pressure of getting good grades, students may lose their interest in studies and they do not put proper effort as well as take advantage of the situation which works negatively for them. This research study talks about the pros and cons on grading system on student’s learning.

This study intends to unveil the languages used on the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka city’s linguistic landscape and why is English language receiving priority over the national language, Bangla by analyzing 513 signboards and interviewing 30 shop owners/keepers.

Pedestrian Walking Speed Data Analysis

Pedestrian is the most crucial factor for the roadway system in a mega city like Dhaka. As more than 17 million people are presently living in this city and all major commercial, economical, health and governmental activities are carried out here, millions of trips are generated each day. For each trip, maker has to walk on foot for a segment of the trip and in some cases for the entire trip. But there are insufficient pedestrian facilities in Dhaka and the available facilities are not properly used due to enormous deficiency. Pedestrian safety at intersections is influenced by several factors, among which behavior of pedestrians has the most direct impact. Effective management of pedestrian behavior can make the road network functional whereas failure to do so will worsen the situation. Therefore, the aim of this study is to analyze pedestrian walking speed. It continues to suggest if there is a necessity of grade separated pedestrian facility as it is an integral component of road safety and traffic management. In the survey, number of pedestrian crossing in the sidewalk directions, number of pedestrian crossing using sidewalk were collected at peak period. At selected intersections, existing walking and crossing facilities were observed and deficiencies were identified. In the surveyed intersections, percentages of illegal crossings were quite high with an average of about (66.25 m/min). About 4 hours of data collected, the necessity of grade separated facilities in these intersections has been justified as the number of crossings in each intersection was found more than 1953 pedestrian crossings per hour. From questioner data it has been found that pedestrians are unwilling to use the facilities provided and there is lack of respect towards the traffic law. So, to improve the pedestrian safety and conduct effective intersection operations, both at-grade and grade separated facilities are needed in those intersections with proper engineering, educational and enforcement measures.
Popularity and effectiveness of smartphones in English language learning: perceptions of undergraduate students and their teachers

The study, qualitative in nature, examines the effectiveness and acceptance of smartphones in English language learning among the tertiary level students in Bangladesh. Smartphones can be incorporated with English language learning both inside and outside classrooms. Almost every student at the tertiary level in private universities in Bangladesh owns a smartphone and they use it for various purposes. It is also noticed that students use mobile phone quite often when they are in the classroom. Number of researches, mainly in western context, investigated the incorporation of mobile phone in teaching and learning and, especially, in language learning. This study, however, is set to explore tertiary students and teachers’ attitude and perception regarding the popularity of mobile phone as a learning aid at the tertiary level in Bangladesh. Data for this research were collected through interviews with teachers and students. Results show that there is a great potentiality of using mobile phone in teaching and learning in Bangladesh context. However there are many obstacles that need to overcome before making it a regular practice. Finally some recommendations are made so that mobile technology can bring positive result in teaching and learning in the tertiary level in Bangladesh.
