    A study of in-vivo antidepressant, antidiarrheal and ex-vivo thrombolytic activities of methanol extract of Mikania micrantha leaves

    Mikania micrantha (Asteraceae) has useful properties in the field of medicine. This study is aimed to elucidate the therapeutic potential of crude methanol extract of Mikania micrantha (MEMM) leave, on Swiss mice. The tests for antidepression potential were carried out using the model of both in-vivo forced swimming test (FST) and tail suspension test (TST). Again, the anti-diarrheal efficiency was carried out through the castor oil-induced diarrheal model; the clot-lytic property was investigated by thrombus dissolution property. The test samples showed dose¬dependent (200 mg/kg BW, 400 mg/kg BW) potentiality in antidepressant, anti-diarrheal and thrombolytic activities. MEMM demonstrated a significant increase in swimming tone and mobility in FST and TST. MEMM 400 (mg/kg; b.w.; p.o.) exhibited a significant reduction of diarrhoea over 4 hours. Besides, MEMM produced promising (400 (mg/kg; b.w.; p.o) 43.76 %) clot lysis activity. The observed results of this scientific investigation revealed the possibility of the suitable use of this plant and whether this plant is useful as a source of alternative medicine and new therapeutics.

    Assessment of the Concentration Levels of Heavy and Trace Elements in Fish Using Proton-Induced Gamma Emission

    Fish plays an essential role in Bangladesh people’s diet, being the leading and sometimes easily replaceable food of low-income households. Major and minor elements in fish are crucial for the biological process in the human body. The analyses of 18 distinct elements (Na, Mg, Al, Ca, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Cu, Zn, Se, Br, Rb, Sr, Cd, I, Pb) in 6 selected fishes consumed by the people who live in the Savar region of Dhaka city in Bangladesh were conducted. The objective of the present analysis is to assess the concentration of heavy and trace elements in these fishes and provide up-to-date information if these fishes are safe to eat. The Proton-Induced Gamma Emission technique and the High Purify Germanium detector were used to detect the characteristic Gamma-rays from the target and then calculate the concentration of elements. In general, the highest concentrations range was typically found in K, Ca, and Fe, while the lowest concentrations range were found in V, Cd, and Pb. The findings were compared with the allowable limits of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA-407) and the World Health Organisation/Food and Agriculture Organization (WHO/FAO).Fish are a key source of protein for millions of Bangladeshi citizens, particularly households with low incomes, so monitoring the toxicity level of fish is very crucial. The present analysis results indicate that these fishes are not entirely free of health hazards in consumption. Further study will provide crucial information on the relationship between the concentration of elements and human health.

    COVID-19 Diagnostic Methods in Developing Countries

    COVID-19 has become one of the few leading causes of death and has evolved into a pandemic that disrupts everyone’s routine, and balanced way of life worldwide, and will continue to do so. To bring an end to this pandemic, scientists had put their all effort into discovering the vaccine for SARS-CoV-2 infection. For their dedication, now, we have a handful of COVID-19 vaccines. Worldwide, millions of people are at risk due to the current pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2). Despite the lack of clinically authorized antiviral medications and vaccines for COVID-19, clinical trials of many recognized antiviral agents, their combination, and vaccine development in patients with confirmed COVID-19 are still ongoing. This discovery gave us a chance to get immune to this disease worldwide and end the pandemic. However, the unexpected capacity of mutation of the SARS-CoV-2 virus makes it difficult, like the recent SAS-CoV-2 Omicron variant. Therefore, there is a great necessity to spread the vaccination programs and prevent the spread of this dreadful epidemic by identifying and isolating afflicted patients. Furthermore, several COVID-19 tests are thought to be expensive, time-consuming, and require the use of adequately qualified persons to be carried out efficiently. In addition, we also conversed about how the various COVID-19 testing methods can be implemented for the first time in a developing country and their cost-effectiveness, accuracy, human resources requirements, and laboratory facilities.

    Effects of Compacting on Knit Fabric Properties

    This study has been sorted on effects of compacting on different knitted fabric properties. For complete this study we have used sample fabric of compactor machine before compactor and after compactor. We took multiple samples of four type of fabric Single jersey, Rib (1×1), Single Lacoste, and fleece. We have measured this samples (after compacting sample) GSM, Fabric width, Stitch length, WPI, CPI, Yarn count and this measuring data we have compared before fabric of compactor machine. We saw sometimes this data increase and sometimes decrease. In the case of GSM and the data has increase, and for fabric width the data has decrease. Because their demand was increase GSM. On the other hand for yarn count the data sometimes has increased and sometimes decreased. For WPI CPI and Stitch length most of the time the data has increased, and in a very short time the value has been decreased. We have evaluate the value after and before compacting fabric of compactor machine. Also we studied on compactor machine. How it’s act on fabric structure for increase and decrease of GSM, fabric width, stitch length, WPI, CPI, yarn count. We also studied about machine parts, and their function of compactor machine.

    Navigating the psychosocial challenges and coping mechanisms of parents raising children with Autism spectrum disorder in Bangladesh

    This narrative review explores the psychosocial challenges faced by parents of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in Bangladesh and the coping strategies they use to manage these challenges. Findings reveal that Bangladeshi parents experience significant social stigmatization, exclusion, religious misconceptions, and negligence in healthcare settings. Many parents report being marginalised within their families and communities, leading to high levels of psychological distress, including depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts. Mothers, in particular, are more vulnerable to these challenges, reporting severe levels of stress and depression due to societal pressures. Parents also struggle with a lack of adequate support services and professional guidance, especially in rural areas. Despite these difficulties, parents employ various coping strategies, such as building peer support networks, improving their knowledge of ASD, practicing religious spirituality, and using problem-focused approaches. The study underscores the need for improved mental health services, public awareness campaigns to reduce stigma, and policy initiatives to provide better support to parents of children with ASD. These measures are essential to alleviate the psychological and social burdens faced by families, particularly parents, in Bangladesh.

    Pharmacy Management System

    Pharmacy management system is one of the most essential tools that are mostly used in medical store nowadays. It is mostly used to manage pharmacy related activities such as medical inventory, record keeping, sales management as well as managing the drug stock and information of the expired medicines. Many pharmacies in Bangladesh are still operating manually. They don’t have proper knowledge and software to manage the pharmacy on a digital way. Pharmacy assistant needs to check the date and stock every two or three day in a week; it take a lot of time to find out whether certain medicine are out of stock. In this project we tried to develop a computerized and web based Pharmacy management system. Our main motive is to allow the usage of this system for most of the pharmacy of our country. This system is designed to overcome all challenges related to the management of medicine that were used to be handled locally and manually. This system is manually difficult because of its information changeability and data completeness problem. This system is developed to maintain the manual system digitally or more efficient way. We want to manage the pharmacy on a digital way. By keeping it in mind we have developed this web based system that would replace the existing manual system.
