    An Experimental Study of the Water-Cement Ratio and Concrete Strength

    Water cement ratio is always a burning question for casting concrete. Concrete is the most versatile construction materials and used as a substitute of stone which acts as artificial stone. The strength of this important construction material mostly depends on a proper water cement ratio. A wrong water cement ratio may produce weak concrete in spite of using 1st class ingredients of concrete. Hence determining a proper water cement ratio is one of the important factors of civil engineers worldwide. The first, less frequently mentioned fundamental presumptions for the strength versus water-cement ratio relationship are discussed, namely that (a) the strength of structural concrete is controlled by the strength of the cement paste contained within it; (b) the strength of a cement paste strongly depends on its porosity; and (c) the porosity (capillary) is a function of the water-cement ratio. The connection between concrete strength and water-cement ratio is based on this. For this relationship, many empirical formulations, or "strength formulas," have been established, such as the Abrams formula. These calculations, which often are straightforward but have limited validity, estimate the concrete strength only based on the water-cement ratio. In order to provide improvements, a new class of strength formulas is presented in this study. These formulas include a second independent variable in addition to the water-cement ratio, such as the amount of cement, water, paste, etc. This addition (a) increases the precision with which strength estimates are made (b) demonstrates that, when the water-cement ratio of two comparable concretes is changed, the concrete with the higher cement content will have a lower strength, and (c) demonstrates that the size of changes in concrete strength depends on whether the water-cement ratio is altered by changing the cement content or the water content. These predictions are supported by experimental data. The impact of the other type of porosity, the air content, on the strength of concrete is likewise explained using a formula. When this is combined with any reliable strength formula, the experimental results for both air-entrained and non-air-entrained concretes are well-fitted.

    Financial Performance Analysis of Bangladesh Krishi Bank

    This report is divided into five chapters. The first chapter of this study deals with an introduction that presents the objectives, Methodology, Scope of limitation of the study. In order to understand the Banks on which the study is carried on, the second chapter of the study deals with some theoretical concepts about the Profile of BKB. The third chapter is about the conceptual framework of financial performance activities of BKB. The fourth chapter is about the different types of analysis and findings on the evaluation of investment & financial performance activities. The fifth chapter is about conclusions and recommendations which are drawn by analysis of the whole study. The main findings of the study are as follows: BKB financial performance is very restrictive, the bank has little concern about the advertising process, the bank has no written lending guidelines, the loan sanctioning process is lengthy, etc. Some recommendation of the study is: Financial policy should be moderate, the bank should be concentrating on the advertising process, the bank should maintain written lending guidelines, the bank should maintain quick loan sanctioning process.

    Formulation And Development Of Herbal Coconut Candy Enriched With Asparagus Racemosus (Shatamul) Starch

    This research project focuses on formulating and evaluating an herbal candy using Asparagus racemosus (Shatamul) root starch and coconut powder as major ingredients. Herbal functional and nutraceutical food is strong support for maintaining health and promoting optimal healthcare, longevity, vitality, and quality of life. Shatamul is traditionally used for its health benefits, including hormone regulation, immune support, and antioxidant properties, while coconut powder is rich in healthy protein and dietary fiber—the research aimed to develop an innovative functional candy that delivers these health benefits in a convenient form. Experiments were conducted to determine the ideal balance between active ingredient efficacy and consumer acceptability. In the Nutrition and Food Engineering's departmental laboratories for baking confections and processing of foods, the nutritional value and sensory characteristics of herbal candy have been evaluated. This herbal candy has a balanced nutritional formulation, containing 3.50% moisture, 1% ash, 4.2% protein, and 0.17% fat. It contains 91.13% carbohydrates, making it an excellent source of energy. It has a superb sweetness level, with a Brix of 82%. Its acidic nature impacts its flavor quality, as evidenced by its pH of 4.20. Color, texture, flavor, and overall acceptability were all rated favorably by the sensory evaluation, with "Liked Very Much" being the most often given response in every single category. Analyses suggested that the most suitable combination preserved the bioactive components of the herb while providing an excellent taste. Feedback from consumers indicated a high level of acceptability, indicating that Shatamul herbal candy might be marketed as a healthy and wellness-promoting treat
