Item Asymptotic Methods for some third order Nonlinear Differential Equations(University of Rajshahi, 1995) Alam, Md. Shamsul; Sattar, Muhammad AbdusIn this thesis, we investigate the oscillations of third order nonlinear systems by the asymptotic method. The asymptotic method of Krylov-Bogoliubov-Mitropolskii (KBM) is a popular technigue for obtaining analytic solution of a second order nonlinear oscillatory system. First a third order nonlinear differential system modeling nonoscillatory process and characterized by critical damping is considered and a new perturbation technigue is developed, based on the work of Krylov-Bogoliubov-Mitropolskii, to £ind the solution of the system. Then a method is presented unifying both third order damped and overdamped systems. This method is a generalization of Bogoliubov·s asymptotic method and covers all the cases when the roots of the corresponding linear equation are real, real and complex, and real and purely imaginary.Later a third order forced nonlinear differential system modeling oscillatory process is considered and a new perturbation technique is developed to find the solution of the system. The methods are illustrated by several examples.Item Characterization of Khulan Subsoil and Settlement Response of This Soil Improved by Granular Fills(Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), Khulna, Bangladesh., 2012-12) Alam, Md. Shamsul; Bashar, Prof. Dr. Md. AbulThe study area, Khulna City Corporation (KCC) is one of the important urban areas in the South-West part of Bangladesh. In the present study the whole KCC area was subdivided into three zones: North, Middle and South. In the North Zone (Afilgate, Shiromoni, Fulbarigate, Mohesshorpasha, etc) it is found that the soil layers between 0 12 m from EGL are mostly clayey silt. In this stratum there exists an organic clay layer with the variation of 3 m to 6 m depth in most of the locations. The soil layers between the depth of 12 in to 18 m at the northeast part of the North zone, which is near Bhairab river, contain predominantly sand, while in the areas namely Fulbarigate, KUET campus the soil at this depth contains predominantly silt. In the middle zone (Khalishpur, Daulatpur, Boyra, Mujgunni, etc.) it is found that the sub-soil in the western side contains an organic layer of 3m to 4.5 m thickness starting from about 1.5m to 3m depth to downward. Below this depth the soil consists of predominantly silt up to about 18 in depth. In the eastern side of this zone the soil contains predominantly silt up to about 6m to 7.5m depth. Below this depth the soil contains mainly fine sand. In the South zone (Sonadanga, Nirala, Gollamari, Sheikhpara, West side of Rupsha, Khulna University, etc) the sub-soil contains organic clay up to about 3m to 4.5m depth from EGL. Below this level the soil mainly consists of silt with small portion of clay and organic matters up to about 18 m depth from EGL. From the model test it was found that the load carrying capacity of soft soil can be increased significantly by adopting ground improvement technique with filling sand under foundations. The rate of settlement of the test footing on untreated ground increased substantially after the settlement of the ground exceeds 20mm. It is also evident that the load bearing capacity of treated grounds do not depend on the depth of filling only but also on the width of granular fills. From the experiment, it was seen that the load bearing capacity was increased by replacement of soft soil with granular materials (sand) at the bottom of the foundation up to 1.95 times than that of untreated soil. The load bearing capacity of treated soil was significantly increased with the increase of depth of sand filling under foundation. The bearing capacity was increased by 30%, 72% and 85% with the increase of filling depth by 1.0, 1.5 and 2 times the width of foundation respectively when area of foundation is equal to area of sand filling. For the granular fills of depth 150 mm(D1Bf , the degrees of improvement were found as 30%, 56% and 59% higher than that of untreated condition when width of filling were 1 Bf, 21 Bf, and 313f respectively. So, it was exhibited that for constant depth ((Ds= 1 Bf) of compacted sand, bearing capacity was increased significantly up to the width of sand filling equal to twice the width of foundation. In case of sand fills of depth 225 mm (Ds=1 .5Bf), the degrees of improvement were found as 72%, 79% and 8 1 % higher than that of untreated condition when width of filling were 1Bf, 2.51Bf, and 4Bf respectively. From this it is observed that for constant depth (Ds=1.5Bf) of compacted sand, bearing capacity was increased significantly up to the width of sand filling equal to 2.5 times the width of foundation. When the depth of granular fills was increased up to 300 mm (Ds=2Bf , the degrees of improvement were observed as 85%, 92% and 95% higher than that of untreated condition when width of filling were 1 Bf, 3 Bf and 5Bf respectively, it is observed from this result that for constant depth ((Ds=2Bf) of compacted sand, bearing capacity was increased significantly up to the width of sand filling equal to 3 times the width of foundation.Item Financial Performance Analysis of Prime Bank Limited(Daffodil International University, 2018-12-25) Alam, Md. Shamsul; Sattar, M. AbdusIn most treatments or nonlinear oscillations hy perturbation method. only periodic oscillations are treated; transients are not considered. Krylov and Bogoliubov have used a perturbation method to discuss transients in the second order autonomous systems with small nonlinearities. The method is well known as an 'averaging method' in the theory of nonlinear oscillations. Later the method has been amplified and justified by L3ogoliubov and Mitropolskii. In this dissertation, we invt:stigatc SOllll' third order nonlinear oscillations based on the work of Krylov-13ogoliubov-Mitroplskii (KBJ\:1). First, nonlinear oscillation described by a third order ordinary autonomous differential equation is considered and a new perturbation tcclmiquc is developed. Then a method has been dcwlopcd 1(1 find asymptotic solution or a damped nonlinear system. The method is a generalization of Bogoliubov's asymptotic method and covers both under-damped and overdamped systems. Later clamped oscillations including critically damped motion have also been investigated in presence or more significant damping forces. Third order nonlinear oscillations with clamping and time delay, and with varying coenicients have been investigated separately. Moreover. a simple overdamped solution has been found for the third order weakly nonlinear systems.Item METHOD OF VARIATION OF PARAMETER FOR ALMOST CRITICALLY DAMPED NONLINEAR SYSTEMS(Daffodil International University, 2007-01-01) Parvez, Mohammad Salek; Alam, Md Feruj; Alam, Md. A new perturbation technique based on the work of Krylov-Bogoliubov-Mitropolskii method has been developed to find approximate solutions for almost critically damped nonlinear systems. The solution shows a good agreement with the numerical solution.Item Microfibrillated Cellulose-Silver Nanocomposite Based Pva Hydrogels and Their Enhanced Physical, Mechanical and Antibacterial Properties(Daffodil International University, 2022-02-22) Hasan, Md. AbdusModification of cellulose with silver nano particles produces various nano-composites with significantly developed properties. This work aims to prepare a PVA hydrogel modified with cellulose/silver nano-composites having potential applications in various fields including biomedical, antimicrobial inhibition, textile wears, etc. Micro fibrillated cellulose/silver nano-composites hydro gels were prepared in the aqueous medium with aid of microwave-assisted heating. Different percentages of nanocomposites were incorporated in PVA hydro gel to enhance the properties of PVA hydrogel. Prepared products were characterized by UV–Visible spectroscopy, FTIR, TGA, XRD, and SEM. The swelling (in water saline, acidic and alkaline solution), tensile, thermal, and antibacterial properties were also examined. The formation of Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs) in the (MFC-Ag)NC was confirmed by XRD and UV–Vis spectra. UV–Vis spectra showed the characteristic peaks of Ag in the UV–Vis spectra at 425 nm. Final products exhibited significant porosity and maximum swelling of 519.44%. The thermal stability of hydro gel increased with an increased percentage of (MFC-Ag)NC. Hydro gels exhibited significant antimicrobial inhibition against multi drug-resistant microorganisms, including Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.Item Pocket Medicine(Daffodil International University, 2022-01-04) Alam, Md. Shamsul; Ferdous, Jannatul; Mony, MituWe develop an Android trade-based marketing application to establish a relationship between a shopkeeper and a pharmaceutical company. Its primary function, the pharmaceutical company's medicine, which has arrived to the store, will include a list of all types of drugs. Different companies will sell and marketing their drugs whenever they want through our Android application, recently without any SR / MR (Note: Someone mentioned SR or MR. SR stands for sales representative. MR stands for Medicine Representative.) 2 panels are going to be available in our application. Any user will access our application as a result of it presently lacking an admin panel. Generate and manage users— using the Google Admin app, can reset passwords, edit profiles, add drugs photos, details, prices, post profile images, remove users, and suspend users. They will perform key admin duties as an administrator using the Google Admin app on one's robot's mobile device. A user can place an order, and this message is sent to the admin panel, where an admin approves the order for delivery. The user panel is only accessible to the user. Through the user panel, the user will manage their account. Our application includes a password option, allowing users to log in using their passwords. Furthermore, the company will play an important role for users. The company will provide their medications in accordance with the needs of the users. This category option will come in handy when it comes to selecting the appropriate medication. Our app has limitations as well. If we don't have more medicines in stock, it will be a disappointment to the seller in an emergency. Essentially, this app is created for sellers so that they can easily be ordered any type of medicine or supplement at any time.Item Sustainable Land Management: Policy Implication and Sectoral Achievement(University of Rajshahi, 2007) Alam, Md. Shamsul; Ahmed, Raquib; Rahman, Md. RedwanurPresent investigation deals with the "Sustainable Land Management: Policy Implication and Sectoral Achievement". It was conducted from the period of three years (July'2003 to June'2006) in the Barind tract (Nachole Upazila) and Chalan Beel area (Singra Upuzila). The Chalan Beel area lies between 24°35' to 24°70' North latitude and 89° 10' to 89°35 'East longitudes. The total area of Chalan Beel area is 368 sq km. Barind tract lies between 24°20' to 25°35'North latitudes and 88°20' to 89°30' East longitudes. Total area of Barind tract is about 7,770 sq km. The investigation was designed with land management system of Bangladesh and degradation due to inadequate existing polices and improper implementation of existing laws in Bangladesh. The present study has observed that there are many laws and government policies to manage the land of Bangladesh such as The Non Agricultural Tenancy Act'1949, The Land Revenue Act’s 949, The State Acquisition and Tenancy Act' 1951, The Tax Rules'1962, The Vested Property Act'1966, The Agricultural Pesticides Ordinance'1971, The Bangladesh Irrigation and Water Rate Ordinance'1983. Most of these laws were prepared during British and Pakistan periods. These ancient laws were prepared and enacted for their own interest and in ancient time. But now the scenario is changed. The formal Bengal province is now fully independent country. The land use pattern has been changed and population has been increased. Man land ratio has been decreased. The excessive land use and improper land use change are causing land degradation. The socio-economic problems are rising due to improper land management. The population is much more than the affording capacity of the area. The people need foods, shelter and others from the limited land. The farmers are trying to produce much food from the limited land resource. They are using chemical fertilizer, insecticides, HYV seeds and other harmful things in agricultural land without considering its consequences and future. Rut there are not laws and policies to stop or to reduce of these harmful activities. Even the existing laws and policies are encouraging them to use the harmful activities such as The Canals Act' 1864, The Irrigation Act'1876, The Destructive Insects and Pests Act'1914, The Agricultural and Sanitary Improvement Act'1920, The Tanks Improvement Act'1939, The Agricultural Pesticides Ordinance'1971, The Bangladesh Irrigation and Water Rate Ordinance' 1983. Though recent policies are emphasizing! To reduce those chemical fertilizers and pesticides in agricultural land. But these policies and laws are not implemented properly. There are 24 agricultural laws and 7 policies passed by the government of Bangladesh to develop the agriculture……………………………
