    A comparative study on production performance of cross-bred and indigenous lactating cows under rural condition at different parities

    The study was carried out to monitor the comparative milk production performance of cross-bred and indigenous lactating cows under rural environment in different parities. The data of 35 cross-bred and 52 indigenous lactating cows of five different parities were collected. The collected data shows that average daily milk yield and lactation yield of cross-bred lactating cows are 3.05 liter per cow per day and 698.2 liter per cow per lactation respectively which are not much higher than that of indigenous lactating cows, 2.14 liter per day per cow and 435.2 liter per cow per lactation. The result shows that average daily milk yields are higher in forth parity (3.75 lit. for cross-bred and 2.5 lit for indigenous cows) where average lengths of lactation are also high (250 days for cross-bred and 220 days for indigenous cows). It appears that third and fourth parities cross-bred and indigenous cows were suitable for milk production among the other parities studied.

    ADOLESCENTS' NUTRITION LITERACY AND HEALTH-RELATED BEHAVIOR: THE EFFECT OF COMPUTER-MEDIATED COMMUNICATION MEDIA

    Abstract More and more young people are using the Internet for education and entertainment, and the Internet influences them. This study looks at how 13- to 19-year-olds in Bangladesh describe how they use social media to get information about nutrition. It also looks at how the information they get supports their healthrelated behavior. We used research methods, a survey, and online and face-to-face interviews. We analyzed 345 valid and complete responses using Smart PLSbased Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). We found that the teenagers had a satisfactory level of nutrition literacy, and that social media can promote healthand-nutrition-related content. We also found that the nutrition literacy of teenagers was unrelated to their behavior. Instead, their choices of content, their sense of altruism, and different forms social support influence the way they use media. These factors also reflected and reinforced their attitudes to health. This study concludes with recommendations for influencing the nutrition- and health- related behavior of teenagers.     Fully automated satellite tracking system for directional antenna

    When a Low Orbiting Cube satellite passes over a location it can receive and transmit HF/UHF frequency in a directional radiation. We get maximum efficiency when the satellite and the GS’s antenna stays in straight direction. Here we developed a low cost, dependable and efficient satellite tracking system. This system is able to move GS’s directional antenna precisely to maintain a straight-line direction with the targeted satellite throughout the whole pass. The tracking system divided into rotator and control box part. For rotator system we use DC motor for both azimuthal and elevation rotation. The motor have high torque with low RPM to rotate the rotator at precise angle. Controller box is interfaced with CPU such a way that it automatically collect the azimuth and elevation value from CPU and according to the data it will run the gear system. The CPU run algorithm to calculate the present position of the targeted satellite from updated TLE. A feedback system read the position of rotor by using voltage dividing rule and compare the real position with expected position. According the available data, controller box calculate and fix antenna’s elevation & azimuth precisely. The control box continue the process again and again throughout the whole pass. That is how satellite and GS’s antenna able to maintain a straight direction. The designed system is be able to carry different gain antenna in same antenna tower. Which reduce the space demand for tower installation and increase the efficiency. The designed system is so universal that user can modify the rotator system according to their weight demand. The controller box for the specific rotator is designed by using Atmega 2560, Cytron MD10C, BOURNS 3590 and B10K potentiometer. Through this designed satellite tracking system user will be able to track & operate mission both manually and automatically, when satellite will pass over ground station. This design also increase the chance to install automatic data collection center at remote area and help to gather more field data for further research.

    Performance analysis of multi-carrier DS-CDMA wireless communication systems

    In this thesis, performance analyses of DS-CDMA, MT-CDMA, MC-CDMA and MC-DS-CDMA transmission systems are carried out in a mobile radio environment .The analysis is conceded out to find the carrier to Multi-Access Interference (MAI) with a Rake receiver. The expression of Bit Error Rate (BER) is found with respect to number of users and SNIR. Also, BER performance results are evaluated numerically. Maximum number of users is estimated at a given BER with a fix number of code length. The required SNIR also find out for that maximum number of users. Results are evaluated in terms of BER with different user codes such as PN sequence, M-sequence, Gold sequence, Hadamard Walsh code sequence for the above schemes.

    Power Crisis of Bangladesh Its Presents & Future

    It is believed that the organizational inefficiency of the ‘BPDB’ and ‘Power Division’ of Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources (MPEMR) of Bangladesh is the main cause for current electricity crisis. Although there are changes in public sector management in the electricity sector of Bangladesh due to the NPM, the organization continue to value the bureaucratic and hierarchical organizational culture. Bangladesh government has taken several programs and has adopted policies for privatization and public-private-partnership. Still the Bangladesh government has not succeeded to mitigate the crisis. This industry faces long time negligence, corruption and inefficiency. Currently the crisis situation has become acute due to inadequate fund, weak governance and above all inefficiency. But the political interferences in organizational management, in bureaucratic activities, in personnel management and even in private investment process, are creating a huge problem for the development of this sector. This paper defines the Organizational management, efficiency, and weak governance of Bangladesh’s electricity industry. This paper examines the extent to which the electricity crisis of Bangladesh is the result of organizational inefficiency of the ‘BPDB’ and ‘Power Division’ of Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources (MPEMR) of Bangladesh. This organizational inefficiency is actually shared between inefficiency of public organization and political interferences. It is discussed in this paper not only the organizational inefficiency causes the electricity crisis but also political interference, wrong policies , inadequate fund also responsible. This paper will show how the organizational culture, structure and strategies of the ministry and BPDB have resulted in the crisis. Moreover country’s corrupted and chaotic political system, the roles of parliament and civil servants are also discussed in this essay. Current electricity crisis can be considerably overcome by increasing the efficiency of the ‘Power Division’ as well as by stopping the political interference in decision making and in bureaucracy.

    The Surgical Anatomical Measurements of Patellar Ligaments for Medial Patellar Desmotomy in Buffalo During Upward Patellar Fixation

    The study was aimed to determine the accurate location of giving incision and the width of the incision required to correct the problem of upward patellar fixation during blind method of medial patellar desmotomy. Measurements of patellar ligaments in stifle joint of 10 buffalo without any apparent musculo-skeletal disorders were took and analyzed. The average length and width of medial, middle and lateral patellar ligaments of buffalo were 12.715 ± 0.453 and 2.51 ± 0.152; 11.18 ± 0.342 and 2.23 ± 0.149; 11.34 ± 0.357 and 3.56 ± 0.267 cm respectively. The average groove width for buffalo between middle and medial ligament was 2.76 ± 0.232 cm and between middle and lateral ligament was 0.46 ± 0.07 cm. The highest width of groove between middle and medial patellar ligaments from the level of most cranial bulging of the cranial tibial tuberosity in the upward direction was 4.5 ± 0.262 cm. This study was suggested that incision should be made 4.5 ± 0.262 cm proximally from the level of the most cranial bulging of cranial tibial tuberosity at the groove between middle and medial patellar ligaments, 2.51 ± 0.152 cm the mean width of the medial ligament to be cut during blind method of medial patellar desmotomy in during surgical correction of upward patellar fixation in buffalo
