Online marketplace (electronic commerce or EC) is the buying and selling of goods and services, or the transmitting of funds or data, over an electronic network, primarily the internet. These business transactions occur either as business-to-business, business-to-consumer. The terms ecommerce and e-business are often used interchangeably. The term e-tail is also sometimes used in reference to transactional processes for online shopping. This project provides the user with a category of different electronic products available for purchase in the store. In order to make the purchase happen, a shopping cart is available to the user. The features that are provided by the website are Customer and Admin registration which means they can create account and log in, shopping cart, product searching, payment option, delivery options and interacting facilities through email. This system is based on a 3-tier approach, with a backend database, a middle tier of Apache web server and Object oriented PHP, and a web browser as the front end client. The tools used for this project include PHP, HTML5, CSS and JavaScript as programming language and MySQL for backend database. The ER diagrams of the system and use case model were developed.
